Went to Memorial Park to dedicate a table to my sister who we lost last year. This was her favorite spot to go camping with her family and friends. I haven't been there for a few years and forgot just how beautiful the park is. If you want the camping experience nestled in the shade of the redwood trees close...

We have been here for the last two years with our school on a camping trip. The campsite facilities are great, the bathrooms are clean with cold and hot running water. The showers were closed both times we were there due to the drought. The Rangers regularly drive around the camp sites to make sure that the rules are being...

We stayed at Memorial park for the first time in July, 2013. Love the deep tree cover and the hiking trails. Sites are spacious, owners of the concession/store are friendly (only open in summer ). Ranger staff very good, too. Sites have lots of parking, HUGE metal, anti-critter storage lockers, firepits. Nearby water spigots have tasty, clean, safe water. Bathrooms...

The location in the middle of the redwoods but close to the Bay Area is perfect. In summer the creek with a beach is great fun for the kids. On the Saturday of our visit, they had crafts for kids in the afternoon and a evening outdoor movie with campfire.

This park is a beautiful hidden jewel of the SF Bay Area. It feels as though one is hundreds of miles away from the congestion of the city life. But if you go expecting peace and quiet, be warned that this place is very kid-friendly (as in very noisy). However, at 10:00 p.m., all is finally quiet from the noisy...

Nothing but shade. Giant redwoods and the occational visit from the racoons. It is peacful if you go durring the week but does get packed on the summer weekend. sound does travel and you hear all the screaming kids everywhere in the camp ground, but come 10:00 not a peep. The men's restroom have the no fush setup and in...

One of our favorite campgrounds. The rangers are friendly and the redwoods here are beautiful. We spent three days recently and felt rejuvenated. Sites vary from semi-private to not so private and some are much bigger than others. Reservations are taken online and a map is provided with pictures of individual sites. I recommend the sites on the river sides...

“Get your reservations early, and check for sites near the swimming hole! Watch for large, impressively yellow banana slugs near the water spigots in the early mornings.”
