After the chaos of the port and the horrific, muddy roads, just a short 10 minute walk from the port is the oasis of the Queenco Hotel. We had sunbeds, towels & a drink for 5 dollars. As it started to rain we decided to take the golf cart to the main building and enjoy a massage in their spa. 1 hour massage 35 dollars (wonderful). We then went back to the pool area which overlooks the sea and had lunch for 10 dollars
Firstly let me say that the hotel staff are very kind and helpful. That is where it stops. This is meant to be a 5 star hotel but really its really not good. First thing you must be aware of is that the hotel is in two parts. There is one part next to the beach and another part across a very very busy and dirty road. There road is disgusting like most of the city. Its all broken and there is sewage everywhere. The problem with the sewage is major. You cannot swim in the sea of the hotel because the sea receives the raw sewage from the whole city. On the picture beautiful terrace looking toward the sunset your food will be the most attractive thing to the big shiny green flies that are normally attracted to faeces. There are hundreds of them and make it impossible to sit and enjoy your food. Its probably ok to sit there with a drink only but honestly the air of the city is filthy also. The issue with the pool is that if you are staying across the road (not beach and pool side) you need to cross the filthy busy road to get to the pool in your swimming clothes. The pool is shallow and quite small so fills up quickly. I thin the maximum depth is about 150cm. The bedrooms are ok. TV signal is terrible as its the old type of connectors. Bathroom taps and sink don't work properly and our toilet seat was broken. beds are really comfortable. The restaurants are located beach side so again a nuisance if you want to have breakfast as you have to cross busy road at rush hour traffic! To go from one building to the other the hotel offers a golf buggy service but seems pretty pointless for 100 meters. it can take the stress of crossing the road when it is busy. If it was not for the really nice staff I would have checked out immediately. I would never recommend or stay at this property again.…
good location with beauty private Beach and Swimming pool! All the staffs are friendly. Breakfast is wonderful and there are few restaurants nearby! Have a great stay in this Hotel. Definitely will stay here again! Strongly recommended
I’ve just spent 2 nights at the Queenco and was really impressed. Large, stylish room with super comfy bed and quality linen and fittings. Modern bathroom with plentiful hot water. The hotel has its own stretch of beach which is really clean. Plus it’s own pool and restaurant (bit overpriced) which are a 2 minute walk across a street from the building with the rooms. The problem is that the Chinese have bought up Sihanoukville and are busy razing and rebuilding it. So it’s a giant construction site. But if you have plans to visit, the Queenco is an oasis amidst the chaos.
Been here with group of friends for over night stay. It’s beautiful hotel with luxury amenities and friendly staff. There are various options for breakfast and you can relax outside with beautiful sea view.Highly recommended.
