Excellent stay at a lovely resort. Great check in by Denisse who selected a great room for us. Grounds are lovely. Pools are clean. A spa broke near our room and we were moved to another nice area to avoid the construction noise and debris. A nice touch with assistance by Pepe. Workers are constantly tidying up around this large resort. It takes an army, so expect some lawn mowers, blowers etc from time to time. Plenty of pools to choose and the water temp is perfect, even on a very hot day. Rooms are nice but due for a freshening, ex: carpets in both rooms was fairly worn and painting is needed on some of the windows, doors and trim...not bad, but could use a little attention to stay top notch. Food at restaurants was good.

Hotel's Favorite
La Quinta Resort is unlike any property in the country. Around 50 pools and hot tubs, you can always walk to a private pool. dozens of acres of perfectly maintained grounds. Unique restaurants. Friendly service. Excellent gym with many complementary classes. Tennis. Golf. All surrounded by dramatic landscape. Very private, with few guests spread out in individual casita-style rooms, all on ground level with private gardens or pool views. You can't understand how unique and special this resort is without staying there. I highly recommend it. As other reviewers have noted, the rooms are "dated." But not really. The beds are standard Waldorf beds, which means extremely comfortable. Heating and A/C works well, and can manage summer in the desert. Fireplace in the room. Bathroom is large with separate toilet and shower areas. Water pressure is low in the sink, but the shower has very high pressure, as expected in a luxury property. Entire room perfectly clean. Coffeemaker is Keurig, and it should be a Nespresso at a Waldorf. Everything is classic, and I hope the location-specific decorative tile in the bathroom is never remodeled away. This hotel is unique, and that means some things are not completely modern. So if you're coming from somewhere like the Waldorf Beverly Hills, the room will be a downgrade. If you're coming from anywhere else, the rooms are excellent. Clean, private, quiet, spacious, and very comfortable. As an aside, I wish Team Member were not required to wear masks, unless they choose to. It's too hot, and, to me, forcing employees to wear masks while they landscape or do other work in 100 degree heat is not only completely unnecessary but borders on cruel. Hilton needs to update its nationwide policy to, at minimum, exempt all vaccinated staff from wearings masks, and preferably completely drop mask mandate, in line with CDC guidelines. Trust the Science.

I am sure timing helps, but from the moment we arrived we have received the high level of service you would expect from a Waldorf hotel. We arrived on a Wednesday and had a short wait to be checked in. They didnt have a special check in for Hilton Diamond members, but the check in staff were polite, professional and efficient. Prior to our arrival i reserved a table in both of the on site restaurants - The Adobe and the Morgan Grill. Both were excellent and highly recommend them. The outside table for the Adobe had amazing views as the sun set. The hotel is dog friendly and the dogs are also treated well. You can even book a pet massage. We originally booked the hotel for three nights but enjoyed the stay so much, we booked another night so that we stayed four nights. Just demonstrates how much we enjoyed the stay here.

Just had another too short stay at La Quinta. Our fifth or sixth time. We love it because it's dog friendly, the grounds are expansive, meticulously maintained, the casitas feel very private, you don't have guests stacked on top of each other (perfect for our covid era), the staff is always professional and accommodating and the setting is gorgeous. The last two times we've stayed in the "vintage" casitas, they are our favorite. True, sometimes the doors don't close right (old plaster walls, wood and heat and the years), some rooms show more wear and tear, and the fridges always make noise -- but this place dates back to the 1920's, so what do you want? If I've had a complaint, they fix it promptly. it is a huge property and can't imagine the staffing it takes to keep things humming. Yes, check in can be delayed. This last time it was going to be about 45 min and we had our large elderly dog with us and it was 104 so they found us another room right away, so we could settle. Thank you Patricia and the other gentleman whose name I'm forgetting. Anyway, we love this place and hope to stay longer next visit.

we really liked the property, the historic feel. However, check-in was very slow, there was a long line. We loved the casita concept for the rooms, but we felt the rooms need a fluff, they are not Waldorf Astoria standards. The beauty salon has excellent service. We attended a wedding so it was a very short trip, so we did not have a chance to experience the restaurant. Next time.
