4 of us Mommas planned a visit to see my daughter who lives in San Diego. Staying here was the cake and the icing of our trip. I would be remiss if I did not mention Richie Woods. We were greeted first by his amazing smile. He was accommodating in every way Restaraunt suggestions to room service. We felt we were well taken care of and we felt safe. The pool was amazing and the outdoor fire was delicious in the morning with the complimentary coffee. The views of this hotel were stunning! Beyond the pristine golf course was the Pacific Ocean! Amazing staff and food and bartenders! Do not hesitate to book your next trip and stay here!! 😎
...because of Neil, Kevin and Raul. As we all emerge back into restorative or productive shared spaces (vacations, conferences, etc.), there are overwhelming choices and some places have fared better than others. This property is doing something right with their people, because the people here are making this experience right. Neil at the front desk went way above and beyond to ensure our stay was exemplary, taking the time to listen to my husband and respond with compassion and genuine collaboration to create joy. That sounds overblown. It's not. Neil did a lovely service to our family. Kevin in guest services also came alongside as we struggled a bit to resolve a logistical tangle and just seemed genuinely pleased to help. Raul at the Torreyana Grill (in the hotel) made such an impression on me that I found myself looking for ways to express my gratitude. We were exhausted and he was proactively kind - he made our mornings easy and added joy. Folx, I don't write many reviews, but after 2+ years of trying to stay safe, it feels important to spend our time and energy recognizing and encouraging the sort of interactions we want to see. The people of this Hilton property really are stellar. Go see em.…
I had the most wonderful time in San Diego, and staying at Torrey Pines was icing on the cake. It was my home away from home. The staff was fun and easy going. Rich Woods was very helpful and gave my friends and I some great suggestions on what to do and where to go. I really appreciated his patience and positive attitude and his sense of humor! Our room was great and whenever we needed anything extra, we got it right away. Bartenders made yummy drinks too!!!
The guys at the Bell Desk are so nice and informative. Both Rich and Jenel were so helpful, we got here early and dropped off our bags with Rich, he was so accommodating and friendly and told us what we needed to do when coming back for our bags. We then had our bags dropped at our room and Jenel brought them up. He also was so friendly and kind to our kids and just nice to be greeted with a smile!!
The Belle Captain, Rich Woods, was friendly and professional-giving us valuable information about local attractions as well as making sure we were satisfied with our accommodations. We made a few last minute housekeeping requests and found the response friendly and accommodating. Our room had a beautiful balcony view of the golf course and ocean-loved watching the paragliders pass by!
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times for pleasure and this time because my husband was in the hospital and having multiple heart procedures. The staff is always nice and helpful. An exception was Neil at the front desk. He was outstanding in his caring, understanding and accommodating me on multiple days to extend my stay due to the complications and longer stay for my husband. Neil really made a difference during a difficult time!! Thank you Neil. Oh yes the views and hiking are amazing. Love the sunsets over the golf course and Pacific Ocean.
Stayed for a week with friends and it couldn't have been better. When on vacation, I usually spend most of my time away from the hotel. This time, I couldn't get enough of being on the grounds. Loved overlooking the 18th green and watching the golfers. Ryan, the chef, was super nice and we couldn't get enough of the street corn. Rich Woods guided us through our week and never missed the mark with what he suggested. Activities, food, siteseeing...even our relaxing time, he pointed out great spots. Always the bright spot chatting with him each morning. Gary and the rest of the gang up front were all very helpful and personable. Check in desk staff were polite and quick which is great when traveling. The pool area was always clean and inviting. We especially enjoyed early mornings and late evenings at the fire pits. Always relaxing. Will continue to call this place "My Paradise"…
I stayed at this hotel again against my better judgement. I figured one night could be stayed almost anywhere, as long as it’s clean. Upon check in, I informed the rep that during my last stay the toilet ran all night. She told me that the plumbing had been worked on and there should be no problem with the toilet running. The toilet ran loudly all night. I stepped into the first room assigned and an overwhelming musty/mildew odor filled the room. I usually don’t ask for new rooms, but I asked to be reassigned as I needed good sleep for a medical procedure the next day. The second room had the same odor, but it was less strong and figured this was the best I was going to get. There was a mysterious situation in the shower. I turned it on and the tub starting filling up. The stopper, which has to be twisted down, was engaged but no water was in the tub. My question: how was the shower cleaned? This hotel really needs updating: peeling wall paper, chipped paint, crusty green and white matter stuck to shower head, and more.…
I booked and paid for an open view on the top floor and I ended up with a staging room on the first floor with no view. Aside from that, the property desperately needs an update. The hotel hits you up for a resort fee of $35 per day but, where's the value in that? The service is subpar, but you get what you pay for. I'll come back only if nothing else better in the area is available.
Our first impression from the hotel arriving from the airport was a 45 USD per night fee of the parking, we had to request for someone to help us with the luggage because it wasn't something that comes naturally with the service. The check in was a terrible experience, they had no consideration for people who are not fluent english speakers, they double charged for a pre-paid room and we still haven't received the reimbursement. Their systems are apparently old or useless and no one in the front desk is properly trained to use them. The rooms are only serviced if you request it, making a call the day before and booking a slot for your room to be serviced, but even if you follow the process they might not do it (as it happened to us) and when we called to ask for extra amenities, they said we had to fill out a form before 10 pm in order to be able to get anything. ¡Bureaucracy! at a hotel that charges over 300 USD a night plus taxes!!! Lastly they charge you for everything, the food is terrible. I wouldn't stay there again…
