Wonderful customer service, from arrival to restaurants to housekeeping to front desk, can’t say enough about how great this Hilton property’s staff is. Karen at the front desk, Christian in the lounge, and Mason at the bell stand. All incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is also ideal and even a “non ocean view” room has a great view of Torrey Pines golf course and the ocean. Room was exceptionally large including the bathroom. Amenities were standard but little extras are provided as part of the resort fee which was a nice surprise. Complimentary drinks, extra bottles of water, even a discount at the pro shop. I also appreciated the festive touches for the Christmas season. Will definitely look forward to staying at the Hilton Torrey Pines again.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights at the end of March for MLB opening day. We made sure to get a room closer to the end of the hall for the best view of the golf course and the ocean. Seems some rooms have obstructions but if you can snag a room on floors 3 or 4 near the end of the hall you should be solid. We ended up in a room (3076) on the north side of the pool and though I initially thought I might not like a pool facing room, I really didn’t mind it in the end.
Every single staff member was friendly and welcoming. I’m talking everyone. The bellmen, the front desk folks, the bar tenders and the housekeeping staff. All lovely folks who are eager to make sure you are comfortable and enjoy your stay.
We didn’t eat at the hotel aside from the breakfast Sandos at the coffee counter that were just alright.
My room keys almost never worked for the garage entrance and exit but the assistance button response is quick and apologetic. My digital key did seem to work a little bit more of the time.
The 3rd floor is the main floor of this hotel. The restaurant and pool and other amenities are mostly on level 2.
Food and snack options are great. Restaurant, bar, coffee counter, travel mart and vending machine near the parking elevators.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and we will definitely be returning.

Our 3-night Nov 2024 midweek stay at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines was only a 3-star stay at best: beautiful golf and ocean side locale, friendly staff that really try hard, despite the aging facilities, and dog friendly.
However, this is a convention hotel that needs a major refurbishment to the guest rooms, interior public areas, and exterior landscaping of the grounds. Apart from one small group attending a meeting, the resort was deserted (midweek in November so I can understand it is off season).
For our 3 nights we paid a $1,200 total price tag (3 nights in a dog friendly ground floor but regular guest room, with no view), which included their $45/night self parking fee in the dungeon-like concrete garage, the exorbitant $36/night resort fee (daily bottled waters, happy hour drink per person, access to the so-so Shiley fitness next door, and access to resort "toys", none of which we used), and a litany of local taxes.
The fitness room is nothing special (use the next door Shiley Fitness instead), the pool was heated but the single spa tub was small, the outside grounds were nice, but the landscaping needs a thorough refresh as many of the trees and shrubbery are overgrown.
This stay was definitely not worth the price paid, but we needed a dog friendly place to stay while my spouse went to appointments at the adjacent Scripps clinic transplant center. Front desk staff didn't even budge on waiving the $45 parking fees even though we had an ADA parking placard. We didn't even want to bother trying to advocate on that.
First night check-in at the front desk was pleasant (maybe the Hilton hired new staff who were nicer after the negative reviews from earlier 2024), but our in-room HVAC heater unit didn't work and the hair dryer didn't blow heat. Two separate calls to the front desk were fairly responsive, with the tech saying the room HVACs are really old and temperamental.
Our bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean, but the overall room was dark and the standard issue furniture came out of the 70's and 80's ... like the hotel carpets, lobby, restaurant and bar.
Lesson learned: For the price we were charged here, we will stay at the Lodge at Torrey Pines next time, until the long-hoped for major renovation occurs to the Hilton La Jolla, which staff hopes will happen in 2025.

After a long day, we checked in at 11 pm. The front desk associate was friendly and accommodating but charged me a $100 resort fee that my husband had already paid in the amount of $40.50. The total cost for the room was $633.69 for one night's stay in a basic room on the second level with two queen beds. The room was extremely dated, but we were exhausted. However, the bathroom was disgusting. There was sticky residue where someone had spilled what appeared to be kool aid on the floor but it was never cleaned. There was long black hair in the sink, on the ceiling, mold in the corners and where the wallpaper was peeling. The shower curtain was something you would see in a roadside motel where truck drivers stop.
The bed was extremely old. The mattress was sagging at both corners and lumpy. I stripped the sheets because I feared that there were bed bugs. My son and I slept on towels with a light on just in case. The carpeting was worn and also dirty. In general, the hotel is in desperate need to a renovation. For the amount that w paid, I would certainly expect at least a clean and inviting room.
We paid for the hotel's buffet, which is a good deal IF you could actually get a server to assist you. I finally went to the bar where a barista was making coffee and asked him to make me a cup of coffee...to go. After waiting twenty minutes, we needed to leave for an appointment at UCSD.
I tried calling the hotel to speak to management. NO ONE answers. Ever. There are so many nice hotels that are less expensive with better management and service. As a frequent traveller, I would not recommend it to anyone.
I would expect more from Hilton. Truly I can't say anything good about our stay. Wish I could find something. I can't. Perhaps the location.

My husband and I stayed here for a work conference trip. Unfortunately We didn’t have a pleasant experience. The hotel room furniture is in desperate need for renovation. The furniture has definitely seen better days. They’re severely unstaffed. Some days we didn’t get room service until 5pm. Upon checkout, we had a small request for a vacuum to air seal our clothes in our luggage. After multiple calls to the front desk and hours of waiting yes hours. We were finally told they couldn’t accommodate the small request. The front desk female was clearly incompetent and Unempathetic. How can a place like this not have a vacuum for guest to use for 10minutes. So thankful we didn’t have to ask for anything else during our stay or it would’ve turned this place upside down. Definitely won’t be returning here.

I am rarely so disappointed by a hotel, especially one belonging to the Hilton brand galaxy, of which I am honored to be a Diamond level HHonors member. But this Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines looks like a fallen noblewoman. Nothing to say about the location of either the property or the room assigned to my wife and me, with a beautiful view of one of the Torrey Pines golf courses, but otherwise we found only problems. Here is the list: safe removed from the room making it impossible to leave valuables or documents except at the reception, only after insistence were they told that the safes were being replaced; old and damaged furniture well beyond normal wear; TV remote control broken and replaced on request; alarm clock broken and replaced on request; Wifi only for two devices with the third strictly paid. On the day of check-out, upon request to leave the car for an extra hour after 11 in the morning, they were immediately asked to remove it and return to the garage, take the ticket and start paying on an hourly basis, which then returned after our protest, since we paid 40 dollars each night to park. In essence, if they don't start an extensive renovation program, this hotel cannot be part of a prestigious chain like Hilton in these conditions. Not only that, we contacted the HHonors Hilton offices several times and the response was disconcerting: essentially, they told me that the hotel manager had written me a letter of apology and that this was considered sufficient, asking what I would have wanted in more. I replied that I didn't want anything, but that the apology was clearly insufficient for a ruined two-day stay, fortunately a small part of our overall stay in the USA. Too bad, what a disappointment. A piece of advice, before booking this hotel, make sure it has been renovated.

Front desk not helpful or friendly. Know that you have to REQUEST housekeeping (fresh towels, bed being made, room tidied-you know, basic things that are typically included in a $300-$400 per night stay. Check you bill for errors! Was charged valet parking services on both rooms reserved and only had one car. When I inquired about the overage I was told “take it up with corporate, we can’t remove the charge because we can’t verify that you only had one car.” Well my argument to that is they should have to verify that I had two cars then!!

This is super pricy hotel, or I should call it motel. Not even providing a post-it for writing something, and no mandatory breakfast with over $400 per night by checking time after 4pm and checking out time before 11am, and in the middle of no where. Their so called bar drinking wine or soda is only open from 4-7pm, if you arrived after 7pm, you already lost their so called benefit. And they will charge you $36 resort fee. And they encourage you to tip through APP, not by cash, not tip the personnel who really served you. Those are not the worst part, not even close. The horrible thing is I used their wifi(Hilton Honor Stays) during my staying to pay my credit card balance, the next day I got a text message, obviously a phishing one, which that exactly credit card needs special attention and provide the customer service phone number and link, which never listed on that credit card's official website. I still give it 2 stars, because their housekeeping is good enough to me. The housekeeper who served my room is nice and professional. I don't tip the hotel, I only tipped the house keeper. My suggestion is if you go San Diego, not for golf tournament, please don't pick this hotel. If you have to pick this hotel, please tip the house keeper instead of the hotel.

This property is in desperate need of a refresher/remodel. The property is tired, the furniture is old and full of nicks and dents from decades of use. They are also extremely understaffed. Even though the paces was almost empty, the single person at check-in was overwhelmed, the mostly empty dinning room service took forever and even though we left our room for 6 hours one day, they still were not able to make the room. When we called and asked them to please come and make it they said "sorry, not while you are in, but we can give you water and towels. Bye" I have Honors Gold and got no upgrade at check-in (I called to ask what room had the best sunset views, the staff was unable to figure that out), a 1 PM late check-out only and even though the property is supposed to be "pet friendly" they were keen to point that there is only a small corner of the property where dogs can relieve themselves. We were chased out of multiple areas because "dog were not allowed". IT was supposed to be a nice long weekend with the a family in a beautiful place. This facility and staff made it a very poor experience. Not going back for pleasure there ever again until change in management and remodel. Don't expect any special treatment for being a frequent Hilton guest.

We took a little family vacation here in order to attend some events and play the famous golf course. The golf course is the highlight. The hotel, however has several issues.
1. Bell Captains: The bell captains here are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. They greet you by name and get to know you a little make make the interactions and your stay very, very personable. Rich is a prince of gentleman.
2. reception staff: The staff are in general OK except for the lady from Manila who was busy raising her voice to me when I was asking for help with my room key which made this very frustrating.
3. rooms: The elevators to the 1st floor (which is below the lobby) are a bit old but seem to work OK for the most part. I have been told by others they break down.
our first room had a damp floor and had a smell that was in accordance with that. The staff was agreeable. and moved us the following day. The hardware in that bathroom was also very difficult to use (shower thermoregultor/control). The engineer came that night to investigate but could not find the source of the leak.
The next room was similar but slightly drier the quality of the room was similar.
Beds are hard and the pillows quite lumpy (which seemed different from other Hilton properties).
4. Food: The breakfast was OK during the week. The weekend brunch is much nicer. We found out as we were leaving that during the week you can have custom omelettes made during the week but the wait staff failed to point that out (twice). Also it is odd that there are staff members in the restaurant still masking when no one else is wearing a mask.
TIP: the lobby is on the 3rd floor.
Overall: For the price, we honestly expected more given that we have stayed at several Hilton properties. You clearly pay for proximity. the golf crourse which is spectacular and for access to the hotel's tee times, but outside of this, you may be better off finding a lower priced hotel and reserving the tee time further in advance.

There is a parking structure as well as a lot. We were directed to the parking structure; I'm not sure who gets to park in the lot. I recommend calling the hotel and asking them these questions. Be sure to measure the height of your truck and then ask them the height of their parking structure, if, by any chance, you can't park in the lot. The people at the front desk were very friendly. I'm sure they would be happy to answer your questions.
Hilton's main number is: (858) 558-1500 but customer service can connect you to the hotel if they are unable to answer your questions.
