This is a great vacation. We and another family have camped here but never stayed in the cabins [Plover & Albatros]. They were perfect for our families. Stayed at the alabaster cabin at jalama beach march 9-11. Our family has been camping here for years so thought we'd try cabins ;( Everything from floors to ceiling was filthy dirty. Dishes had spaghetti O's stuck to them..ick!! Don't get me started on the mini blinds, suppose to be white but so dirty they look gray... We had my... More

We stayed in site 16 with our trailer. We had a nice view but stay away from that site!! There is a sulfur pit behind it. If you want to sit outside or open windows, forget about it. All you smell is rotten eggs...it's really strong. Also, watch out for the dog poop.

we camped here for a week, there isn't I would say against it. the experience was unbelievably fantastic. we were up on the last row of tent sites where electricity is available. we opted for that. it also allowed us a fantastic view of the ocean since it sat above the dunes. We stayed 2 nights in tent site #11. There is a steep hill that descends into a dense marsh, which I was a little nervous about with 3 little kids, but it wasn't a problem. As stated in my title, this was my first time camping. Ever. I'm nearly 32 years old, and my husband finally convinced me to "rough it" overnight. Went to Jalama Beach, Friday, June 21st - after leaving Lompoc from my motel - to do some fishing on my birthday. Easy drive from the highway - but wouldn't do it in the dark. We spent the most wonderful 4 days at this camp. Bookings can be made on-line now as well as reservations for specific spaces. I think this place is special. Not everyone would agree, I'm sure! It's not the Ritz, but it's not camping either.
