Drove in to check out property and didnt even bother getting out of the car. The minute you pull off Hwy 88 you are hit with a big sign " No Smoking" "No Pets Allowed". Thats fine, we dont smoke and we didnt have pets with us. Feel free to mix in a "welcome" sign. Big giant arrows painted on... More

This place is about being in the mountains, period. Staff is attentive and helpful. Our whole extended family has been making yearly visits here, and love it. Some of the facilities are not perfect, but that gets outweighed by the charm of this location and all around low-key vibe. Good fishing, boating, swimming, camping, hiking - LOVE IT::-))

This place is a bit run down and needs repair. I was there 4 days and it was very windy everyday. The lake is beautiful and scenic. We had our own boat and tried to enjoy fishing, but the wind was a problem. There is no restaurant and the store carried candy, chips, soda, beer and some bait. The staff... More

We rented a boat from Caples Lake Resort, for a fishing outing on Caples Lake, during the May long weekend. The resort has a number of small fishing boats, which comfortably accommodate four people, but probably would be too small for any more than that. The lake is a typical, artificial mountain lake, created when a dam was built to... More

Forever memorable! Wonderful place for families--kids can play on rocks, fish, kayak, and utilize their energies on endless hikes. My grand kids bagged Round Mountain and experienced euphoria. For us grand parents, being in mountains with tall pines, clean air, evening bonfires, and playing table games with family is relaxing and rewarding. There is something for everyone! John, the owner... More

We stayed here in early June which is before the " season " opens at this elevation. Needless to say it was cold but we knew it would be. The fact that it was early and cold meant the roads were traffic free and tourist free. I reserved a room at the Inn , when we arrived we were offered... More

We booked a room there last year and after checking in, we checked right out, they could keep the $88. When we opened the door to our room the mildew smell was overwhelming, we weren't happy at all. Turns out the bathroom is located across the hallway, same scent, hardly convenient. The wood decks surrounding the resort had 16d nails... More

Took a couple wildflower hikes and it was awesome as for the fishing only caught 8 rainbows smallest one 3 lbs good haul in any fishermans mind! We love the place and the staff and will be back in October for... More

I stayed in the hotel 3 nites, risking the noise of neighbors and thin walls, but I was lucky and had quiet neighbors. The view is great from all rooms, and each room has a bathroom across the hall with a fridge, shower, coffee pot, (I brought my own coffee but they have some and teas) and down the hall... More

To start off, did not stay at the resort. I went there to check on fishing at the lake. The staff person I spoke with regarding the lake was extremely rude. I like the lake, the area around it, but will Never stay at the resort after being treated with his attitude.
