The Sokha Beach Resort is located on the edge of Sihanoukville, right on the beach, and is about 30 minutes by car from the city's international airport. The hotel offers a shuttle service. The extensive, extremely well-maintained complex has around 950 traditionally furnished rooms with en-suite bathrooms and private balconies. There are two large pools, a wellness and fitness center, and a kids' club. There are various bars and restaurants in the hotel area. Our very spacious room (No. 356) had all the necessary amenities (TV, safe, coffee and tea making facilities, fruit basket for reception), as well as a large round bed with excellent sleeping comfort and an ottoman, as well as a balcony with pool and sea views. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The housekeeping worked impeccably and quickly. All employees were extremely friendly and most spoke good English. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and of high quality. Dinner in the restaurant was tasty with a relatively manageable menu and the portion size was reasonable. All prices were in US$ and, as everywhere in Cambodia, immensely high. Conclusion: Recommended top hotel

This hotel was lovely. Having read reviews of Sihanoukville I wasn't expecting much but found it really didn't deserve the harsh reviews. The place is a developing city but it w has great hotels, nice temples and fantastic beaches and restaurants.
Sokha Beach resort was lovely. It had a beautiful private beach. The rooms and shared areas of the hotel were lovely. The restaurants were pricey but nice (the sandwiches/paini with fries and salad were so large they would easily do to). Happy Hour was nice and the cocktails were good. They also had a nice spa. Lemongrass restaurant in far from the lobby so it's best you ask the front desk to take you there rather than walk at night (but the hotel has security including at entry points on the beach). The food there was nice but for the price I did expect it to be delicious. Overall I thought this was an excellent hotel with incredible friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed one night a this hotel. The hotel is very upmarket with vast reception and restaurant areas. Extremely clean throughout. The pool is very pretty with its little bridge complete with palm trees and a swim up bar. Wait til 5pm for happy hour and the cocktails are very very good.Situated right on the private beach. This is a large property with many restaurants around the grounds. Well tended gardens and some grand ornamental features. We had an ocean wing suite which was really nice with a good balcony overlooking the pool and sea. Food at the restaurants was very good indeed and service was very attentive. I had the Bangers and Mash with onion gravy, mmmmm! Sihanoukville is horrendous. A thousand acre building site. No road or building is finished. So glad we only had one night in the splendour of the hotel.

I requested a 4kg bag of laundry to be done. At checkout I discovered it cost $148 USD here. THEIVES!!!. Couldn't have been more than 2 hours work. I had a bigger bag of laundry done in Phnom Penh by a laundry service for $9 USD.

Upon arrival we had been informed our room had been upgraded which I thought was great have us extra space, but unfortunately the round bed was quite firm and the decor around the bed old and outdated, the bedside lamps where really dusty including the walls behind them. The hotel ground are lovely with a large swimming pool but quite concerned about the amount of fungi in the pool and on the grout. The beachfront was lovely but due to lack of people beach bar was not open. The breakfast was very good and catered to everyone. We used the shuttle a few times which was very good. Away from reception had some difficulty with staff understanding English eg poolbar. The meals we had at the hotel was enjoyable. For a 5 star hotel it was disappointing

We visited Sokha Beach on 3/1/25 and had an unpleasant experience. Upon arrival, we kindly asked for towels at the pool, which were gladly provided. We then went to the beach, ordered two coffees and a coconut, and planned to have lunch, a massage, and dinner at the Lemongrass restaurant on the premises.
Everything was fine until I asked a passing beach guard for the WiFi code. He requested our room number, and when I explained we weren’t staying at the hotel but were spending the day at the restaurants and spa areas, he abruptly told us to leave. He even snatched the towels from under us, shouting that we needed to pay 😡😫
We tried to explain that we were willing to pay for the towels, but no one had informed us about any charges, and we assumed it was complimentary since we were planning to spend over $100 using the hotel’s facilities. However, this man refused to listen and continued to shout at us.!!
This behavior is completely unacceptable. Sokha Beach management, please train your staff to treat guests with respect and professionalism. The way we were treated was ridiculous and made us feel unwelcome.
Such a shame for an otherwise beautiful location!

We were given a good deal for the quality of the hotel and particularly enjoyed the swimming pool. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely view of the sea and the pool and gardens. The breakfast is excellent and we enjoyed the evening meal we had in the Lemongrass restaurant which has a beautiful location right by the sea. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The Construction around this hotel and the town to turn it into a Chinese Las Vegas was absolutely terrible. Avoid at all costs. The hotel itself seems nice enough. The rooms are badly lit and while we were there , they had no TV as cables had been cut with the construction of the roads. Just stay away

Was on a Tuk Tuk tour around Sihanoukville as here for the day from our cruise ship. Our last stop was here for a bit of chill time, the reception area is big and luxurious and pool area nice and relaxing. We walked along the beach area at the side of the main hotel complex and sat on a bench where we had a cold drink from a bar area. Seems a nice place to stay but all around is construction sites so maybe in a few years time the resort will be settled and finished.

The food and service were excellent, the buildings palatial, and the beach privately owned. They upgraded our room automatically and without extra cost, which was really nice.
People say the beaches of Thailand and Vietnam are better, but since we were in Cambodia anyway, we wanted to relax on the beach and sip juice through straws. In the evenings it was wonderful to lay on a sun lounger under the palm trees, watch the sky and ocean, hear the sound of the waves, and feel the gentle breeze. Very relaxing, indeed!
On our last day at the resort, my wife and I got massages. My masseuse, Srikieng, has amazingly strong yet soft fingers. During and after my massage, I felt some deep stress was being released. This was a rare experience for me.

Unless there is a tie-up between your cruise tour operator and the resort, I don't think such an arrangement is possible. You need to book a room for stay separately. For a day visit, the resort has no physical barriers for non-guests.
