We picked up Mahoroba based upon friendly reviews and because it provides comfortable transportation from the Sapporo TV tower to the hotel and back. Please keep in mind that you have to book a place in the shuttle in advance, write to the hotel and request it. First of all, the value for money is hard to beat. You get...

The two most outstanding highlights for our family were the 31 different onsen pools in the hotel public baths, and the amazing dinner buffet, complete with premium items such as crabs, steak and sashimi. With regard to both, we were absolutely spoilt for choice. The onsen was huge, excellently maintained, and even had an outdoor slide! Naked people on slides...in...

There are many hotels in the Noboribetsu Jigokudani area and even though Mahoroba is not the nearest, it is just a pretty walkable distance (5-10mins slow walk) from it and in fact a nice cool walk in the October autumn weather. The hotel itself is huge. The carkpark is a little confusing for first timer i guess. Essentially the car...

We stayed here 2 nights from 22-23Dec. The onsen experience was splendid. Spoilt with choices of pools in the onsen, indoor and outdoor. The buffet choices was good too. Hotel staffs are friendly. Tips.. there is a small little ramen shop near the hotel (there are only 2 row of shops near the hotel), the ramen is commendable 👍🏻 and...

Stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The room was not very big but clean and cozy for the 4 of us. The tatami beds were very comfortable. There were 2 onsen areas, one located at B1 and another at B2 (both have outdoor and indoor pools) The one located at B1 is nicer as they have very nice outdoor...

Coming down to breakfast in a yukata and slippers would normally earn one a request to please get changed. It is, however, a common sight at this particular hotel. Particularly during the winter, the traditional Japanese room is warm and welcoming if you enjoy a different experience. When you first arrive, the smell of sulfur is strong - it's like...

We booked this hotel to try the onsen and the famous seafood and it did not disappoint. Hokkaido crabs and melons are not cheap, so it was great to be able to eat as much as you can at their dinner buffet. There are public baths (onsens) on B1 and B2, one for males and the other for females. They...

There are two public baths, on B1 and B2. Both offer 12 different onsen pools (if I haven't counted wrong). The open-air bath ones on B2 are really open-bath, in which where you can see the sky. The two public baths switched every day, that is, one day the B1 one is for men while the next day is for...

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The lobby may not look like much but the rooms are comfy and allows travelers to experience sleeping on tatami mats. The onsen facilities are top notch boasting a wide variety of pools to choose from jacuzzi pools to outdoor hot springs. The hotel's buffet spread boasts a large variety of dishes ranging...

We booked a family room with Pte onsen. Although it does not have amazing outdoor view, it was adequate for 2 pax and relaxing. The rooms have tasteful decor and is very clean. Bellman and front desk service were commendable, always putting on a smile. Conveniently located opposite a 7-11 and 8 min walk to the Hell Valley. Hotel is...
