We stayed for 3 nights in the offseason. The rooms were clean and the beds comfy - although one was rather squeaky. It looked recently updated and smelled very clean. The booking was easy - however, it's best to call if you have to make any changes vs using the email.
My daughter and I were planning a trip up the Northern California coast next week. We had stayed at the Motel Trees several years ago during a similar trip and had enjoyed our stay. My husband went to their website to book us rooms and was directed to contact the motel directly. The very unpleasant woman who answered argued with my husband to “just go back to the website” which he did and was again unsuccessful in booking via their website. After again being instructed by their website to call the hotel he was told by the very argumentative woman “I just have to type in all your information, you can do it yourself”. We finally gave up and booked 2 nights in a different hotel with a welcoming, non-argumentative front desk.
I was very hurt when I was told I could not have my service dog with me in the suit that We had reserved. I was very very very hurt. Had to go to another hotel however turned out great in the end. Hope no one else ever has to go though this Number one. It’s not cool to shun a person with a service dog.
We had the family suite, two queen beds in main room, and a second room with two double beds. We found the place to be quiet even though it is on the highway. The birds provided more noise than any traffic. The place was spotless, with modern plumbing and fixtures. I would love to have the same shower floor! Everthing worked although the WiFi was slow until after 9m. The front desk experience was positive. Breakfast is not included in the reasonable price, but there is the Forest Cafe next door. Be warned: we had exceptionally bad service for breakfast. One overworked server running the entire restaurant. You should not plan to eat next door.
This is a great location for exploring the Redwoods especially for Prairie creek Redwoods state park and Jedidiah Smith State park as it is located between the two. This is also perfect for a visit to the Trees of Mystery. The hotel was such a great price for the area and the room was clean and spacious. There was everything you'd need in the the room. Some of the Decor could do with a little upgrade, but for the price and location it was perfect. They are also dog friendly too. The property is well ran and kept and they have friendly people in the office. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.
