Spacious rooms and bathrooms decorated in a timeless, classic style. Unique touches like Starbucks coffee in the room, shutters to let in the light and views, a heat lamp in the bathroom, and touch-
activated lamps bedside. In the wake of the Covid era, the hotel set up tables on the lawn for guests to enjoy dinner, and guest room corridors have “lanes” to encourage social distancing. But what really puts this hotel over the top are the spectacular grounds. Beauty is at every turn especially in the courtyard where palm trees and Birds of Paradise abound. Pool is generously sized and reaches a depth of 8.5’. Spa, temporarily off limits due to government orders in response to the virus, looked equally inviting. Pool towels are dispensed from a sanitizer after inserting your room key. Stunning surroundings, meandering pathways of tranquility, and an immaculately kept facility blends effortlessly into the landscape making the Sheraton La Jolla one of the best hotels in the San Diego area.

Stayed 8 nights during Thanksgiving 2020.
The stay was very pleasant. The rooms were clean and nice. I hardly saw any other guests or employees. An employee went out of his way when the vending machine was not working to give me 4 bottles of water. The lack of daily room service was acceptable during these times (once every 5 days?). The front desk and the laundry room in the back gave out free towels when needed. The warm pool was also great, and it is open late (even during covid).
There is plenty of street parking near by (at your own risk), so dont be discouraged by the $23 a day charge to park your car.
The only issue I had is a huge centipede bug crawled into my bathroom while I was using it and almost gave me a heart attack - but thats San Diego for you.
I stayed 8 nights and will recommend the Sheraton to my friends and business associates. 5 stars.

Hotel was extremely clean. Bathroom and bedroom area was spotless. Had mobile chatted for first floor and they were able to accommodate. The bed was so comfortable. First stay at a Sheraton and absolutely love their bed! Hotel is older and does show in design but is well maintained and clean and appealing. There are several building that have guest rooms. We did not have any noise issues. The outdoor pool and patio area was very pretty. It looked just like the online pictures. $20 was a bit much for parking it seemed but there is also a little street parking. There is a fence with a door that allows you to go in and out of a little shopping area with CVS, a grocery store and some restaurants that was very convenient. I look forward to staying here again.

Because of COVID they don't have daily maid service. OK - but I at least expect they clean the rooms in between visitors. The rug was filthy (not sure if it has been vacuumed properly recently) the rooms are dark on the first floor (maybe 2nd floors get more sun light). The trash cans outside by the pool was full for days before they finally emptied it. The rooms are in bad need of renovation/update (the rooms are old and tired, the faucet leaked and the toilet seat was very low). I stayed for 4 nights and it was not a comfortable stay. I will avoid this hotel in the future. The $23 per day parking is ridiculous (I recommend, parking on the street out front). I am giving it a two starts out of five because it is at a VERY convenient location if you are visiting UC San Diego (which was key for me)

I stayed here on February 24 for one night. Coffee in the room was expired and one package had a expiration date of Dec 2020 and the package was opened by a previous guest. With Covid 19, are the rooms really being cleaned and sanitized as those coffee should have been thrown away a long time ago instead of leaving it for guest after guest and people touching the bags of coffee. Also there were no bottled water in the room and when I asked the front desk for some, the lady told me that they do not provide water even though on the website, it says that it is one of the amenities. Also as a Ambassador member, there was no evening reception. I come to San Diego two days a week and get better service from Courtyard Marriott as during this pandemic there is no need to pay extra money to stay at Sheraton and Marriott hotels.

I booked a weekend getaway from July 17-19, 2020 to surprise my sweetie for his birthday. We arrived Friday evening around 8:30pm. As soon as we unpacked and got settled into our room, we received a knock at the door. When I opened the door, I was surprised and quite delighted to see a hotel staff member holding a complimentary tray of chocolate-covered strawberries and white chocolate pieces for us, with a card and note attached. I opened the note and found it was from the Director of Sales, Karen Cribbs, who I had spoken to a couple weeks prior to confirm my reservation. Ms. Cribbs wished us a great stay and a relaxing weekend and even wished a happy birthday to my sweetie. When I had spoken to Ms. Cribbs on the phone two weeks prior, I had mentioned I was planning a birthday weekend for my sweetie because he had been experiencing a rough couple of months and I wanted to do something to cheer him up for his birthday weekend. This sweet surprise and kind note from Ms. Cribbs kicked off our weekend with delight! Thank you again to Karen Cribbs for remembering our conversation over the phone and for making our weekend memorable!
Also, we really enjoyed our room! It felt like we were on a tropical island, with the view of the pool and palm trees outside and the gorgeous tropical paintings and cool wooden shutters in our room!
Thank you again to the Sheraton La Jolla and Karen Cribbs for making our weekend in La Jolla wonderful!!
Cheers,
Katie

I stayed here for two nights in October with my fiancée after a few days in San Diego.
The property is a large property with a number of different buildings, housing the rooms, surrounding a central plaza / pool deck area.
Customer service throughout was great. We arrived a bit early, but our room wasn’t ready, but they allowed us to keep our bags there without any issue. When we checked in, we had been upgraded to a larger room, which had a seating area with a couch and table, a large bed, and a decent sized bathroom. Bed was comfortable ans the room was clean. The rooms not run down or anything, but could maybe use a refresh. The main floor of our building was having renovations done, but I didn’t notice any interruptions.
The pool and hot tub area was large, and well taken care of. The gym was fairly decently equipped, and we used it a couple times. I was disappointed with parts of the club lounge. The free alcoholic beverages were great, but the food was a but lacking both in the evening and breakfast.
The location is near a bus atop with easy access to the village via bus, as well as the tram, with quick access to downtown, Tijuana etc. The area is a bit blah, close to the interstate, and strip malls, but is a great property. I would return if I came back to La Jolla

We stayed in a family room which was quite spacious and renovated enough. It was clean and the staff were attentive when we needed towels and sheets. I popped a fuse and they fixed it very quickly. The food at the bar and restaurant were very good and Charlie was a star! The pool, hot tub and grounds were all very pleasant and we didn’t hear any dogs barking!
There is a little strip mall right next to the hotel with water, alcohol, pizza and pho noodles and 2 minutes (walking) further is a large strip mall with everything needed. The hotel is right off the 5 which makes it convenient.

Although it’s not by the beach, the Sheraton is a 10-15 minute drive to Black’s beach, La Jolla cove, Del Mar and hiking trails. Parking is free right outside the hotel on holiday court. This will save you $23 overnight parking in the hotel’s lot. There’s a shopping center right behind the hotel with a CVS, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and several restaurants, super convenient. The hotel grounds are well kept and the pool and jacuzzi very clean. Housekeeping is very efficient and staff very professional.

While staying a couple of nights in LaJolla, we selected this hotel to stay at. Checking in was great! The lady who checked me in was very helpful and pleasant. She recognized my level of Bonvoy membership, even though I booked through a third-party. I found this important because lately the front desk folks at Marriotts have been curt and not providing any of the Bonvoy perks that I’m entitled too, whether I book through Marriott or a third-party, so I’ve given up booking through Marriott to collect points that are so much more valuable from American Airlines Hotels booking site.
The property is nicely laid out – quite large, you need to park close to your room, as the rooms and buildings are stretched out over several acres. There’s a large pool in the center courtyard, with a hot tub and water fall with a stream that rolls thru the middle. There’s a gym and concierge lounge off the middle courtyard too.
The staff was all very helpful and friendly. The concierge attendant was very helpful, seeing me trying to carry to a couple cups of coffee and a plate of food, he offered me a drink carrier. They have evening snacks and breakfast and their breakfast is legit, good food ;real eggs and incredible bacon!
Housekeeping was helpful and did a good job keeping up with the room. Bed was comfy and the TV worked great. Shower temp was great, so was the drain in the shower. The only issue was the pool and hot tub… I wanted to use it, but the scum line in the pool clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, as it was stained dark and there was junk floating in the pool. Same with the hot tub, it really needed to be skimmed. But those small issues aside, our stay here was great!

I stayed at the LaJolla Sheraton so maybe I can help. Pool area and grounds are beautiful and near everything, so even if no laundromat onsite (not sure) they do have everything v close by. I believe there is an ATM near the bar area. And there definitely is a coffee maker in the room, but a Coffeehouse within short walking distance as well. Hope this helps!
it was when we were there
I think so. We had WiFi all the time while there and if I paid for it, I would remember.
