My husband and I visited Heritage house this past weekend for my birthday. Wow - what an incredible experience. The property is stunning - spacious, quiet and simply beautiful. We had room 1 which overlooked the gazebo and was close to the many walking paths. Our room was spacious and had a king size bed, tub, fireplace and patio. They offer robes and blankets upon request - I wish we had requested earlier as it was chilly at night but we wanted to enjoy the scenery. We brought our 6 month old puppy with us and greatly appreciated having an enclosed patio for him to lounge on. The property is a short drive to the town and many nearby hiking trails/beaches. The weekend would have been unbeatable if their restaurant had been open for dinner. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back.…
My wife and I spent a weekend at this resort in early February and had a fantastic stay. The room was quiet and comfortable, the hotel staff was friendly, helpful and prompt with any responses. The restaurant was great for breakfast and my wife received a prenatal massage at their spa and kept raving about how good it was during our drive back to the Bay Area. I would highly recommend.
We book every year for the Same Time Next Year, and have always loved it. It's a true gem, one that embodies the quinessential Norther California coastal experience. The property is huge, given over mostly to the beauty of the land, landscaped to highlight its nature, and so walking the property is one of its greatest attributes. The restaurant and bar are both quite good, and the atmosphere perfect in its openness and amazing views from nearly every seat. The film director Mulligan knew what he was doing when he picked this location to make the film.
Wow, an outstanding 5 star experience. Rooms are big and bed is comfy. We had room 17 which had stunning ocean and Cliff views. Towels are like new and amenities are top shelf. High quality Peets coffee and a nice big refrigerator. The bed and bedding is so comfy and the quiet nights lull you to the best sleep ever. Loved the private beach and all the sweeping views. Wi-Fi was awesome but there is no cell service here. (Not their fault) The staff is over the top with service and very informative about things to do and where to hike and dine. Going to make this an annual trip and see them Same Time Next Year!!
Gorgeous views and stylish minimalist rooms. Excellent massages available on the property and great meals. Super serene and quiet getaway near Mendocino. It’s easy to miss the turnoff into the property and check in is very slow but everything else is wonderful!
Thank you Heritage House for the genuine hospitality during our recent stay. We had such a wonderful time soaking in the view from our room, sipping on the complimentary wine and of course the smores! We look forward to returning soon.
We got engaged at Heritage House in January 2021 and were lucky enough to visit one year later to celebrate and relive the special moments we had at the resort. We cannot begin to describe how amazing this property is. We first visited during the height of COVID so a lot of the town was taking precautions and were not fully open/functional. Heritage house, despite having a few areas closed was beyond our expectations. We had a room RIGHT on the ocean cliff where we would crack the window at night listen to waves crash against the shore. My fiancé was in communication with Christina(Nina) to plan the perfect proposal. It would not have been possible without her! She had champagne waiting for us and even left a had written note congratulating us! Revisiting this year we got to see Heritage House in more of its glory. The dining room was open for breakfast, which was DELICIOUS both days and their spa was open as well. The timing didn't work out for us to visit the spa but we have it on our list! From the second I booked our visit for January the hotel staff were nothing but amazing. I called to request our same room and they noted it in our profile and also sent over a list of dining and activity recommendations and offered to help with anything we needed. While on site we were welcomed back by a lovely staff who hand delivered robes to our room and made sure we knew they were just a text away if we needed anything. The rooms are nothing short of spectacular! Gas fireplaces that turn on in two seconds, floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the stunning ocean views AND heated floors in the bathroom, my personal fav. They even have a really nice size fridge where we stored wine and snacks. The hotel is VERY dog friendly as well, we saw 5-6 groups with their furry friends around the property. The privacy and calm is just what we were looking for for a relaxing weekend away. We also got to run into Nina again and share with her how much we appreciated her help and hospitality. We cannot wait for our next trip up to Mendocino and hoping to keep the tradition alive and spend ti at HHR!…
The view is amazing, the rooms comfy, but the real gem of this place is the staff. Sarah, the manager, is the most helpful, personable, approachable, and welcoming. We just love her. Thanks for a great stay, every time! We recommend this spot to everyone who wants to visit Mendocino/Fort Bragg, and will continue to.
Heritage House Resort and Spa is one of the most beautiful locations that my wife and I have ever stayed. The accommodations are luxurious, the views are stunning, and the staff could not have done more to enhance our stay. In traveling down the coast we found this place by chance but knew, almost immediately, that we’d stumbled on a treasure. This place is simply unbelievable. Walking past a fire in the fireplace to sit and enjoy a glass of wine on the deck, overlooking the coastal cliffs was — perfect. We already have plans for two more stays to celebrate special occasions. Living in Maryland, it impressed and affected us that much.
