Our pristine 87-acre canyon oasis makes The Ranch at Laguna Beach one of Southern California's top resorts and spas. This romantic getaway, nestled just a short walk from one of Southern California's finest beaches, brings the best of coast and canyon together in one uniquely Laguna experience. Harvest Restaurant specializes in California style cuisine, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy food and drinks from the comfort of your room with in-room dining, or poolside soaking up the sun at the Pond Pool Bar. Spanning over 3,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, including four treatment rooms and a 24 hour fitness center, Sycamore Spa by Hudson captures the bohemian vibe of Laguna's laid-back beach lifestyle. Our 9-hole golf course is situated in what's arguably the most serene and natural setting in Orange County as it is carved into the naturally dramatic and lush walls of Aliso and Wood Canyons. Guests can also dine at Lost Pier Cafe, which is located at Aliso Beach.

The Jewel of Laguna Beach. I have visited The Ranch many times before for golf before they renovated this resort. The staff, the grounds, the accommodations, absolutely superb!!! We did not play golf this time but walked the course early in the morning, and the greens, fairways are true to form. The spa has trained professionals and my partner loved her experience. What she requested she received, tender loving care that made her feel her absolute best!! Definitely will return in the near future!!! A must visit for both visitors that live around here and out-of-towners!! And yes, the rates are reasonable!!

I had a very mixed experience at The Ranch. The valley in which the Ranch is located is very pretty with a well kept golf course and it is walking distance to a really beautiful beach. Laguna Beach in general is a great little community that feels like a getaway even though it is so close to Los Angeles and other urban spots in Orange County. What made the experience mixed were really the service and the rooms. My wife and I spent one night there and it was both the first night we had taken away from our two and a half year old and a mini-baby moon before our second comes shortly. The room was nice but definitely in an old structure that had been revamped, so the walls were really thin. Our room was also unfortunately next door to a room with a toddler that started screaming at 3 a.m. which because of the thin walls sounded like it was screaming in our room. It was really a shame for our one night away. Obviously, the hotel had no way of knowing that this toddler would be screaming in the middle of the night but when we were checking out, I let the woman at the front desk know without complaining but just with a caution that they should wait to put people in that room until the family next door checks out. This was the exchange that followed: Her: "Did you call us?" Me, very confused: "What?" Her: "Did you call to tell us about the child?" Me: "When? At 3 a.m.?" Her: "Yes, you should have called us. You should always call us. We could have calmed the guest." Me, seriously confused: "You could have calmed the toddler?" Her: "Yes, you should have called us." At this point, I just said okay and she told us that we were all checked out and good bye. The attempt to shame us was bizarre to say the least and left a seriously bad taste in my mouth. Having our own toddler at home, I am really curious to know how the staff thought they were going to calm the other guest's kid at 3 a.m. The only other and much more minor complaint was that we had a "garden view" room but the glass doors on our room opened only to a couple of rocking chairs with a building and wall with an AC compressor just a few feet in front of them. Not really a relaxing place to sit. Overall, the rooms and experience was not really up to expectations for the price and hype and a disappointing way to spend our one night away.

Serene setting with nothing but first-class everything. The decor is perfect SoCal and the setting is calming and beautiful. Now, the best part...waking up early and going to get THE BEST cinnamon bun at the restaurant and eat it with the sunrise next to a fire pit

Perfect place to meet friends in the afternoon for drinks and appetizers! Beautiful guitar playing and singers every afternoon while looking out over the golf course pine trees and mountains! Incredible that it feels like the Alps, with deer coming out at dusk, yet just next to a fun beach cove too!!! So relaxing. Great for friends and families alike! Cozy fire pits, s’mores available, cornhole toss, and of course, a lovely 9 hole golf course that even a ‘once or twice a year’ player like me can enjoy, without feeling intimidated! Haha. I swear, the course feels like I’m in Hawaii as you turn up the lush canyon, surrounded by steep mountains, and even the rushing stream has tortoises sunning themselves! Just gorgeous! Harvest Restaurant has a wonderful indoor and outdoor patio looking over the trees and canyon, and has great food for fancy OR casual breakfasts, lunches or dinners! The oval bar has sports on, so wherever you sit, Harvest has something for everyone! Cozy stone fireplace to sit by too on the cooler days. Book a room as a birthday or anniversary surprise and enjoy the pool, spa, golf or just have drinks on the upper patio and breath in the view and guitar music!

Really a somewhat hidden gem. The awesome 9 hole golf course, friendly staff, and great little beach breakfast spot, make this a great getaway. Just the right size to have all the amenities, but still small. Can't wait to return.
