This place was incredibly cute and the perfect place to recover after spending all day in the cold ocean. The private fireplace and jacuzzi were great for warming up and drying damp clothes and the bed was comfortable and soft. Would definitely stay again if we're back in that area

We were welcomed with a hand written note and a half bottle of wine, which was a pleasant surprise. The manager was really friendly, professional, and helpful. We were given information about how to get to Buckhorn Cove, which is walking distance from the inn. He also provided other helpful information about the area. The inn is only 3 miles from downtown Mendocino so it is close to everything. We stayed in the Water Tower Cottage for two nights. This is an amazing cottage that has a private hot tub and a deck on top of the water tower with views of the ocean. This cottage was really relaxing and the enclosed area was perfect for our dog and provided privacy. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and the fireplace in the room helped stay warm and to relax. This place is perfect for dogs. There is Buckhorn Cove within walking distance, which you can take your dog off leash at. They provided a fluffy dog bed, treats, a sheet, a towel, and a frisbee. Our dog never used the crate since she preferred the dog bed that was provided. They have a dog wash area and a dog exercise meadow as well. I love that they use natural amenities and that they care about the environment. They also have dispensers in the shower instead of plastic bottles. We really enjoyed our visit and can’t wait to come back!

People here were very pleasant, the hot tub on an early cooler morning with the peace and quiet was heaven. The wine gift on arrival was also a pleasant, unexpected addition. The bed was firm, which is great for a tired back. The only reason I don't rank if a 5 star is there is some trim work in the room that could use some TLC. But that's a small thing and not a reason for not going.

We stayed at the inn last weekend for our first anniversary celebration. We absolutely loved our stay. The room was great. The place was nice and quiet. We got to bring our dog which was perfect for us. We enjoyed a late night visit to the hot tub under the stars. Also ate at the restaurant for breakfast and had an awesome meal. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you

The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek was selected by my wife for a fun weekend escape with our newest family member Charlie, a 5-month-old, 6-pound, Maltipoo. Our host Martin greeted all of us in a most friendly manor at the little registration office. It was Charlie’s first vacation with us, so my wife wanted everything to be easy and accommodating for our puppy. Our drive would be about 3 hours and with our long hectic work schedules we decided to treat ourselves with relaxing massages to start our long weekend. The spa was a very nicely decorated Yurt in the back quiet corner of the property. There also was a Sauna, hot tub, shower, and bathroom. I took a short soak to relax before the massage. Perfect! We checked in to the Thyme Cottage just up from the Registration office. There was a large front lawn with a small fenced back yard. And to our great surprise we had a nice ocean view from our front window and porch. The cottage was neat and clean with all the amenities. It had a dog bed with water and food bowls, towel and sheet, a throwing toy, and waste bags. We could have not asked for anything better. The room was very comfortable with a king bed, large jetted soaking tub, gas fireplace heater, and separate bathroom w/shower. We felt immediately at home and comfortable. We just enjoyed the afternoon listening to soft music and watching the ocean and sunset from our front yard, with some ball fetching and a cocktail. In the morning we had a nice breakfast in the café on the property that had a separate dog dining area that we shared with another couple and Milo. Both Charlie and Milo got their pictures taken for the memory wall. A nice touch. We spent the next twos days enjoying the Mendocino areas beaches, attractions, restaurants, and little shopping area. The walk to the lighthouse was nice and very picturesque. It was refreshing to have all the places we parked free of charge. This inn is very dog Loving and we saw many other guests check in during our stay, with several four-legged companions. I would highly recommend staying here for anyone traveling with their pets.
