Located steps from La Jolla's world-renowned beaches, art museums, restaurants, bars, and galleries. Scripps Inn in La Jolla offers quintessential Southern California charm in an intimate hotel setting near Cuvier park. With 14 unique guest rooms, some with kitchenettes, some with fireplaces, each offers well appointed accommodations.
What a wonderful find! The staff is very friendly. Our room was clean and so comfortable. The beach vibe decor is perfect and you can't beat the view. Our morning coffee on the sun deck was a treat. We will definately be returning.

Cozy 15-room property. Great location - walk across the street and you're in a SMALL green park (like a putting green) on a cliff at the ocean's edge. Park is a popular wedding spot where our son got married. Have to walk to the right a ways to actually get to the beach or sea lions in Children's Cove, but all is easily accessible from here. Description in Trip Advisor says B & B, but there was no food or drink. We drove to restaurants because street was too hilly for us with arthritis but others walked to downtown with no problem. Room was as expected with coastal/beachy decor. Very relaxing. Chairs are outside each room if you want to sit awhile or there's a common-use deck. Most sites we went to in San Diego are about 20 minutes from La Jolla. We stayed a week and were told they weren't doing concurrent housekeeping due to COVID and so not to interrupt people's visits. Got fresh towels right away when we requested them after a few days. Owners responded immediately when our TV stopped working from some weird cable issue (just like home). We tried to call office but found the room phone was unplugged. They came down and fixed everything right away.…

Wow! Scripps Inn was the perfect spot for our entire extended family to stay while we celebrated my son’s wedding. The location can’t be beat— Pacific Ocean out the door, restaurants, parks and museums in the neighborhood. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Really comfy beds and great showers. Bikes and beach amenities. Everything for a wonderful time in La Jolla. The staff is fantastic—starting with manager Brooke Adams who made sure we were well cared for and her team who were thoughtful and efficient. Couldn’t have imagined a better place to gather as a family and to experience all that San Diego has to offer.

This is an amazing Inn, rooms are large, beautifully decorated and spotless. Right across from La Jolla Cove. Lots of areas to walk and killer views. Close to San Diego and great restaurants nearby. Reminds us of Catalina but better!

My favorite hidden gem in La Jolla. This place is perfect if you are looking for a calming, sweet little inn where (depending on room location) you may hear the ocean at night & the birds in the morning. The rooms have an inviting fresh coastal decor (photos on site are accurate) complete with a small fridge & coffee maker. This location is so charming ....quiet and truly magical. At Scripps Inn:, Step outside and enjoy the sunset Take a short walk to the shops and restaurants Enjoy a cool refresher as you sit outside your room with its chairs on or the shared sitting area on the second level Take a naturalist beach walk to the LJ Childrens beach to see the seals (I saw a birth) and Cove for the sealions. The LJ Childrens beach is open to public during summer months when the seals are not using it as a maternity ward. Or walk to the famous WindandSea beach in the other direction and enjoy watching the surfers and see the famous hut. Dine al fresco with a picnic (or take out) across the Inn at the picnic tables or on the grassy area above the ocean. Great staff - thank you Brooke, Tony and team for making us feel so welcome every time. They go the extra mile and can share with you some local tips and ideas. Cleaning team are kind and many have been there a long time, which says a lot of good about SI. Easy parking offered on site. Beach chairs and kids toys provided. LJ Rec center is about a block away offering tennis, a tennis backboard, children's playground, basketball & pickelball, free Tai Chi on some days and much more. Saunter over and explore the tidepools or go nextdoor to the newly opened Museum of Contemporary art. (and a nice cafe there too) Perhaps catch an intimate wedding across the way ...small and just for the ceremony (so the magic without the party) at the beach grass area just across the way. One special disability room, all great rooms, even 2 bedrooms,... and my favorite the big guest suite top floor. There is also one below it that is large. A few have kitchenettes I have lost count of how many times I have visited the Scripps Inn - probably at least 6x every year since I discovered it sometime in 2020 or 2021 I think. We have brought family and work colleagues. The beds are all excellent which is really important! comfortable but firm. Most rooms have two sinks in the bathroom Beach toys for kids provided! Right across the street from tide pools. Am bringing most of the family back later this year too. Remember this is a sweet small inn...if you arrive after hours, they will give you easy to follow instructions for the box with a code to access your room keys, parking pass, wifi and other tips. Staff is onsite during the day. I have been slow to write my review as this truly is one of my favorite hidden gems in all my travels! Now, i am sharing my favorite treasure with you. …

This is one of La Jolla's best kept secrets. The front desk staff is welcoming and beyond gracious & accommodating. The rooms and property are well cared for by a dedicated staff. The views and location can't be beat.

This was our second visit and won't be our last. We reserved one of the smaller rooms and were upgraded to a large suite in the front of the building with awesome views. This room has been recently remodeled and was perfect. The bed was just the right firmness for our backs! Bathroom had two sinks and a separate shower area. Kitchenette was stocked with dishes and glasses and a Kiereg for morning coffee. Microwave and refrigerator made it easy to eat meals in if needed. The living room area was very comfortable. No breakfast any longer since Covid and no daily housekeeping but if you need extra towels or amenities they are easily available. Walking distance to many excellent restaurants. for all types of meals. Lovely outside sitting area provided. Beach toys for kids provided! Right across the street from tide pools. Walking distance to La Jolla Village. Front desk very helpful and accommodating although hours are limited (not a problem...it's a small inn!)…

This is a delightful midrange B&B. It is situated just off the ocean with perfect sunset facing views. It is not an Aman but then it doesn't seek to be. What it seeks to be is a family-friendly B&B that has spacious rooms, good views and doesn't take itself too seriously. In that it succeeds admirably. La Jolla has a relaxed vibe and that personality is embodied by this property. We are a family of four and were traveling just after Independence Day.

We made this booking last minute, and were very pleased. Great location right across the street from the beach. Nicely decorated rooms, upstairs shared deck with fantastic ocean view. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

Large, nicely decorated room with sofa / table and chairs. Nice to have a shared balcony with communal furniture overlooking the ocean. View was wonderful. Needs some TLC in places particularly bathroom. Easy to hear neighbours Disappointed that although we had purchased bed and breakfast there was no longer any breakfast.
