Stayed in the Firehouse Cabin and enjoyed our stay! I often times rely on good reviews so I hope this thorough one provides helpful details. The cabins were very rustic but cute with nice private patio / fire pit area. The kitchenette was outside and had a lock, easily accessible. Had a broom, microwave, dishes and cups with utensils. Mini fridge was there as well as a sink. We brought paper plates and utensils sold to avoid having to wash anything which was easier. The cabin: I was impressed with the layout of the room however the shower was incredibly small. Almost too small to be comfortable for those larger-than-average sized people. The water was hot and it got me clean so I can’t complain, just wish it wasn’t such a small triangle of a shower. Not sure if the other cabins have the same but our neighbor made a comment also that she had difficulties fitting inside the shower :/. The beds were very comfortable, clean linens and the carpet was worn but not gross at all. The small electric fireplace was super nice and got toasty quick. Room had a small coffe pot with mugs but no filters so bring those! The room had a floor and desk fan for use and a cute little dining table in the middle. Unfortunately, the walls to the next door cabin to us were very thin and we could hear them using the restroom but besides that, it was very private. The sliding entry door had dark window curtains and overlooked the meadow ans one or two other tent sites. Easy access to anywhere on the campground. The pub was closeby and had fire pits and a tv. Food was reallllly good. Tried the pizza, fish n chips and the mac n cheese bites! Too chilly to play games outside but they had cornhole, table tennis and a few other games under the canopy by the pub. Kids area was closeby but didn’t go check that out during our stay. Staff was very friendly and overall had a great experience! I’ll be back.. even if the shower wasn’t the greatest. I’ll be back for a fun camping experience with added comfort of a warm bed :) Camp Store: Bundles of wood at the store were $10 and had maybe five logs. If you can get more elsewhere or bring it from home. The store has little snacks, frozen breakfast items, normal camping necessities and alcohol (beer wine). I included photos of the cabin, bathroom, fire pit, area in front of the cabin and the pizza I enjoyed. I hope this review helps others! By all means don’t book here if you don’t enjoy a rustic camping experience with the comfort of a warm bed and hot shower!! (The campground showers and pool are currently closed due to Covid)…
Amazing place for kids and adults! They have a pub on site and an awesome playground plus a bunch of family friendly games (Life size, Connect Four, Horse shoe,Bocce etc). Highly recommend it and will be coming back for sure!!!!
We would not normally come to this area in December, but were passing through on our way up north and found this place. It turned out to be a great place to stay. We had a spot that accommodated our 35' motorcoach, and we felt like we were amongst the trees, which we like so much more than the feel of being in a parking lot. All of the hookups worked fine. It was also quiet. Though we don't have young kids any more (do have grandkids!), there is a really neat play structure which will be fun after Covid. Be aware that the road down to the campsites is a bit rough - we were bumping and bouncing along to our spot. We arrived in the evening, otherwise would have loved to explore further and try to see the river. One of our favorite things was a pub-tent that was set up. It was only us inside, and the bartender lit a fire and some heat lamps and we had some excellent blood orange cider. Love finding special experiences like this! The owners clearly care about their place and their customers.…
This camping spot has the most gorgeous redwoods locations I've been in Northern California. The river was low, yet grand. The hook ups and water were easy. I will be back, and looking forward to spending time here in the summer months when the pool is open!
Stayed here with my partner on our way up to Washington state. We both LOVED this place. Really friendly staff, cute cabins, great outdoor dining and bar area with fire pits and outdoor heaters everywhere. The place also had every kind of game imaginable! Our favorite was the Bat-chi ball court. We will most definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.
