How about pay tons of money, book the nicest room, high floor etc.... And at the check in they say ooooops we don't have any nice rooms sooorryyyy.... The worst hotel.... What's the point to pick a room and spend money, and get the average....
My 2 grown daughters and I traveled to La Jolla from Florida for a family wedding. We stayed 4 nights as part of the wedding block. Everything about our visit was wonderful! We were on the 8th floor overlooking the ocean, a beautiful view! Our room was clean and fresh. We had a small fridge in the room and a coffee maker, which by the way wasn't used much as there was a Starbucks within steps from the front entrance! We used the restaurant once, a delightful experience with great food! My sister and I relaxed by the pool for an afternoon . The staff morning and night were great, always pleasant and helpful with supplies for the room or towels for the pool. I have a background of working for hotels, so I feel qualified to give this most excellent review. Keep up the good work and thank you. I will see you next time!…
Nice staff people, awesome views and room patios. The location to beaches is outstanding and it’s super to have free beach bike for two hours a day! 1 elevator for staff and visitors is a terrible situation. The stinginess on Toilet paper is inexplicable.
My Wife and I stayed at this hotel whole visiting family. The location is great, great food about a block and a half away and the beach is just a little further down. The hotel is a little worn out. This is expected in a year round resort location, it is hard to keep up with the rooms and facility when they are almost fully booked all the time. We stayed in a king room on the 7th floor and the view was great. The front desk staff was ok not amazing. They were helpful but not what I expected from a Curio Collection. The housekeeping staff was much more friendly and engaging, even though they have the toughest job. We did not eat at the restaurant, the food look ok but the price was crazy, I get the whole pandemic thing with availability and staffing but they have to mindful an have pricing ranges for all customers. We would stay there again, Thanks for a great stay.…
I accidentally left a drawer full of clothes in my room. Shame on me. When I called the hotel, one day after my checkout, the front desk claims they did not have any clothes from my room. The hotel has either a bunch of liars or a bunch of thieves. Trust me, don’t spend your money there.
Room had multiple stains on carpet and furniture. Patchwork repairs were as if you 8 year old did the repair. Couldn’t even lock the door as the lock didn’t even long up with the door frame. Stay away. You will hate it.
Only 1 out of 2 elevators working (we were on 11th floor). Same elevator used by housekeeping, guests and maintenance. (Not great especially with COVID concerns.) No ice available on floor No secure wifi Phone inside room did not work. Couch was lumpy - felt like we were sitting downhill. patio door would not open. Parking was ~$40 - not really in a downtown area landscaping people were bringing mulch thru the main floor. Good- Room was clean Location was good once you crossed the busy street
I stayed here with friends and would NOT go back. We were practically kicked out of our room at 9:30 when check out is at 11:00 a.m. House keeping knocked at our door at 9:30 and at 10:00 am, they knocked again and stood by the door and waited for us to leave. We went downstairs and confirmed check-out time at front desk it was at 11:00 a.m. This is a Hilton property and it is the WORST Hilton property I’ve ever stayed at. VERY DISAPPOINTING. It’s really too bad because this place has potential. It’s great location and has great views on certain floors. Service sucks! Here’s the run down. Rooms: Semi-clean, very dated, needs an upgrade, stained carpet, dirty patio, dirty glass walls, clean bathrooms and shower Service: Some staff stands out well for their friendliness but it’s easily over looked by the lack of service. Don’t bother with room service, there’s NONE. The front desk asked if we want our room cleaned when we checked in, we said yes. She even scheduled it at 11. No one came. We had to ask for fresh towels from the front desk staff. If you decide to stay here, don’t expect much. Restaurant: Eddie from Cusp restaurant on the 11th floor was super friendly and accommodating. Food was ok. Limited menu. View is AMAZING. Even the view from the bathroom on this floor was wonderful. Property: This hotel has 11 floors and ONE working elevator. The elevator has been down for months. Location: Walking distance from beach, restaurants, and water activities Amazing view from the top floors.…
They act like every hotel in the area charges 40 freaking dollars a day to park but we go to La Jolla 4-5 a year and usually stay in the cove and we have never paid for parking. Unfortunately we booked from hotels.com and it wasn't clear that they charged a ridiculous amount for parking. On top of that, the parking lot is completely uneven and the bell cart won't stay put, it just keeps rolling unless you have somebody to hold it. There was only one elevator in the entire hotel working that was shared by staff and guests, there were stains on our carpet in the room, the bathroom door would not lock, and the balcony door would not lock. The location was nice and we got to check out a different area in La Jolla than we normally do but if we go back to the area, it will not be at this hotel. …
Great hotel and staff! I had the most amazing room with the most outstanding view. Breakfast was excellent as well. Tip-get a room with a view, you're in LaJolla-the sunsets are amazing! W/in walking distance to local shopping and you can rent a bike to ride to the beach. Some traffic noise if you open the doors but not a big deal.
