We loved everything about this place! Comfortable bed/room/fun bar/beautiful scenery! Staff was nice and informative. Resort was in a good location for driving to areas of interest and is close to a river!
The Redwoods River Resort is a gem. We were fortunate enough to reserve a cabin. It was clean, inviting. We roasted marshmallows over the bonfire, cooked dinner and ate it on the picnic table by the outdoor kitchenette, and were still able to watch TV, especially the news, considering all that is going on. The staff is friendly, amazing, and treats you like family. This place is a true gem. Pool, playground for children, restaurant, bar ... what more can you ask for? Shhh ... don't tell anyone. This is a find.
The campsites and most of the RV sites are small and packed close together, with nothing separating them except for an occasional tree and couple of fence posts; there are a handful of premium RV sites further back that have trees between them so maybe that's what the other reviews are talking about. We were in one of the tent sites, which are all packed into one dusty area with the 101 freeway about 40 yards away on one side, the playground and pub on another, and the basketball hoop, bathrooms and trash cans on a third side. For what it's worth our son liked the playground. "Quiet time" supposedly starts at 10pm, but the pub was playing thumping EDM until 10:30 and our neighbors and numerous other sites were partying loudly past midnight. If what you're looking for is a place to get drunk with your friends while your kids run around through other people's campsites, then this is the place for you. If you're looking for a campground in the redwoods -- keep looking.…
We love going to R.R.R. Don't want to give too good of a review then EVERYONE will want to go here. :) The sites are just far enough apart to not be on top of your neighbor but close enough to enjoy people. :) There are lots of activities and several oversized games like Checkers, Jenga, Connect Four, Bocce Ball and more. There is a pool, no hot tub but who cares. Showers are ok but hey, no charge so it works. The one thing I will mention is the MOSQUITO'S! They are annoying and depending on the time of year it could be bad. We keep our Thermacel's going all the time and that works. Can't wait to go back!
My wife and I are in our 60's and were planning a trip down 101 and the Avenue of the Giants. Accommodations in this area are somewhat limited. We booked this property because of its convenience to the highway. It is a pretty location with a heated pool, hiking available, and other outdoor activities. However, we were not pleased with the lack of certain modern amenities. NO A/C! It was 95 degrees outside. The shower was very odd, with sliding doors both to the left and the right, at a right angle to each other, to get inside. The shower was very sm all as well. Internet access was only available through a 3rd party, whom we knew nothing about. So, we did not feel comfortable giving credit card information to them. The room had no plastic or paper cups. They had ceramic cups in our room, but also a sign saying that if you left dirty dishware in the sink, you would have to pay a $45 charge for cleaning the dishes!! So, I ended up getting a paper cup from the general store there. I believe ice costs 5-6 dollars, as well. Also, we could not drive our car to our room, so we had to travel up and down a hill with our luggage. There were some steps that could be taken, but they were WAY too risky to go up and down with luggage. Also, the handrails on the stairs were not well-anchored. The restaurant on the property was pretty good, and we had breakfast and dinner there. Be aware breakfast in only available F, Sa, and Su. So, if you are in good health and don't mind roughing it, this place might be ok for you (it did seem that families with young children were enjoying themselves).…
This place was a gem! It is really out there and in the middle of the redwoods. The amenities of the resort was great! It had everything we needed and more. The pub had great options for us to have dinner and we had a good time playing ping pong and having drinks by the fire pit with our friends. We stayed for the night because we were on our way north, but I would definitely come back again to stay longer at this resort! the playground for kids was a dream too! Highly recommend checking this place out!
It's not just a resort, it's a destination.. With amazing amenities and the greatest people you could ever find. The greatest hidden destination I could ever find on accident. Will definitely revisit as often as possible.
Staff was friendly Location was perfection Explore the grounds & get some grub at the pub! Only issue was that we were only there for a night and wish we had more time to enjoy our time at this location. The bar eats & area were a nice touch and a lovely spot to unwind after traveling/hiking.
For the past 7 years we have been camping each year here. We always enjoy this place. There’s a lot of activities for the kids. The staff are really nice & friendly. We highly recommend this beautiful place. This is one of our favorite places to camp.
Nice outdoor areas and recreation facilties. Nice bar and game room. I loved how big rv spots were and how many trees there were to provide shade. If we had kids they would have had a blast in the play fortres!
