This was one of our favorite campgrounds ever! The playground was awesome. The games in the pub were so much fun and the kids loved them. The site was stunning. Super fun and helpful staff. I wish more campgrounds were like this. We came here on a four month cross-country RV trip and this was definitely one of the most fun campgrounds we have ever stayed in. It was great to drive up the Avenue the Giants and enjoy our time in the redwoods. The only thing missing was a laundry room, which was closed due to drought.

Stayed in the Firehouse Cabin and enjoyed our stay! I often times rely on good reviews so I hope this thorough one provides helpful details.
The cabins were very rustic but cute with nice private patio / fire pit area. The kitchenette was outside and had a lock, easily accessible. Had a broom, microwave, dishes and cups with utensils. Mini fridge was there as well as a sink. We brought paper plates and utensils sold to avoid having to wash anything which was easier. The cabin: I was impressed with the layout of the room however the shower was incredibly small. Almost too small to be comfortable for those larger-than-average sized people. The water was hot and it got me clean so I can’t complain, just wish it wasn’t such a small triangle of a shower. Not sure if the other cabins have the same but our neighbor made a comment also that she had difficulties fitting inside the shower :/. The beds were very comfortable, clean linens and the carpet was worn but not gross at all. The small electric fireplace was super nice and got toasty quick. Room had a small coffe pot with mugs but no filters so bring those! The room had a floor and desk fan for use and a cute little dining table in the middle. Unfortunately, the walls to the next door cabin to us were very thin and we could hear them using the restroom but besides that, it was very private. The sliding entry door had dark window curtains and overlooked the meadow ans one or two other tent sites. Easy access to anywhere on the campground. The pub was closeby and had fire pits and a tv. Food was reallllly good. Tried the pizza, fish n chips and the mac n cheese bites! Too chilly to play games outside but they had cornhole, table tennis and a few other games under the canopy by the pub. Kids area was closeby but didn’t go check that out during our stay.
Staff was very friendly and overall had a great experience! I’ll be back.. even if the shower wasn’t the greatest. I’ll be back for a fun camping experience with added comfort of a warm bed :)
Camp Store: Bundles of wood at the store were $10 and had maybe five logs. If you can get more elsewhere or bring it from home. The store has little snacks, frozen breakfast items, normal camping necessities and alcohol (beer wine).
I included photos of the cabin, bathroom, fire pit, area in front of the cabin and the pizza I enjoyed. I hope this review helps others! By all means don’t book here if you don’t enjoy a rustic camping experience with the comfort of a warm bed and hot shower!!
(The campground showers and pool are currently closed due to Covid)

Great location. We have a 43' motorhome and were a little worried about maneuvering in and out but had no issues. The hike down to the eel river is a bit steep but there are other spots up the road with much easier access. The pool, park, public restrooms and pub were closed due to COVID-19 but they gave us a 10% discount so it all worked out.
The only con with this park is the water pressure was pretty low which made getting shampoo and conditioner out of ones hair an issue. Other than that we'd definitely stay here again.

My wife and I are in our 60's and were planning a trip down 101 and the Avenue of the Giants. Accommodations in this area are somewhat limited. We booked this property because of its convenience to the highway. It is a pretty location with a heated pool, hiking available, and other outdoor activities. However, we were not pleased with the lack of certain modern amenities. NO A/C! It was 95 degrees outside. The shower was very odd, with sliding doors both to the left and the right, at a right angle to each other, to get inside. The shower was very sm all as well. Internet access was only available through a 3rd party, whom we knew nothing about. So, we did not feel comfortable giving credit card information to them. The room had no plastic or paper cups. They had ceramic cups in our room, but also a sign saying that if you left dirty dishware in the sink, you would have to pay a $45 charge for cleaning the dishes!! So, I ended up getting a paper cup from the general store there. I believe ice costs 5-6 dollars, as well. Also, we could not drive our car to our room, so we had to travel up and down a hill with our luggage. There were some steps that could be taken, but they were WAY too risky to go up and down with luggage. Also, the handrails on the stairs were not well-anchored. The restaurant on the property was pretty good, and we had breakfast and dinner there. Be aware breakfast in only available F, Sa, and Su. So, if you are in good health and don't mind roughing it, this place might be ok for you (it did seem that families with young children were enjoying themselves).

We got married at Redwood River Resort in July 2021. Our experience from beginning to end was perfect! We worked closely with their wedding coordinator Amanda and her family. Besides the beautiful location what sold us was the warm and welcoming vibe of the family, and the good energy on the property. Amanda is not only warm and kind, but she is super professional. Very responsive, super organized and detail oriented. She brought up items that I had not even thought about, and thought about the wedding experience from beginning to end! Most importantly she ensured that everything leading up to the wedding was stress free. I know that without her I would not have enjoyed my wedding as much as I did. She took care of every detail, and helped ensure that I wasn't stressed leading up to the wedding.
For our wedding we rented out some rooms along with some yurts from an outside vendor. Our friends and family enjoyed time at the pool and river, stargazing at night, and enjoying quality time in the redwoods. The location really allowed us to have a wedding that was more of an experience- rather than just a one day event. We enjoyed spending quality time with our loved ones in a place that really facilitated good memories.
We also rented out the group campsite, where we gathered for group meals and the actual wedding. Our ceremony overlooked the redwoods and the twinkle lights at night helped make the space feel intimate and magical. One of the highlights of the entire weekend was the silent disco. I was a little hesitant at first because I wasn't sure if our friends and family would embrace it. They loved it and were so bummed when the party was over! Most importantly we were able to dance the night away without bothering the other neighbors.
Each and every one of our guests had the best time and all say they can't wait to return. I can't wait to return to the Redwood River Resort one day with my children to show them the place that I got married. I recommend this to anyone that is looking for more than just a one day traditional wedding.

Mandy thank you so much for the kind words!! Amanda is definitely amazing at what she does and we're so blessed to have her here. We LOVE that we were chosen to make your special day a memory that will last a lifetime!! The Silent Disco is one of our favorite ways to celebrate here! It's so much fun and we're SO GLAD you all loved it. We look forward to seeing you again! You make a very beautiful couple and we wish you the very best in this journey called Life. Until we meet again...stay well and stay safe and we look forward to meeting the new addition to the family (hopefully soon!)

Stayed here 8/6-8/8 and we had such a horrible experience. There was a group at the group site that stayed up until 3am and were being obnoxiously loud. The next morning I go up to the front desk to complain and they said they couldn't move me anywhere because they were fully booked. I asked if I could get some sort of discount on our stay or at least some Wi-Fi vouchers because of the inconvenience. Apparently they don't do that, which I think is pretty absurd. Everything here is ridiculously priced and this place isn't worth it. This establishment doesn't care about the customers satisfaction all they care about is making $$$.

We booked a stay during Thanksgiving week through Redwood’s website. We paid full price and half up front as a deposit. Having secured a room with Redwood, we planned and booked the rest of our vacation around our stay in the Redwoods. A few days later, I received a call saying that our room would not be available during the days we booked and asking if we wanted a refund. When I asked if they could just move us to a similar or upgraded room, the owner chewed me out, saying that she expected all of her rooms to be full during Thanksgiving week and she would not give one away for less than full price. She said if we wanted to stay at Redwoods, I should go back on their website and book a different room (and, I guess, cross my fingers that the next room we booked didn’t become unavailable?). So beware, if you book a spot here, you may or may not end up with a place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay in the Redwoods at this very pleasant resort. The staff is exemplary and Harrison's Pub is a definite plus. This is an older resort but shows it's age graciously; it's setting among redwoods is beautiful, the grounds are well kept and the amenities clean. Our primary disappointment was the difficult access to the river. They mention a beach and swimming holes but don't describe the trail which numerous people described as a "total workout" especially coming up. We're older/semi-disabled and couldn't take advantage of the river, a large part of our decision to stay here. We were also unable to use the sewer hookup due to it's location and height in the premium camping site. If your rig has a low output be sure to request a site with a flat input opening.

This was our second time to the resort and we were so disappointed at the number of things that had gone downhill since the year before. The room was dirty at check in, had stains of blood on the sheets, and the slider door barely even locked. The screen was all torn apart, so there was no leaving the door open due to the horrendous mosquito problem there. This meant that we were hot and miserable in our room. The kitchen was also understaffed (they were the year before as well, but were friendlier about it), the fryer broke own and backed up about 15 orders one night. Again, all things I can deal with, but not at their current pricing. Hopefully they will clean up the cabins a bit and get some new bedding, FIX broken things around the unit, patio, etc.

State hiker/biker sites were all closed due to Covid, so I had to find a private site while biking through this area. This resort is really nice and even had a pool and self-serve laundry facilities, but the price for a tent site w no electricity was a bit spendy. It was kind of a ghost town when I was there. I’m sure it’s much more bustling in peak, non Covid times!
