Updated rooms, nicely done for old-fashioned motel. Unbelievable price - especially considering proximity to the Redwoods. Bathroom redone very modern and nice. Park right in front of your room. There was a little noise since your window is right where people park, but overall people were considerate. It is essentially an overnight stop as you are not there to relax, but get up and out to see the trees. It was a very well done motor lodge, in the way they were meant to be. The only downside was that the restaurant was not open (due to Covid/staffing), so we had to go 20min down the road to very limited food offerings. When the restaurant opens full time, then this will be the perfect little stay. Bed was comfortable. It was also great being right across from the Trees of Mystery. We got to go across the street in the evening and get all our outdoor/parking lot photos done without the crowds. And the Trees of Mystery was a pleasant surprise...after years of just driving past - staying at Motel Trees and doing the Trees of Mystery - makes a perfect duo.…
We had a comfortable, pleasant stay in Room 7. It was very clean (even the carpet) and included a mini fridge and microwave. The bathroom has been completely updated. There was a small AC unit, but it wasn't warm enough for us to need it. Our Wi-Fi connection was spotty, but the woman in the office said they are in the process of improving the service. The rooms are very basic, but impressively well maintained - especially for such an affordable price!
This motel is the closest motel next to the tree of mystery. You don't have to wake up early to drive there when it opens. You can wake up later and just drive across the street at 9am. I got the room 17 and with three beds and it's great for three people since we got a bed for ourselves. I saw the reviews before and they said that the motel got remodeled which is true. Looks nice. The lady behind the counter at night was nice since I didn't have any issues. You have to be nice to them before they be nice to you. That's how it works. WiFi is a hit or miss but they have upgraded their WiFi with a different password so in room 17, the WiFi was good. Overall, great place to stay for a night. If I plan to stay there longer, I would because it seem a good place to stay for more than a night.…
Honestly, from the moment I booked this hotel, I was worried. With a week on the road in various locations, including some Marriotts and other hotels, I was nervous about staying in a dive. Seriously, that's kind of what the pics looked like. Really dated, etc. However, when we showed up, I was pleasantly surprised. There had been some modernizing. The shower was top notch, large, and modern, even high-class. The WiFi, apparently, was being updated. It was terrible. We couldn't even really get it in our room. Trust me, on THIS night of the vacation, it was a reprieve. I'm glad we didn't have it. We had to... GASP... play card games with each other. Lol. The only downsides were lack of airflow (no fans) and a box spring on the bed that made noise with the slightest movement. If those can get fixed, then it would be perfect. As an aside, and this has nothing to do with this hotel, per se, but we had a couple ladies three rooms down. ALL morning, as they packed up, they walked back and forth past our room, smoking the WORST smelling cigarettes I think I've ever smelled. There is a definite no smoking sign on the doors, but technically, because of the set up here, they were outdoors. Yet, it definitely negatively affected our ability to enjoy the morning. Each of these haggard leather-skinned four-pack-a-day warhorses smoked at least a dozen cigs that morning alone, dumping all of them in the outdoor trash that was just outside our room. So, we got the third-hand smell ever single time we went to dump something. I can't imagine they didn't make the room smell nasty. Either way, it's too bad the hotel doesn't have a rule about smoking in the shared area. Maybe folks wanting to destroy their lungs should have a smoking area out by the road or something.…
From the moment we checked in, the manager was great. We were unsure about our decision simply looking at photos on the website however although a little dated, the two room lodging was more than accommodating for our needs and was a pleasant respite from traveling. The bathrooms had recently been updated and were nice and clean. Microwave, coffee maker with actual mugs, and refrigerator were very convenient. Overall a great experience and we would definitely stay again should we happen to be traveling the 101 through Klamath. On a side note, bring ear plugs for sleeping as the traffic by the motel can be fast and load.
This was my first stay at the Motel Trees. It was exceptionally clean and so quiet! The price was also extremely reasonable! Cheaper than staying at a hotel in Crescent City. The check in was super fast and easy and the front desk lady was so sweet and friendly! It was a wonderful place to stay if you want to head over to the Trees of Mystery early. We were one of the first ones there and had the trails almost to ourselves. The Forest Cafe is also amazing if you get a chance! Their fries are the best I have ever had anywhere! Staff there was also so amazing and nice! The beds here are also very comfy, and the bathrooms were gorgeous tile! We didnt have any service on our cell phones, but their wi-fi worked and that was all we needed to contact family to let them know we arrived safe. If you stay here, make sure you just take a look outside after it gets dark. The sky is beautiful, the trees are amazing, and the quiet is so peaceful! Top notch place! I hope to be back soon!! Thank you Motel Trees for an wonderful stay!!! …
Great place to stay if visiting Trees of Mystery across the street. Very affordable and quiet after hours (from other rooms), but there is a considerable amount of traffic noise all night if you have your windows open. Don’t count on WiFi or cell service. Not a problem with us as we wanted to disconnect for a couple days. Clean, comfortable beds, refrigerator and microwave in our room for leftovers from Crescent City. Recommended.
Awful like sleeping on the freeway, noisy and how old is that shag carpet, pretty sure a guy was dealing drugs, his door kept shutting every 20-30 minutes. Noisy noisy noisy noisy. Beds were good, nice bathroom, looks fun and quaint blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
My son and I stayed at this delightful motel in July of 2021. Motel Trees is a delightfully "old school" place to stay. Everything was clean and Julia, the woman who takes care of everything is terrific! Thank you so very much!
This motel is a very well kept 1950's era road side inn. I live in Eureka and was just seeking a night of respite where I could eat a nice dinner, read and enjoy getting out of town for a little bit. The room is an extremely good value. On a Saturday night during the summer my room was $89.00 and with tax it came out to under $100. If you're comparing this to the cost of rooms in Crescent City or Eureka right now you'll realize what a value this is. Rooms in Crescent City were a minimum of $100 at much less desirable properties. The room was immaculate. The lines in the carpet from the vacuum made me confident that every effort had been taken to leave the room immaculate. The nicest aspect of the room was how nicely remodeled the bathroom and shower were. There was also thoughtful care taken to install high privacy glass in the bathroom windows. The property was well kept and include nice landscaping. I also ordered dinner from the Forest Cafe which is adjacent to the hotel. I wanted to eat in my room and the restaurant was thoughtful enough to include a regular dining plate and utensils with my to-go packaged Steak, Potato, Broccoli and Salad. Rooms at the nearby Holiday Inn were $300. I've stayed there in the past and for the value this hotel is much much better.…
