The best place to stay in Mendocino. The entire staff was lovely from Jimmy, Luis, and Seqouia everyone made us feel welcome. Breakfast each morning delivered to your door was delicious, the beds are the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in and the hikes near the property are unreal. It’s one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at because of how peaceful it is and how kind the staff are. Also it’s a short 5 min drive into town which is super convenient. Highly recommend!
Glendeven was absolutely heavenly. I felt like I was in a story book. The view of the ocean and llama pasture outside of our balcony was perfection. The breakfasts were so delicious, comforting, and adorable in their little baskets. We loved visiting with the chickens and baby chicks each evening. A bottle of wine upon arriving and a sachet of lavender on departure. I highly recommend Montgomery Woods to see the giant redwoods, kayaking the sea caves at Van Damme beach, and the rail bikes up in Fort Bragg. Check out Glendeven's 7 recommendations for things to do and places to eat or have cocktails. We stuck to that list and had an idyllic weekend. Delicious fresh food at all of their recommendations, unique cocktails and friendly people everywhere we went. This part of the world is absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely be back!!! I almost don't want to tell anyone where we went because it is so quaint, peaceful, and not crowded like everywhere else on the coast!…
We had a great time for 1 night at Glendeven! The breakfast in the morning was really delicious and special. Our room had a great view and a fireplace. We enjoyed walking the trails, feeding the chickens, and looking at all the flowers on the property. We are hoping to stay there again one day!
We have been going to Glendeven for about 25+ years, with two separate owners. This is such an awesome setting in a beautiful coastal spot. We tend to stay in the same building, and choose between the four rooms. It's a lil' removed from the main buildings, which makes it quieter. The best part of this B&B is unique. They have chickens, and a veggie garden, and they deliver your breakfast to your individual room @ 9am. They offer coffee prior if you want a cup or two. They have recently sold, since we were there, but knowing the previous owners, we are certain the high standards will continue. You won't be disappointed by booking a stay!
Glendeven Inn & Lodge is a lovely place to escape for a solo retreat and connect with God. I was so blessed by the attentive and friendly staff. They are a small, family owned business, which makes it so special. From the homemade cookies, breakfast delivered to your door, and freedom to roam the property, it was so heavenly. I had a beautiful view of the forest, llama pasture and chickens. I highly recommend Glendeven and would return again to get kissed by the llama again.
Our room was beautiful and modern with every amenity we needed. I chose #205 because it had no neighbors on any sides, nobody above or below. Well worth a very slight premium. Loads of windows and a beautiful sea view across the fields where the llamas graze. We didn’t light the fire as the room was the perfect temperature, but it was all made up and ready for us if we had wanted to, with lots of spare firewood. As everyone else has said, the breakfast was delicious. This was delivered to our door on the dot of 9am as promised, along with the hot drinks we specified when we checked in. Eggs fresh from the chickens with cornbread on the side, with fruit, juice and fabulous coffee. There are tea and coffee-making facilities downstairs to make more drinks at other times as required. We loved feeding the chickens with the grain provided in our room. Also loved the little pouch of lavender we took away with us, grown on the premises. The linens and towels were soft, although the bed was firmer than I like or am used to. That’s definitely a personal preference though. We took the homemade cookies to go and enjoyed them on our journey home. Would definitely stay again!…
Not only does every room offer a beautiful view of both sweeping forests and the ocean but the llamas, chickens, and other wildlife on the property really makes you feel like you're away from it all. Breakfast is bought to your door every morning in beautiful handbaskets and every stay starts with a bottle of wine from the local wineries. The location is perfect and all the staff, as well as our fellow travelers, were the kindest people we'd ever met. There's a special energy to Glendeven that I doubt you can find anywhere else. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate, stop by.
I cannot say enough about how lovely this place is! When I called to make my reservation, not only did I talk directly to the owner, but he helped me pick the exact perfect room for the type of stay I was looking for, as I had work I needed to do, but still wanted to relax and truly vacation. The room was big and well-appointed, the fireplace stocked, and it was exactly as promised. The grounds are beautiful but not overly-manicured so you still feel connected to nature that is all around you. The staff are welcoming and attentive, but not in that cloying, manufactured way that some places can be; they all knew that I had work to do and why I was visiting and I felt taken care of but not bothered :-) I find that very rare, but it makes all the difference to me. They also made great local recommendations for things to do and places to eat and visit, and the location could not be better. It's just a few minutes walk to the beach, to the redwoods, and just a couple of minutes drive into town. Breakfasts were delicious and the afternoon wine a total treat. I look forward to being able to return and try out many of the other rooms and cottages available on the grounds. Thanks to everyone at the lodge for making this the exact kind of stay that I needed; I was able to get work done and meet my deadlines and also completely relax, detox from worklife and just enjoy. Highly, highly recommend for all kinds of stays.…
We spent a lovely weekend at Glendeven and truly enjoyed our stay in the farmhouse. Our room on the second floor has a small deck that overlooks the llama pasture and has a gorgeous view of the ocean. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. (I appreciate being accommodated as a vegan.) The town of Mendocino is just just a two minute drive north. Service was excellent, and we'd love to return to Glendeven soon.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay at Glendeven Inn. We go to Mendocino every year and this will be our new go to place. Romeo was so helpful when checking in, during the stay, and upon leaving. We loved the breakfasts! WOW! Such a nice treat. Also loved the chickens and walking thru the beautiful gardens. Got ideas for my garden at home. Thank you so much!
