Nestled amidst scenic views, La Quinta Resort & Club, a Curio Collection by Hilton, offers an engaging atmosphere with live music that enthralls many guests, although a few find its charm dimmed by dated decor. While the resort's cleanliness and multiple pools garner positive remarks, some visitors express disappointment with the value, pointing to steep pricing and unmet luxury expectations. Rooms are often described as spacious but have received criticism for decor and cleanliness issues. The service shines with staff praised for their dedication, despite occasional lapses in professionalism or speed.

If I wanted to go to the hell hole that is Disneyland during Spring Break, I would’ve booked a trip there. Turns out I didn’t need to. La Quinta during Spring Break is just like Disneyland minus the crap rides and overpriced food. Am I being fair? Not totally. The grounds of La Quinta are great, the setting is fantastic and Adobe is a great Mexican restaurant. There are just way too many people. Kids everywhere and if you’re not at a pool by 9:00, good luck getting a seat. There are lines everywhere…20 minutes for morning coffee, 25 minutes for food and drinks by the pool. And avoid the main pool at all costs. It’s like a daycare center.

Thank you, Greg, for taking the time to share your experience. While we're glad you enjoyed our beautiful grounds and delicious onsite dining, we're truly sorry to hear about the shortcomings you encountered due to the higher volume of guests during spring break. What you've described doesn't reflect the level of environment we strive to maintain at our resort, and we will be sharing your comments with our Management Team to learn how we can better manage these situations in the future. We hope you will consider visiting us again to enjoy the relaxing getaway you expected and deserve.

Hotel's Favorite
We ended up staying for 4 nights in May - originally only planned for 2 nights - but after a bad hotel experience in San Diego, we drove back to La Quinta to finish our holiday off perfectly. We stayed in a King Poolside Casita, room numbers 871 & 857, both of which were perfect. The hotel grounds are huge, with lots of areas to walk around, several on site restaurants, two main pools (one is adult only) in addition to those right outside the casitas, and plenty of parking. Although we didn't eat in the restaurants (due to other plans) we did enjoy room service and The Marketplace shop which has so many options for snacks and great ice cream! Neither pool outside our casitas were ever busy, plenty of towels and sun loungers around to enjoy the sunshine - or to hide in the shade!! During our stay the weather was consistently around 35c during the day, but having the pool right outside our room was the perfect way to cool off. This is a less popular time to visit Palm Desert due to hot weather - but we loved it!! Both rooms were brilliant, with plenty of space and a big king sized bed. The bathroom has amble space with a generous sized bath and separate shower. There was an iron and ironing board in the room, aswell as hair dryer, safe, coffee machine and decent sized fridge. Only con is irresponsible dog owners. Lot of people bring their dogs, and we enjoyed seeing them all, but the amount of people we saw letting their dogs poop without picking up is so irresponsible, but not the hotels fault. The hotel is a great hub for exploring the area (recommend Smoke Tree Stables, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tram) or for relaxing around the pool while looking at the mountains that backdrop the hotel. We can’t recommend this hotel enough, and we will definitely be back!

The cart traffic in room areas 800-1600 is annoying and constant all day in guest areas. Other hotels have perimeter access behind guest areas for carts. Hotel garden are gorgeous! The scent of orange trees is intoxicating . Food is good at the Mexican restaurant, chicken enchilada verde are yummy! The marketplace has slow service 15 min to get a coffee this morning as the older gal making the coffees spent more time yacking than making the coffee. Rooms are clean but tired need a refresh. Trying spa on Sunday. The general manager should spend some time on balcony in 1669 to see just how many carts go by these rooms it’s at least a cart every 3 min. Too much-need a back entrance

Parts of this hotel are excellent. The tennis courts, the grounds, the setting etc. However parts are basically tired/shabby! Mid century architecture abounds in the area but you dont expect it to extend to your bathroom ! Ours looked like it was put in in 1950 complete with a wierd shower/toilet combo! All of this in a strange corridor behind the bedroom which was part Psycho part Shining in its strangeness. Bar service ranged from mild disinterest to full on surly and was not helped by overpriced drinks (price+tax+service+"do you want to leave a tip?" - no i dont!) served in plastic glasses!! Who does this? Answer no one! Ok maybe a 5 year olds party. Reception service was ponderous with Post Office style queuing and woe betide anyone who stepped forward before being called. Whilst some reception staff were excellent (lady with blonde hair) others were basically unhelpful or ill informed, or both. Main pool warm but cracked concrete abounded and a lime chunk and a used plaster sat defiantly poolside for all 5 days of our visit. Bizarre sign gave phone numbers of nearest hospitals in font size 100 which added to the somewhat Eastern European atmosphere . Breakfast surreal and on first day waiter bought bill before bringing food which was a first. In conclusion its very much a Resort hotel coasting on past glories - a luxury 5 star hotel it aint! However area and setting stunning and did not dissapoint in any way. Tennis at Indian Wells drop dead amazing, cable car to snowline a must and tour of Hollywood stars houses wierdly fascinating, even Pickleball way less tragic than i imagined!

The resort was full and it showed with slowdown in service. Marketplace was very slow. There was a large cockroach in my room that the front desk could only send housekeeping to kill and could offer no other remedies. It was a little sassy, disappointing and perhaps not worth a visit for the price we paid. The walls were very thin, you can hear everything. Would stay off peak for reasonable prices but not for high peak surged pricing

I stayed at La Quinta Resort many times over the past 38 years going back to when the Vossler family owned the property. I called it six star back then. We stayed there in 2015 and I was not disappointed however sad to say the glory days may be gone. I specifically called in @ 9:30 am the day of arrival to say we cannot stay upstairs due to my family member using a walker. Of course, that was exactly what we were assigned. Waited until the room was changed…we originally had Queen beds but nothing downstairs was available. The hotel placed us in a Spa Villa king bed. Nice room very dated, furniture chipped, dirty area rugs and carpet, ceiling filters dirty, drapes dirty. Overall not what I expected. When I got home I had bug bite tracks and I reported that to Security who treated me as if I was lying. I did not ask for anything just reporting the possibility. The weather was wonderful and the grounds never disappoint however they need a facelift in this room- starting with a deep cleaning.

I would agree with many of the recent comments/reviews: La Quinta overall is a beautiful property with a historic vibe but with rooms that could benefit from updates. I would probably rate La Quinta 4 ½ out of 5. My partner and I stayed for two nights. We paid for the first night with an AMEX Aspire free night certificate and the second with "cash" for $605. As holders of the AMEX Aspire credit card, we anticipate a $200 resort credit (paid by AMEX) that will help offset that "cash" amount. As Hilton diamond members, we also received a $30/day food and beverage credit. We booked a standard two queen bed casita and were upgraded to a deluxe two queen bed casita. So, our final outlay was modest, though the per night rate is quite high. Our casita, 603, had a private enclosed patio, which was important because it opened on to a large parking lot. What we liked: --Beautiful, sprawling grounds that are impeccably maintained by an army of staff. You could probably rack up 10,000 steps just exploring the property. --Large and exceptionally well equipped and maintained fitness center. --Great pools, both small and large. --Nice restaurants, especially Adobe Grill, with open air seating on "the plaza." --Spacious and comfortable casita. Quiet and effective HVAC. Consistent high speed wi-fi. --Staff were for the most part responsive and friendly even via the texting function. What should improve: --While spacious and comfortable, our room was showing plenty of wear and tear, though everything was clean. Decor borders on "shabby chic." There were no USB outlets. Power outlets were scattered around, but many weren't functional when plugged in because of loose connections. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return, even in spite of the high nightly rate.

2 stars = poor, that’s what is an adequate rating. Could go on with how outdated it is, how dividing doors between rooms don’t keep any noise out, how weirdly the bed sheets are done and how your body for sure touch the old comforters covered by the sheets, how staff doesn’t care when you bring up an issue, but to drive it all home quickly: Sharing some photos which show a vent right above the bed. Whatever that mold and dust and dirt is, it’ll blow right at you. That vent showcases everything that’s wrong with the rooms. There’s a reason why it used to be a Waldorf property, but Waldorf simply gave up on it and didn’t want to be affiliated anymore.

The public spaces are beautiful. The casitas are largely a lovely, private stay. Mine, for my one night stay, had a strong smell of cat urine. They do allow animals on the property. I have no idea if cats are allowed (dogs are for sure) but as a pet owner, I knew what the smell was. Had I been there for a longer stay, I would have asked to be moved. The private courtyard was so pleasant. The room was clean (though dated). Other than the really strong smell, the room was very clean. I had such a nice walk and enjoyed the shops on property. I have stayed here many times for corporate events. It’s a beautiful property and I hope to be able to give it another try.
