Okay first of all i have to say it took 7 or so hours to get checked into the wrong room but okay its just one of the many days but no, boy was i wrong. After being able to get into the room we actually booked took 5 and a half hours not considering the fact they gave our room away to other people before we got to move to the new room which mind you had no internet service at all and not to mention the pool lights turned off and my kids slipped and fell on their heads only to get to the shower which being poorly designed you can get in but not out which would be downright dangerous for an older person and that the pools here are not regulated and cleaned almost ever. The one redeeming quality for this disappointment of a resort is that the grounds are beautiful when they are not being ignored by the staff.

I just got married in the El Presidente suite. Thank you, thank you. We had a small private elopement ceremony for our closest relatives. Relax, everyone wore masks. El Presidente has a main suite, a guest house, and a private pool and hot tub. It was the only functional hot tub in the whole of La Quinta because quarantine protocols in California forbid comunal hot tubs. I can't imagine anything surviving in that thing, since it's the most heavily chlorinated water I've ever dipped my sinful flesh into, but the pool was perfect. There's a kitchen with a full-size fridge and a microwave so you can chill your drinks and open the take-out you bring with you. The Keurig could use a thorough cleaning, or be replaced altogether. There's a TV in every room. The remotes come out of a sanitized bag and there are alcohol wipes everywhere. It was strange checking into such a large and fancy room without someone showing you around, but such are the COVID times. You only get one digital key for your entire party. That means that only one phone opens the doors. If you want more keys you have to go to the front desk. There are loungers by the pool, and I recommend bringing your bluetooth speaker so you can properly chill. I should point out though, that the hot tub is in view of at least one nearby balcony, but overall, El Presidente has to be one of the nicest hotel rooms in the western U.S.

Meander around LaQuinta's grounds on its many pathways and you'll enjoy the Spanish casita architecture and the views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. Those same pathways become a maze for kids on scooters with many families bringing scooters with them for that use. Some kids eschewed masks to get a better view of their routes. We even saw 3 kids on scooters at night by themselves, all looking to be about 5 to 7 year olds, illuminated by our headlights on the busy, narrow, dark Avenida Obergon, a street used primarily by cars to access parking in the resort (so be alert). We even observed a kid riding her scooter to the top of the walkway at the Adobe Grill at dinner time and riding it downhill full speed as guests were coming the other way. If the kids are not on their scooters, they are enjoying the resort's many pools and their celebratory screams can be heard early in the morning as you sip your coffee on your patio or when having your moonlight cocktails around your outdoor fireplace if you have a Starlit Casita. Understandably, these families really enjoy the resort. There really aren't any limitations on their use of the property. If you are doing a couples trip and want a more relaxed ambience and peaceful stay here, you definitely want to avoid periods when kids are out of school or weekends. If you choose a starlit casita around Thanksgiving like we did, you could be listening to spashing and screaming on your nice outdoor during the best times to use that space including right before bedtime. From a pandemic perspective, staff appeared to be following covid protocols. Most guests wore masks in public areas but there were those who "forget" their masks or didn't realize their nostrils and mouth are both used for breathing. Some kids and teens, without parents in public areas, chose not to wear masks. A few guests interpret 6 feet distance to be 6 infant feet in keeping with the resort's family orientation. Aside from some of the guests, the staff seemed to get the concept of social distancing and masks. Check in was super good in how it was managed and distanced. The outside tables at Morgans had a relatively adequate amount of space between them. However, we observed some of the tables at Adobe to be too close together for our taste so we ordered take out at the hostess desk and carried back it back to our room. Room service delivery was done well and food acceptable. Our casita was spacious and very clean with abundant hot water, great pressure, and great HVAC. The outdoor fireplace, seating area, and dining area were wonderful every morning and night for very private dining with nice views. Bed was respectably comfortable as were the pillows. Sheets covering duvet and mattress were good quality. Kuerigs are used for in room coffee (Green Mountain) with Coffeemate. We bought our preferred coffee brand as well as milk at Vons which we kept in the casita's fridge. Housekeeping was on call to provide whatever you needed if you choose not to request daily housekeeping service. We were able to find parking near our casita in the old section daily and would characterize that parking as limited and tight. But it`s a short walk from the larger ballroom parking lot - and even a shorter walk to one of the many swimming pools from your casita. The resort's visual ambience led to an episode of the Bachelorette being filmed on property but ironically, it plays more like an all inclusive family resort during peak periods and not a romantic retreat for couples. So if you are looking for the latter, try it while kids are in school.

Everyone who works at La Quinta Resort did a wonderful job to make our stay memorable. The restaurants took Covid precautions seriously and had tables placed throughout the beautiful property. The tennis manager Kevin was super helpful in helping us with court reservations and clinics. La Quinta has pickelball courts too which was super fun. The resort is so gorgeous and amazing in every way! Thank you.

I was debating before booking, but this was the best decision I have made, thanks to Facebook HHonors group people for recommendations! From the check in and upgrade to spa suite with fireplace to gorgeous grounds and pools, this was a great stay, kids loved it, parents loved it. We already thinking about our return visit here at La Quinta!
