Went there with family one week before Christmas, location was prime, right in the centre Toya area. The onsen was the key feature of the hotel, with many different indoor and outdoor baths, the view is excellent. Reservation service was professional and helpful, able to cater my family's vegetarian dietary request in making a kaiseki set. The downsides are the...

It is very good foy you to have hot spring baths since there are public baths in this hotel. Thers are also open-air baths. Especially, you can enjoy steamed hair crabs unlimitedly which are famous in Hokaido in the buffet restaurant of this hotel..

We went as a couple and booked a mountain view japanese futon room. The room was small but very well designed with a sense of tranquillity. Large window facing the snowy slopes of a mountain where one could just immerse in the beauty of nature for hours admiring the snowfall. The onsen was full of choices. There are two level...

Visited December 2015. My purpose of going to Noboribetsu is simple - Onsen. And so it really should be a choice between the two largest hotels there with the most pools. No, it's not for the vanity of 'the bigger the better'. It's really because these two hotels have their water piped from different parts of the Hell Valley before...

We picked up Mahoroba based upon friendly reviews and because it provides comfortable transportation from the Sapporo TV tower to the hotel and back. Please keep in mind that you have to book a place in the shuttle in advance, write to the hotel and request it. First of all, the value for money is hard to beat. You get...

The two most outstanding highlights for our family were the 31 different onsen pools in the hotel public baths, and the amazing dinner buffet, complete with premium items such as crabs, steak and sashimi. With regard to both, we were absolutely spoilt for choice. The onsen was huge, excellently maintained, and even had an outdoor slide! Naked people on slides...in...

There are many hotels in the Noboribetsu Jigokudani area and even though Mahoroba is not the nearest, it is just a pretty walkable distance (5-10mins slow walk) from it and in fact a nice cool walk in the October autumn weather. The hotel itself is huge. The carkpark is a little confusing for first timer i guess. Essentially the car...

We stayed here 2 nights from 22-23Dec. The onsen experience was splendid. Spoilt with choices of pools in the onsen, indoor and outdoor. The buffet choices was good too. Hotel staffs are friendly. Tips.. there is a small little ramen shop near the hotel (there are only 2 row of shops near the hotel), the ramen is commendable 👍🏻 and...

Stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The room was not very big but clean and cozy for the 4 of us. The tatami beds were very comfortable. There were 2 onsen areas, one located at B1 and another at B2 (both have outdoor and indoor pools) The one located at B1 is nicer as they have very nice outdoor...

Coming down to breakfast in a yukata and slippers would normally earn one a request to please get changed. It is, however, a common sight at this particular hotel. Particularly during the winter, the traditional Japanese room is warm and welcoming if you enjoy a different experience. When you first arrive, the smell of sulfur is strong - it's like...
