i booked a room in april for next week. i just got my reservation cancelled because the third party booking system they still use is terrible. only book with them if you're ok having to rebook at much greater expense elsewhere last minute.
We loved our stay at the Andiron! Cannot wait to go back. I don’t know what i loved most - the comfy bed, clean and delightfully decorated cabin, beautiful grounds, adorable goats, or ridiculously fun owners. Our cabin “Read” had a little kitchenette and a wonderful fireplace with a cozy armchair perfect for curling up and reading by the fire. We made a simple breakfast every morning, then hung out, explored the gorgeous coast, poked around in town, or used the hot tub. Highly recommend.
We've stayed at the Andiron several times now and each room is so unique designed with amazing vintage collectables with different themes. I love the wood stove, and kitchenette which helps to make the cabins so home-like. It's peaceful, dog friendly, and conveniently located. The hosts are generous, helpful, and friendly. We intend to keep coming back. I've sent friends and family here and they have loved it as well.
I stayed in the "Read" cabin- very cute cabin with library/book theme. The cabin was spotless, came with coffee from a local roaster, and has a kitchenette. Dining options in the area - Little River, Albion, Mendocino - are relatively pricey, so it's good to be able to cook some meals. There are 3 very adorable goats on the property which are friendly and I loved going to pet them every day. Wi-Fi worked well for the whole stay. I have absolutely nothing negative to say and can't recommend the place highly enough!
Truly one of the best vacations I've ever had. Days spent wandering the hidden little beaches, the headlands, & redwood groves of NorCal and evenings curled up next to a wood-burning fireplace in the sweetest little cabin I could imagine. From the first moment you enter the place, you can see how much thought has gone into every detail - from Ella & Louis playing on the retro mp3 player, to the collection of lamps and cozy chairs, to the decorations of real substance. That is to say - I was expecting kitsch, but it wasn't! I stayed in the "Read" cabin, with my dog Lux, and I thought, "sure, there'll be some random books selected for the size color of their covers." Nope. We're talking a bibliophile's dream, with classics of Sherlock Holmes & Shakespeare through Toni Morrison & Khaled Hosseini. N.K. Jemisin's latest, too! Amenities: The bed is huge and comfy and they give you a dog-friendly cover, in case your pup (like mine) is spoiled & sleeps on the bed. The kitchenette is thoughtfully equipped - really everything you need to make a meal, short of an oven. Beans from a local roaster, so you can sip freshly ground coffee while watching the deer through the sliding glass doors to the deck. All the wood you want for the fireplace, and built-in heating & mobile space heater, in case you want more consistent heat. The bathroom is simple, with really lovely stone tiles, including in the shower (no tub). Kate, who works the office during the week, is always ready with suggestions for local hidden gems (Montgomery woods <3). I snuck a peak at the outdoor hot tub (closed due to the 'rona), and I can't wait for a post-pandemic visit - hidden in a little grove of trees with fairy lights all around. The staff here clearly take pandemic safety really seriously - no contact check in, resting rooms for 24 hours between guests (and they actually do, they don't just say they do). On Friday and Saturday, Madeline (the owner) hosts a socially-distanced happy hour outside, with a fire and two big heating lamps, and a rotating selection of beverages prepared so that no one need touch anything. The thoughtfulness is really something else. 10/10 would recommend.…
Spent last weekend loving life at the Andiron Inn. The innkeepers go to great lengths to be cautious during the pandemic. We stayed in the cabin named "Play." So cute, homey, and fun. Ah, the peace and quiet! So serene!!! Dined on pizza at the firepit with a nice bottle of wine. Can't wait to return.
My boyfriend surprised me with a little getaway to the Mendocino County. We spend one night at the Andiron and I must tell you. It was absolutely lovely we stayed at #8 cabin. We were able to see the ocean from our little deck. It was very quite and relaxing. Our room was very cozy the mattress was great, the shower was very clean. It has an out door jacuzzi which works excellent. I felt in love with the room decoration. We’ll definitely come back to this place.
My sister and have been visiting here over the last several years. Always enjoying our stay. Love the Happy Hour and Breakfast Toast Bar. Beautiful area. Have reservations again in September. Hoping and praying that we will be able to go.💘
We had a small family reunion after a wedding at the Andiron in and found it to be a relaxing and invigorating vacation. The owners were congenial, helpful and kind. We had people from 4 to retirement age and there was room to mix and mingle in lots of different combination. I would return in a heart beat
The warmth of the cabins were matched by the warmth of Kate, Scott, and Madeline. There are also goats and chickens. The clean and comfortable cabins are full of curios and games from the 1950's and 60's. We enjoyed Happy Hour Fondue Friday, and the morning toast bar complete with homemade apple butter. Will definitely stay again.
