The tripadviser listing states"known as the best resort" on Lake Shasta. If this is the best resort, I'd hate to see what the other resorts look like! I found the lodging through tripadvisor and after looking at the resort's newly updated website I booked the lodging for only one night. I paid $247 for a "cabin" with two extra long beds and a kitchen. The website advertises their 20 acre location with many lakefront rooms as a wedding destination. They even have a honeymoon room. Scott called to inquire as to our anticipated arrival time. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. We were given the keys to "Cabin" 21, which it turns out is not a "cabin" as advertised, but an upstairs room in the building adjacent to the cabins. We anticipated having a stand alone cabin as we had heavy ice chests in preparation for a longer stay elsewhere. We told Scott we expected a "cabin" and we weren't happy having to shlep up and downstairs. He offered to give us a full refund, but I already knew everything in the area was booked, with people getting out of the city due to Covid 19. Scott helped us carry the ice chests up the stairs. There are chairs sitting outside the doors to the rooms, and the other guests had stored their ice chests along the walkway adjacent to their doors. As one sits in a chair along the walkway, they look out over the driveway. Stored along the driveway are old appliances, tools, etc. My daughter stated the area is being used as an outdoor garage. People are allowing their dogs to poo in the dirt along the driveway, adjacent to the barbeque grills, and no one is picking up the poo. It is disgusting! There are broken down bikes leaned against the building. The volleyball court is missing a net. The water in the lake is down and the stairs leading to the dock are in a state of disrepair. The room itself is rustic. The swamp cooler doesn't do much to cool the room when the temperature is 100 degrees. The shower handle was wobbly and it was difficult getting warm water. The Wi-Fi is spotty (which we expected). There is a nice deck off the room with views of the trees. It is obvious money was spent on a website to attract higher end guests. I understand times are tough for those in the travel industry, but it costs nothing to keep a property neat and clean. If you are looking for a place to dock your boat, and you don't care about the condition of the property where you are staying, this is the place for you.…
What a wonderful place to stay. We had such a lovely time. Would highly recommend it. It was a nice peaceful getaway for 2. Our cabin overlooked the water and had a nice patio to sit and have some quiet time.
I think the proprietors could be a bite more hospitable. A few tweaks would make the property very pretty. Maybe a class on organization would be in order also. The kitchen is well stock with serving dishes and prep tools. The tables and chairs are really nice although not enough for 150 people.
Great location: clean and well equipped cabins and dock. Owners were friendly and easy to get a hold of etc. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin and also the 3 bedroom manufactured home. The cabins are cuter/nicer in looks but the 3 bedroom was clean and well equipped and roomy. And we were there to boat: so just wanted comfy and clean. ;). We will return!
Clean, comfortable vintage decorated knotty pine interior cabins with decks that overlook the lake. Boat dockage included in rental. Not modern but very welcoming with brass beds, bed quilts and small electric fireplace. Large communal deck with barbeques and clubhouse overlooking the lake as well as swimming pool. Pets welcome. Owners, Scott and Julie, cannot be more accommodating.
