This is a very basic motel. Our room was dark, dingy and smelly. Bathroom was tiny, could just about fit 1 person in with a very small shower. Beds were average. No amenities. The other budget motels in Lone Pine have pools, lights and some amenities. Investigate everywhere else before staying here, even camping!!!

Helpful staff in a clean motel with all the usual facilities. Quite shady in rooms on the north side and a bit noisy with traffic in rooms close to the highway entrance. But we did sleep well and enjoyed our stay.

It was basic, with a little wear and tear on everything, but also very clean. I spilled some water on the floor and wiped it up with a white towel so I was confident about the cleanliness. The mattresses were very firm, but I didn't wake up with any pains so that was a plus. The people were friendly and... More

Our first to choices had no vacancies, so we just resorted to whatever we could find. Sometimes, you get an unexpected gem. This was not the case this time. It was only $10 less than the nicer chains, so it wasn't even a great bargain. The owner's idea of "recently renovated" is much different than mine. The bedding is the... More

Stayed in the Annex and the room was good, actually much better than expected after the check-in process and the shady back street that leads to the Annex rooms. Room was clean and well equipped (micro, fridge, coffee machine) however there were some termites wandering in the bathroom. Not many, always just one or two, but was enough to make... More

The room was clean, insect traps in the closet, staff was nice, the door and the security (window did not lock), was bad. The bed however, omfg! It was like five half flat basketballs under a sheet of plywood, covered by a sheet. I will never stay there again.

V good wifi, John Wayne dinner 2 minutes walk down the street, perfect over nighter before or after Death Valley drive. Cute wee cowboy town. The old guy at the front desk was lacking personality, but put that one side, the room very neat and clean.

Pretty expensive. Wednesday night early June non holiday $110.00 Two weeks prior same day it was $80.00. WiFi worked. Clean rooms. Would stay again but only after checking rates around town. Walking distance to market and a couple of restaurants.

For some reason the hotels in the Eastern Sierra are quite pricey. And frankly they're not worth it. But this little place is more reasonably priced and clean. The proprietors are friendly and helpful. It is within walking distance of anywhere in town – but then I guess just about anyplace is – LOL. I would stay there again.

Went over to the east side of the sierras for the Bishop Mule Days 2015. Drove on down and spent the night in the Portal Motel, I found the updated, clean and quite!! Plenty of places to eat in Lone Pine within walking distance! Host was very accommodating with everything from ice to directions. I would stay there in the... More
