If you’re relying on the montage name to mean good service, and a good product, you may be sorely disappointed. My mother chose the montage Laguna Beach for her 102nd birthday brunch at her age, she wanted a tablecloth on her table and to sit inside I contacted the hotel and was assured it would happen, pick the table and confirmed all of this when we arrived not only was there no tablecloth, our brunch was served on a bear table without even a placemat Despite the fact, there were six or eight servers standing together laughing. I had to literally wave my arms to place an order since they were aware my mother was 102. I assume they would be aware that she needed to order within an hour of arriving, but that was naïve on my part kind of lack of attention continued throughout the lunch, requiring me to literally wave somebody down despite the fact that our reservation was at two in the afternoon, and they were very few people dininglittle things like ordering decaf coffee that came cold we’re so disappointing you can’t ring the bell and do a 102nd birthday over again but the montage should be ashamed of themselves for $532 was worse than we gone to Denny’s…

I have been going to the loft for many years now. The food is amazing and the view is top notch. I always ask to be seated with Stacey as my server if I can. She has a great demeanor and always makes me feel like a VIP. laguna beach is a great town for brunch, but if you want to get away from the crowds and have an elevated experience try the Loft. Hint park in the beach parking it’s cheaper than valet.

It was spectacular! The food was beyond expectations and the service was 5 star. My favorite dish was the coffee steak and the caramel sauce that accompanied it. To top it off, the desserts were amazing, especially the molten lava cake.

I came with my brother and mom for her birthday and we were immediately greeted very warmly. The staff was very professional and accommodating to our needs and making sure we had the best experience possible. Specifically, our server Jamie and the server assistant were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, the coffee steak was my favorite; probably the best steak I’ve had. Overall, an amazing dinner experience that I would recommend to anyone.

We ate at Talay and it was amazing. The food was great. The view is perfect and Jed was fantastic. We will come back next summer if they have the pop up again. The Thai food was really good and we loved every dish we had. They also had a great kids menu.

I want to start by saying that we are not the typical customer for this resort. Prior to this stay, the most expensive hotel we'd ever stayed at was about $600/night, give or take. This hotel was more than twice that price. But my wife and I, who'd had a courthouse wedding 10 years ago, chose to have a big splurge—the kind of experience you remember for the rest of your life. And we definitely will. Every "touch" (that is, every interaction we had with any type of staff member, from housekeeping to the concierge to the pool waitstaff to the spa personnel) was… not "good," not "great," but exceptional. EXCEPTIONAL! The special requests for our anniversary weekend were fulfilled (champagne and strawberries in our room on arrival). The service was responsive and with a smile. The staff moves out of your way as you walk around the property. (That part is a bit much for my personal taste. I'm not royalty, but hey. I did spend an obscene—for me—amount of money, so I just rolled with it). The bed was great. Firm but comfortable. When my wife wanted something softer, they seamlessly put a down feather topper on the bed while we were dining at an on-property restaurant. The turndown service at night delighted us, with truffles made by the Montage chocolatier. Yes. This resort has a chocolatier. THAT'S the type of place it is. The views? Remarkable. Never mind that they have uplights on the whitecaps that converge right in front of the Mosaic pool so that they appear to glow in the dark. Never mind the twice a day housekeeping. The evening visit is called "turndown service," but unlike the turndown service I've had in New Orleans, it's more than just putting a chocolate on your pillow and folding the bed covers down. It's a second housekeeping visit. Fresh towels for your discarded ones. A freshly made bed. New bottles of water. The works. Never mind that every employee asks if you're celebrating something, and when they hear it's a milestone anniversary, they reappear with chocolate-covered strawberries and a chocolate emblem with "Happy Anniversary" emblazoned on it. Never mind that they comped a $75 bottle of bubbly in our room. Like I said: It's the big leagues. This is how the ultra-rich live. It was really fun visiting that world for a bit. The grounds are stunning. Much of the lower area above the beach is a public park that the Montage cares for. And then, of course, the beach is public. The views of the Pacific from our room were expansive and gorgeous, and—if I haven't mentioned it already—the service was phenomenal. PHENOMENAL. Special shout-out to Shelley at the Montage Spa. She and her team (notably Christie and Aurora) were just awesome. :) …
