We were a little hesitant to stay at the property due to some of the reviews. So glad that we did as we had a wonderful getaway weekend. We stood in a two bedroom oceanfront suite and it was perfect. Nice kitchen, beds were comfortable, TVs in all rooms, and best of all were the beautiful views. My husband and son loved the little golf course also! We will definitely be back very soon!!!
The location is great and our time spent with friends on the beach was fantastic. However, the room was really gross. Nothing has been updated in was looked like 20 years. We had bugs - flies and a giant cockroach in our room. Our couch was so old the cushions fell off every time you sat on it. The bed was tiny - a full not a queen - and very uncomfortable. Check out was also a disaster. The man who checked us out was so rude - I inquired about a random $180 charge on my bill and he told me it was for the "guests" we had to our room... What? The only "guest" we had was uber eats delivering food to us because the hotel restaurant refused to serve us after 7pm on a Friday night. I told him that was completely unacceptable and I would not be paying that and he immediately took the charge off, which was great but I'm honestly shocked they tried to scam us like that. Really not a good experience.…
The Coastal Commission enforces the Beaches at La Jolla Shores, The La Jolla Shores will intimidate and show you a drawing professionally done where they think their property is, They kick off people often from the wet sand. When the Sand is wet the public can enjoy sitting there, the amount of private beach is limited. The Employees will threaten to call the Police (who by the way do not know Maritime Law) at least they didn't yesterday...they threaten to do citizens arrest. They harass and stand over and around you while you are trying to enjoy your stay at the beach. Don't be fooled.... I hope a Class Action suit comes after this establishment and hits their pocketbook for more millions than they have. They treat people horrible...
Highly recommend this unique, one of a kind setting. The airport is close as are restaurants and entertainment. The staff is well trained and responsive. It is one of the few locations in California with a private beach.
requested a king room and was given two double beds with no explanation they said that there were no other rooms available on the ground floor and the room right next to us was vacant. It looked like the hotel was not very full yet we had to wait until 4:oo for our check in
