the views, food and service were great. I was sorry there weren't any sidewalks to walk around the lake but the hotel and ambience were great. I would return when the weather is cooler so I could sit outside.

We scheduled a two night trip lake side to celebrate a special occasion. Booked the room directly from Bianca, telling her what our needs were and that we would be traveling with our dog. She gave us advise, and we made reservations. I received a welcome email the morning of our trip telling us how they were looking forward to our visit, with a confirmation number. After days of planning, shopping, making arrangements for house care etc… we packed our car, our dog and hit the road. So excited to sit by a lake for a couple nights and celebrate. Traveling from San Diego we get a phone call, someone named Paul. I excitedly tell him we are on our way. At that point he informs me that they have no room for us…..I was in total disbelief. He is explaining to me that they will put us at executive suites for the night. We weren’t going to La Quinta for an occasion, we were going to experience their destination and relax by a lake….. he said he could comp us per Pam, a room but not for another month when they were less busy….we took the next exit and headed back home. Never, ever have I experienced this. My assumption is that there was a musical festival and someone took cash to give away our room. To add insult to injury, no one returned emails, no care or concern that they treated us this way and had no intention of making up for it……..f

Should've believed the reviews. This hotel room was shockingly dirty: surfaces everywhere were sticky and covered in hair. The bureau had some kind of green, chunky substance all over it; couldn't tell if it was from food or a human body. The carpets and drapes had stains all over them. I pulled back the sheets and saw that they were full of holes. As everyone else has mentioned, the beds and pillows are noticeably old and used. If you mention anything to staff and ask for housekeeping, you'll be ignored. When you check in, they give you a letter that blames COVID and says they only do housekeeping periodically (???).

My wife and I stayed in one of their 2 private bungalows. The lake view was great, and the hotel could have been really nice but it is very dated. Lots of deferred maintenance. The locks still used keys rather than updated security cards and what could of been a lovely patio had a glass walk in door with only a single lock that anyone could break into. The restaraunt was nice, with a big outdoor patio on the lake. However our breakfast was served to another tablel and they had to remake ours. This same thing happened to another table near us where the breakfast was served to another table. There is no way this is a 4 star hotel . The staff is pleasant enough even though it took 8 hours to get fresh bath towels which they do not replace unless you requet it. No daily maid service. It can really be a nice place if owners would spend money on a myriad of upgrades, including simply paint and patching.

We lived here many years but now back for a visit and find The Chateau at Lk La Quinta charming. Room 203 is clean, with all amenities and the bed is very comfortable which was a concern having read some previous reviews. We couldn’t be more pleased and will stay here again. The view from our private balcony is sweet and a special treat was sitting out by the patio fires and heaters on a cold night with a nice hot toddy! A great find!

This place was advertised as a four star hotel that had been newly renovated. Truth be told an employee spilled the beans and told us that the mattresses hadn’t been replaced in 7 years!! The beds were lumpy and when you climbed in they sank. Pillows too were awful. There is also a resort fee and for what...a tiny pool and no extra amenities. We checked out a day earlier and found a cheaper better option in Indian Wells. Skip this dud at all costs. You’ll be glad you did.

Great place. Very nice people working here. Facilities are great as are the rooms. Only slightly disappointed that the really cool looking bar and restaurant were closed Sunday and Monday. Otherwise it was a great place. Really quiet, slightly hard to find, but a great choice in the Palm Springs área. Only dinged one star as the restaurant and bar were closed. On all other levels, it was great.

WOW 💜 WOW 🐾 WOW!!! I don’t even know where to begin as this boutique hotel is a wonderful hidden treasure from checking in to the very second we left. First impression is to drive up and you see a beautiful Château in the middle of LaQuinta, on a lake! Just gorgeous! Entering the lobby to check in I was greeted by the kindest man, Paul. He was so friendly and helpful upon checking in. As he handed me the keys to “ Bungalow 2” (you’d love this little hideaway) he popped a bottle of champagne, filled glasses and off I went to my room with my pups in tow. The private little path to B2 was special in itself and the room was just perfect with the balcony over the lake. The bed cozy, the powder room lovely and clean and the little patio just perfect for my pups to explore. The location and view of B2 is fabulous! The grounds are just lovely with a grassy park like setting and a lovely table we ate at right at the waters edge. The restaurant staff at Mélange is as wonderful as the food! Micheal, the manager…what a class act and quite the host. Made me feel like so comfortable and arranged to make the dates that I was so craving but not on the menu at the hour I was lunching…dates arrived to my surprise and were off the charts delicious. Not only that, I walked away after I ordered to take my dogs along the water only to return to a plate of bacon for my pups. It’s the little things..🐾💜🐾 The food is unbelievable! Every appetizer and meal was mouth watering delicious. DELICIOUS! The meals were served by two young men, Ethan and Mario. These two couldn’t have been more polite and helpful. I had my little dogs and both of these men were so kind making sure they had their water bowls and my champagne 😉 Service was just perfect. Can’t wait to go back to specially for dinner! The pool and jacuzzi area is so pretty and quaint. Cabanas with thick cushions and a jacuzzi that was warm and clean. This visit was so perfect and the location so beautiful. So much so we met with a realtor as we really want to move to this lake. Until then, I’ll be back sooner than later. If you’re looking for a quaint, quiet and romantic getaway with wonderful staff, you’d be hard pressed to find a nicer hidden gem. Thank you to all we met and made our stay so memorable.

I saved this hotel a few years back as a place I would like to stay. On a whim, we decided the same day to drive out. Super cute place and very friendly and happy staff. I love the little outdoor seating area over the lake. I like places that have little nooks and coves to enjoy. The pool is small, however very well appointed with very nice lounge chairs and umbrellas. We enjoyed the Deluxe Lake View with a balcony and found it charming. The cocktail menu was fun, I tried the blood orange martini and it was yummy! Super glad we finally made it.

There is a lot to like about this boutique hotel but the management needs to step up its game. The location on Lake La Quinta is picturesque and the basic layout of the hotel is very appealing. We were staying in Room 108, which is on the first floor just a few doors down from the entrance way. The room and bathroom were a good size; it featured both a patio facing the lake and a fireplace -- neither of which we used as, with outdoor temperatures hovering around 110 we had no interest in sitting outside much less making a fire. Also, blessedly, the AC in our room functioned just fine. AC malfunction is evidently a real issue with this property. Aside from the other TA reviewers who mentioned it, the AC in the lobby and restaurant were not working during our 3 day visit. We'd not planned to eat in the restaurant, so we did not care but it's notable that AC problems appear to be a chronic issue. Other less satisfactory aspects of our visit included: (a) The lock on the French doors leading out to our patio was broken. Any one determined to intrude into the room could have forced the doors. (b) The weakest WiFi signal that I have encountered in years in any hotel on any of the 4 continents where I have visited. The signal regularly just cut out. Even when you had WiFi, it took forever -- and this was just for checking email or reading the news, not video streaming, which we did not try. (c) Even in this pandemic era of reduced housekeeping, the housekeeping at The Chateau was not acceptable. The room has bare wood plank flooring that must not have been swept or washed in weeks; I'd walk barefoot from the bathroom after a shower into the bedroom and my feet were instantly dirty. There was a large volume of accumulated dust on the blades of the overhead ceiling fan; again, more than would have accumulated in our 3-day visit. The handle on our toilet was loose to the point of almost falling off; surely if the maid had cleaned the bathroom between when the last guests had checked out & we arrived, this problem would have been identified and fixed before we checked in. Happily, once we did report the problem, it was rectified within a few hours. (d) More evidence of lax attention by housekeeping related to the Keurig machine in our room. It's nice that they included it but clearly housekeeping had not paid any attention to making sure that the necessary supplies were stocked. Of the 5 capsules in our room, there was 1 regular coffee (i.e., with caffiene), 2 decafs, and 2 for tea. There were no coffee cups and, although there was sweetener and containers of cream, there were no stirrers. (d) Similarly, there were no glasses or plastic cups stocked in the room. This is basic stuff for hospitality before a new guest checks in. We got a very good rate for this room -- not surprising since July is definitely off-season for a visit to La Quinta. But, regardless, these flaws are matters of basic housekeeping that should apply regardless of the rate. Despite these issues, I am giving the hotel a 3-star rating based on the size of the room & the setting.
