Wonderful historic hotel ideally located to enjoy the charms of La Jolla. The room was spacious and well equipped. Making towels available for beach use was very handy and access to the local gym was terrific - way better than the usual in-house hotel gym...
We booked two nights at the Grande Colonial as part of our 28th anniversary celebration in San Diego. We were blown away by the hotel: great rooms, fantastic service, amazing location. You can feel the history in the hotel but it still has so many modern conveniences. Our room and view was fantastic. The pool area was wonderful. Food and drink were amazing. Not only would I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in La Jolla, we are encouraging our kids to consider it for a wedding! We will definitely be back!
Our stay at the Grande Colonial in La Jolla could not have been a more enjoyable experience with stunning views of the ocean from our room #201, attentive staff who are professional and friendly, plush towels and comfortable beds, and the most delicious meals brought to us by room service. This is a high end luxury hotel and we can’t wait to return!
We made a quick trip to La Jolla in August to get away from the Phoenix heat. We took an Uber to the hotel, got an early check-in, then set out to explore. It was so wonderful being with a few blocks of the beach, and near some fantastic restaurants, bars, and shops. We had a room with an ocean view, and would enjoy a drink in our room each evening. I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel.
Great hotel, the location is perfect and is boutique so you get personalize world class service. The staff is very kind, friendly, knowledgable and the valet workers all called me by name. My room had an awesome ocean view. It's a first class hotel at a fair price. I highly recommend it.
We were very happy with this hotel and will stay here again in the future. Great location where you can walk to lots of restaurants, shops and La Jolla Cove to look at the Sea Lions and beach. The staff is very friendly as well.
Fabulous location. Warm, welcoming staff. Comfortable, spacious room with ocean views. Great restaurant in hotel. Relaxing pool. Quiet ambiance. We’ll definitely return for our next trip. Perfect La Jolla vacation!
I spent three nights at the Grande Colonial in La Jolla, CA for a business conference earlier this month, and was very impressed by the resort and it's staff. My room (#409), overlooked the road, so it wasn't the most desirable view, and during the day, it could get fairly loud, but at night, I was never bothered once by any sounds outside. The bed was comfortable and the amenities in the room were very nice (Keuirig, TV with a good range of channels and a spacious bathroom with many different personal items for my use. The meeting space was nicely situated, clean and quiet. The property itself is sprawled over more space than I originally believed it to be and the exterior was very well maintained. I never did get in the pool, but it looked very clean and inviting. The food, though mostly served buffet style (breakfast and lunch) was very tasty and plentiful with lots of options. I was able to eat at the on-site Michelin rated restaurant, Nine/Ten and the food was extremely well prepared and though ALL a la carte, was plentiful. Very nice place to spend time in La Jolla and I will stay there again in the future if I am in need of accommodations in that area.…
Everything was perfect, including the paired dinner at 9 10. We celebrated our 50th Anniversary and the evening was perfect. Staff was friendly, very attentive and handle my requested extras very professionally.
Perfectly located to town and shoreline strolls. Lovely facility, use of beach chairs and towels, great views, friendly staff. Parking...ugh. Either you pay the daily rate or hassle on the street. Definitely worth the stay.
