Stayed three nights, rustic cabin and area for tent for 5 adults and 4 young children. Our first KOA campground and we were all impressed. The site was clean, including the bathrooms, and other visitors were pleasant. There were several activities for the kids: games, ping pong table, pool, nice playground, and this cool bouncy thing. Nearby is Manresa Beach and Nissan Marks State Park hiking. The staff we interacted with were pleasant and seemed to enjoy their jobs. My only complaint was the bunkbeds are not "grandma-friendly" LOL. Would gladly go again.
Site is interesting and we lucked out on some great weather and last minute. We booked a deluxe cabin and everything matches KOA standards. Staff was nice, but we had the unfortunate incident of someone stealing our children's bikes over night. I woke up at 6am and saw the bikes were missing. Site has only one way in and one way out with a camera. Spoke to manager, he explained that it could be homeless and there are trails for them to enter on the side. Didn't really care to look and seemed like this happens regularly. I did some recon and didn't notice any bike trails out towards the train tracks, doesn't seem to fit explanation, plus it was two bikes taken with a bunch of camping gear out for them to take as well(not taken). Seems like this is a recurring issue with this site. Did not feel safe or feel like it was even taken seriously. They have bike rentals and they didn't even offer to accommodate my kids to help improve their experience. Just a lack of respect for their customers safety and property. Quiet hours are not strictly enforced. We chose to stay closer to the activities to make it easier on the kids. Nicer sites, but you just deal with noise to the later hours. They even keep the lights on in the area to invite people to play cornhole/ladderball/bocce ball past quiet hours. Place definitely has potential, but I wouldn't ever return based on our experience. You pay extra for KOA's reputation, but the lack of safety and security on this site makes this one a pass.…
Checked in last night (site 158), e-bikes stolen before morning. Talked to the manager who said that this happens all the time. No one told me that when we checked in. Said that they have a security patrol during the night because of the problem but, that they only have him for most of the night.
We got a dog park attached to our campsite! Gorgeous location. Close to beach and short drive to Santa Cruz or Monterey. Very clean. Very kind staff and great activities for the kids. Will definitely be back!
This place is enormous and feels like a city. Tons of kids riding bikes all over the place, barking dogs, screaming kids and parents, loud music and TVs blaring...top it off with dirty showers and it was the most expensive campground I’ve ever stayed in! Nice pool, but crowded...expensive laundry facilities... way over priced for this...I was expecting a nice place. We were very disappointed
We’ve booked a deluxe cabin for one night and were informed the day before driving down that we cannot use the facilities until 3pm (check in is at 4pm). Since we are only staying one night, it’s a waste of money if we can’t arrive before then and use the pool. So basically, we are paying over $400 dollars to use the facilities for a few hours in the evening. I expected more from this property and better customer service. When asked why they said they had a policy change starting this year, but there is nothing on there website. I got a rude response - no customer service at all. This also means that guests are also not allowed to use the facilities after 11am on day of check out. Very disappointing - more disappointing is the customer service. I hope we have a good time tomorrow, but I am not hopeful based on their communications thus far. I will write a new review on Tuesday after our stay.…
This KOA is very well-maintained, beautifully landscaped and has a wide range of facilities. We stayed for five nights and our ‘pull-through’ patio site was great. With easy access to the local beach, where we could take our dog, the only problems we encountered were due to the Californian COVID restrictions at locations outside the park. If we return to this area, we would choose to stay here again.
Terrible stay again. Stayed in 3 Airstreams last 4 months. Each one has problems. First time, the heater didn't work but they fixed it and it was fine for our stay (A03). Very poor tv reception and no wifi reception. Second time (A02) the fridge did not work for entire trip, no TV reception at all, no wifi reception. They couldn't fix it and lucky that we had a cooler. This trip (A05), the heater stopped working both nights despite someone came to fix it many times. The assisting manager was rude and kept asking us to acknowledge that the (small, super noisy and half broken) spare heater was provided and it is beyond their control that things are broken. We woke up cold with 2 toddlers who couldn't go back to sleep both nights. Also we all had to cramp up in the same bed. Just like other reviewers, she (the assisting manager) took notes and contact details and mentioned that the manager will contact us but we heard nothing so far. I guess they don't really care. I do not believe that they actually do any maintenance or fix the issues with these Airstreams at all. If you go, expect nothing except an Airstream with a bed to sleep on.…
Great KOA, one of the best I've stayed at but the advertised high speed internet is not. It is capped at 4MB and on days where there are more than 50% occupancy this drops to nothing at times. Its the reason I wont be coming back here sadly. The staff even agreed with me that it was poor!
We had a great experience here for our family vacation and daughter’s birthday celebration! Even during this pandemic, the kids were able to enjoy hiking, biking, outdoor games, swimming, and short walk to the beach! The campsite is clean and spacious. You’re able to social distance from other families even with many guests there. TheIr staff provided great service and even deliver items from their store directly to your campsite! This trip was definitely a memorable experience for our family! Thank you!
