We live very close to the Staybridge Suites and when my husband and I needed a comfortable "home away from home" last week while the drywall contractor worked on renovating our ceilings, we were oh-so-thrilled we chose to stay here. We visited various hotels in our neighborhood to check out the accommodations and prices and even before we checked in, we knew this was the most elegant value for the price. When I explained our situation to Mimi at the front desk, she was very eager to work with our situation, providing a flexible check-in and possible check-out time. Moises, apparently a new employee, showed us one of the 1 bedroom King bed suites, as well as a tour of the grounds. Elizabeth at the front desk was fabulous, as was everybody there. Such a friendly, customer service oriented staff! Housekeeping personnel was wonderful and when we noticed a very minor problem with the bathroom sink, a friendly maintenance was dispatched to our suite in less than 5 minutes. The morning breakfast buffet is really terrific, with just about everything you could think of ... although as a gluten intolerant person, it would have been nice to have a gluten free bread choice. But I did fine with fruit, yogurt and scrambled eggs. A surprise is that at 5:30 pm the dining/lounge area opens for and an included fixed menu dinner is served! A monthly calendar is posted on your kitchen refrigerator, so you can decide if you want to take advantage of this nice perk. A salad bar seems to be always included and it was quite nice! They also offered wine and beer! Our suite was immaculate, quiet, spacious, well equipped and I don't see how it could have been any nicer. It was supplied with a welcome packet which included coffee and some snacks. Oh! And the WiFi signal was strong and speedy! The grounds are lovely, with a pool, BBQ, basketball court, etc., but we "enjoyed??" 5 consecutive days of rain during our stay, so we weren't able to take advantage. We did visit the fitness center, though! If you're new to the area, I'd also like to let you know that the hotel is only about 1/4 mile or so from one of our major shopping/restaurant/cinema areas. You'll find a supermarket if you want to stock up your kitchen and there's a 22-plex cinema. You'll also find some popular name brand big stores (two of which include a supermarket) and other stores and shops. There's one of our favorite Italian restaurant chains there, along with other nice restaurants adjacent to the movie theater. If you're bringing the kids you'll find that popular pizza place/video lounge there too. The hotel seems to allow dogs, so if you're bringing yours, I'm happy to report that our city of Lake Forest has a great dog park VERY close to the resort! Our city also is the home of Serrano Creek Park, also close, where an old grove of Eucalyptus trees has been converted into a park with walking and equestrian trails (and with a private stable next to it, don't be surprised if you meet a horse and its human on the trail), kiddie play area, picnic benches and bathrooms. We also have a nice skate park nearby for your teens and their skate boards. So if our beautiful, clean, safe city of Lake Forest appeals to you or if you need to be in the Lake Forest/Irvine area for business, I highly recommend you come be our temporary neighbor and stay here at the Staybridge. Gee, if our home wasn't just 5 minutes away, we'd want to return for maybe another visit!

Gloria Wu and her incredible staff provided my family with a level of care that we could not have anticipated when we started our 10 week stay due to a slab leak at our house. Staybridge became our new home and we could not have asked for more. The team there were always helpful and friendly and the amenities from the breakfasts/dinners, free laundry, pool, gym, etc. all made our stay beyond comfortable. We were spoiled! Gloria on several occasions personally contacted us to make sure the hotel was meeting our needs. Taking care of my family was the most important consideration for me....it was also the most important consideration for the Staybridge East Irvine/Lake Forest team. I am extremely thankful and can not recommend the hotel enough!

We stayed two weeks at this location. It is a very safe location. The quality of the bed is excellent and we slept very well. The staff was very accommodating and friendly; the lobby, dining area and grounds were clean; food served for AM and PM was hot and of general good quality. Laundry facility was excellent. Carpet in the room seemed clean. This property is an excellent value. I would definitely stay again. Areas for improvement - Dog potty area has too much dirt and little grass. Having gravel in this area would be cleaner. Tile floor in kitchen and bath appeared clean but was very dirty when wiped with a wet cloth and cleaner.

Very happy with Staybridge suites at Lake Forest. Rooms are clean and reasonable size. Breakfast is very good (although as a UK visitor I am always amused to have to eat off cardboard plates and with plastic cutlery.) Hotel could do with having a proper bar. Enjoyable stay on business.

Staybridge Suites is my favorite hotel brand for business travel, and this property is an excellent example of how good the brand can be. I had a one-bedroom suite for a week, and it was really roomy, clean, and fresh-smelling – no overwhelming scent of deodorizer that I have found in other suites-style hotel rooms. Both the heating and air conditioning worked well, and the Wi-Fi was absolutely perfect – fast and solid. In fact, I noticed a Wi-Fi router right in the room, next to the desk. There is a fully equipped kitchen (but no oven), and coffee, tea, and a pack of popcorn are supplied. The front desk also gave me a nice little package of snacks and candies when I arrived, which was quite nice. The hotel provides complimentary breakfast and an evening reception that was sufficient to serve as dinner for me. Both were excellent. The breakfast bar offered eggs, a rotating selection of breakfast meats, pancakes or tater tots, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt, bread and pastries, a waffle maker, and even congee. Coffee, tea, fruit juices, and soft drinks were also available. In the evening, there is beer, wine, a salad bar, and a hot item. I tried the wings one night and chicken tenders another night, and even though they were a little dry, they did the job. The salad bar is nice and fresh. I took advantage of the FREE self-service laundry. There are three sets of washers and dryers, and they were all clean and well-maintained. The laundry room exited out into the pretty courtyard containing a basketball court, pool, spa, and barbecue grill area. It was too cold to use the pool, but I did have a chance to enjoy the spa. Some minor quibbles, but not serious enough to take away a star: 1. The rooms don’t have safes, so I had to secure my electronics and sensitive documents with my own locks. 2. The area is not really walkable, although there are sidewalks to a shopping and dining area about a mile away. It’s really best if you have a car here, although I used Uber the whole week and never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a pickup. 3. The toiletries are JR Watkins Aloe & Green Tea. They smell like mayonnaise, so I didn’t use them. Good for hotel cost-cutting, maybe, if guests don't want to use them, but not the best for hospitality. The lemon scent would have been preferable.
