If you are looking for something negative here you go hotshot the toilets need updated. Now on to business the rooms are clean and comfortable, beds are better than sleeping on the ground. 178 is a busy road but barely noticeable from the inn. Staff is better than any that would be found in a big city. They are all country folk with hearts of gold. If you are expecting roses and mints on your pillow case don't go here.

Stayed for three nights while I windsurfed nearby. Easy check n. Room was clean, AC was worked great, WiFi and TV were very good. Room is a bit sparse as far as outlets, no kleenix or phone. But bed was comfortable, refrigerator/freezer worked great and made coffee each morning in the room. The restaurant upstairs is wonderful. Tossed salad at your table along with cheese bread. Mushroom ravioli was excellent. Even comes with choice of dessert. Closed Monday and Tuesday. I would stay here again anytime I am in the area.

The Lodge is a pretty intriguing place. A family run Lodge & Restaurant overlooking Lake Isabella offers friendly hospitality in clean & spacious rooms with tasty home cooked comfort food. Very friendly staff and beautiful view of the lake. If you are going river rafting this is the place, definitely a must after a day on the lake or rafting the Kern River!
Coffee sevied in morning in a little room with microwave oven and refrigerator see pictures, No breakfast or lunch not available on site
I would recommend this to someone passing through or planning a stay, but expect more of a state park type of accommodation

The dinning room overlooks the lake from the second floor and really has the feeling of eating at a friend’s home. (see pictures) The food in the dining was excellent! Full bar.

Paradise Cove is probably not what it used to be 40 years ago. Yes rooms are older, but clean. The grounds aren't maintained well, there's an abandoned tennis court and an empty pool, but this place is just plain cool.

The person who checked us in didn't bother to wear a mask, and there was no plexiglass at the desk.

Nuts and crackers were on the floor upon arrival.

Coffee pot didn't fit in coffee maker and was dirty. Styrofoam cups still? Really?

Bathroom mirror dirty and faulty plumbing in shower with water spraying out where it shouldn't.

We left a note expressing our concerns. With COVID, this is a disconcerting place to stay. I'm just glad I'm not sick from staying there last week!

Beautiful view.

Booked over the phone in advance, and was told we could arrive to check in anytime from 1.30pm.
Arrived after this time in the afternoon and the place was completely deserted. Rang the bell several times, called the website number and the after-hours number, only to reach a machine. Looked around the property to try and find someone but couldn't locate anybody so just had to wait.
Eventually someone drove up and said he'd be up soon - didn't identify himself as staff until asked if he worked there. No apology for the amount of time we had waited.

Not given Wifi password at check in either, so had to call the number back (again it wasn't answered the first try) to ask for the password.
Wifi was dropping in & out all evening.

As it was a Monday the restaurant was closed, we only found this out by the sign hanging on the building - no information on the website about closure on these days, only that it is open to group bookings on these days (once I searched for this info). So come prepared with other food if you're staying here Mon or Tues.

Rooms were spacious, beds good. Shower sprayed all over the place, and the coffee machine leaked when we tried to use it so pulled the plug out of the wall so the water didn't drip into the electrics.

Unfortunately not a great experience for us, really poor customer service and left us with a pretty flat feeling about our stay here.

Just spent one night here as we were passing through, and would do so again. The motel was clean and the person who checked us in was friendly. It's across the road from the lake, but there was hardly any traffic, so the road wasn't an issue. Nice porch to sit out and look at the lake and the mountains (which we would have done if it hadn't been 102 degrees).

This weekend we stayed at the Paradise Cove campgrounds on Isabella Lake. Our hope was that we would find a closer, drive-up camping alternative to Lake Mojave on the Colorador River, which is where we usually go for our camping/wakeboarding trips. Unfortunately, this spot doesn't measure up. The campground was filthy--I couldn't believe how much litter was on the ground. There are very few trees, and therefore not much shade. Also, no privacy at the sites. The lake was OK, but the water wasn't clear and clean looking like Lake Mojave, and it was incredibly muddy near the shore. There are also lots of submerged trees in the lake, so you really have to be on the lookout while driving the boat. In spite of all that, we did manage to have fun wakeboarding, but we probably won't return to this lake. We'll try San Antonio Lake next.

We ended up stopping here as night was dropping hard and I was a little tentative on driving the dark, curvy road at night.
This is an interesting place directly across from Lake Isabella and a campground, with a fantastic view. We saw one other motel about a mile down the road, and after that was about 32 miles before the next one.
The proprietor was friendly and easy-going, although you have to go upstairs to the restaurant/bar area to check in, which wasn't readily apparent.
Our room was HUGE, very outdated, minimalistic as for the little amenities you get used to taking for granted while out and about...there was no phone, but the 'basics' were there.
I read another review this morning that mentioned this place must have had a heyday back in the road-trip-as-common days and I guess I'd have to agree....it just seems to have fallen by the wayside and into a state of 'hanging in there'. A little bit of a facelift would do a lot... that being said, we slept comfortably and were on our way the next morning.
The price seemed a little steep...but factor in the relative isolation (not a lot of nearby competition) and not having to drive into the darkness and it was worth it for us.

This place is all about LOCATION. We found it by chance on our way through the Sierra without any prebooked hotels. Usually we stay in 4 or 5 star properties, but Paradise Cove looked like a movie set from the street- so we gave it a try. Yes - it is not the Ritz. But: stay her for one night and you will never forget it. The view and the fresh air and the wilderness feeling are unbeatable. We forgot about many of the high end hotels we have stayed in - but we will never forget the view and the feel when stepping out on the porch of paradise cove in the early morning.
