Staying at the Inn is always a relaxing experience but make sure you check in on time to enjoy the roof top view before sunset. You will certainly feel relaxed hearing the sounds of the surf and enjoying a stroll long the beach. If you walk into town there are great restaurants and cool shops to enjoy. Of course if you love Gelato stop at Dolce Gelato for a delicious taste experience. Walk up the path to Las Brisas for a great margarita and delicious food. You will enjoy a wonderful time here.

Hotel's Favorite
Loved having a balcony room on the ocean. Very quiet except for the sound of the surf. Beautiful sunsets and views of the coastline in Laguna. Coffee and Tazo Tea in the lobby. A fresh brewed pot of mint tea delivered at night. Cookies in the evening. Wine and spread with views of the ocean. Lots included in this price of the room. Lovely stay. Staff is attentive and helpful.

I would really give this place 4.5 stars for the ocean view balcony rooms but trip advisor doesn’t allow that ranking. The Inn is a great option for those looking for a low key beachfront small hotel... we purchased the ocean view balcony- I would recommend this room category-we were in room 106- which offered beautiful views of main beach- the hallway is covered but semi outside- so it felt safe and stairs next to our room lead to the lower parking garage- easy to get to our car and to the beach- so easy!!! The hotel has someone stationed by those stairs with beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels- so you don’t have to worry about any of that!! Very convenient!!! The room itself was comfortable- awesome balcony- main stairs to public is outside of balcony about 25 feet away- so keep the shutters closed if you don’t want the public looking into your room- also note the AC is very loud when on- to the point you had to turn the TV way up to hear it... but it is nice to have the AC option- Surf and Sand doesn’t offer AC- just something to think about- and the waves are loud if trying to sleep with door open- peaceful to some- annoying to others... we didn’t mind it at all.. things to know: entry level village rooms- looked like motel rooms with parked cars directly in front of them. Pool view rooms- are just feet away from the pool- most appeared to either not have a patio- or the patio was actually the outdoor hallway- so you patio table and chairs are actually outside your front door- not private- this is why we splurged for the ocean view balcony room. The pool area is small- and the jacuzzi fits 3-4 people max- but both were open on our visit. The upstairs view lounge is also open- offering amazing views for those that don’t book the ocean view room- free wine from 5-6p daily... just sayin- do it right and the room price goes down- a lot!! We loved the laid back vibe of this Inn- it was cozy and nicely run. Being steps away from main beach was incredible- and we walked to dinner each night as there are dozens and dozens of options within 10 minutes walk... South of Nicks is amazing for Mexican and Nicks for American...

We were looking for a simple, relaxing, no hassle trip to the beach to a) just get out of the house, b) celebrate my husband’s birthday and c) celebrate a milestone anniversary that was necessarily ignored and left uncelebrated during the pandemic lockdown. We just wanted to lay around all day drifting in and out of sleep to the sound of the waves. The Inn delivered in EVERY way! With light traffic, the trip from LA was less than an hour. From allowing us to check in early to giving us our choice of rooms when we did check in, The Inn was extremely accommodating. Large, nicely appointed rooms, lovely balconies overlooking the beach and steps from town, coffee shops and a plethora of dining options - the location was perfection. It was obvious the staff were making a concerted effort to keep things clean and safe and we felt totally safe, health wise, in all areas of the hotel. In town was a different story - Orange County seems to believe that the pandemic is over. Large crowds in the restaurants, people rarely wearing masks and just a general ignorance of the severity of the problem. Which made splurging for a beachfront room and hanging out in that room for most of the trip well worth every dollar... We will be back!

The staff was really kind upon arrival and offered us a free upgrade. But for $950/2 nights I was expecting luxury rooms. The room was very run down. The carpets were damp and coming up by the entry, the bathroom door didn’t close all the way, the “king bed” was small, the smoke alarm was beeping and was then removed but not replaced. Overall the room was very shabby and motel-like for such a high price. Wonderful location, way too overpriced for the room.
