I packed up our family to spend one of our best holidays at the Kenwood Oaks Guest House. Family being my husband, 2 horses and a miniature horse. We had a wonderful time exploring the Napa Sonoma area and Jack London State Historic Park. The host happened to be a volunteer at the Jack London State Historic Park. She was very knowledgeable and helpful about the area. We all had a wonderful time! Can’t wait till we can return!
I stayed here at Joan’s lovely home for a weekend. She was cheerful and helpful. She recommended places to see, places to walk, places to eat. And we had wonderful conversations over coffee in the morning and cool water in the afternoon. The wildlife was a terrific plus—hummingbirds galore and two sweet poochies. Highly recommended for a quiet weekend getaway.
We found this guest house on the internet and since Trip Advisor reviews were all positive, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Our hostess greeted us cheerfully and made us welcome with a glass of wine and cheese plate. The room we had was spacious, and very comfortable. Initially I was surprised to discover that our private bathroom was in the corridor adjacent our room. This posed no problems however, as with so few guests we were not running into anyone in the night. If you are looking for accommodations that are centrally located in the Sonoma area, near vineyards and small towns, and offering comfortable and beautifully appointed rooms at a reasonable price, this is the spot. Our hostess attempts to be helpful and as informative as possible, yet seems to genuinely enjoy company and getting to know people. Breakfast is located in a beautiful large room with big windows looking out on the property and gardens. Cereals, breads, yogurt, fresh fruit, and eggs make up the menu. You feel removed from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, but you are near points of interest and many good restaurants. I highly recommend this guest house!

Joan took such good care of me and was anticipating my needs before I did. I loved the grounds, the open floor plan, and the horses in the back. Go see the horses! The room and bathroom were fresh and clean.

We have been guests at Kenwood Oaks before, and chose to go with our favorite Guest House after a several year absence. The best news was learning that the property had escaped unscathed in the fall fires in 2017 and finding it with even more upgrades to the exterior gardens and patio area-beautiful! Kenwood Oaks is a perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a beautiful setting with wonderful amenities and a host (Joan) who attends to your every need and is a great local information source. Despite the solitude, you're literally minutes from several wineries and some great dining in Kenwood and Joan turned us on to a new restaurant and a small family vineyard we'd never visited before-both were wonderful! When we said we wanted to do some hiking, she informed us of an event at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park that was a hike surveying the fire damage from the prior year and learning about how the landscape and environment were responding. We learned a lot and really enjoyed the views. When you add in the great value in terms of what you get for what you pay, it makes choosing Kenwood Oaks a "no brainer" for the best place to stay in the Kenwood area in our opinion.…

Kenwood Oaks offers a pastoral setting for quiet relaxation and evening stargazing. We loved interacting with the two huggable family dogs, resident cat, and two horses. The cottage was very comfortable and well-appointed with a spacious kitchen. Breakfast offerings were of high quality, with fresh local/home made ingredients. Our kind host was attentive and provided a wealth of detail on nearby hiking and dining options. This is a place where we will return for rest and reflection as often as we can.

We just returned from our mini vacation in the wine country and stayed at Kenwood Oaks Guest House. Everything was absolutely superb. The atmosphere and surrounding nature allowed for pure relaxation. The host is extremely welcoming, paid attention to the smallest detail and keeps the place pristine. We will definitely return here in the future and highly recommend this place to anyone considering.

My Fiance and I stayed at Kenwood Oaks guest house the last weekend in September. This was our first trip to wine country. We wanted something peaceful but convenient for wine tasting. Everything was perfect! The cottage was so cozy and comfortable. Joan was an incredible host, from the minute she greeted us until the day we left. She gave us great recommendations in the area and even provided us with wine tasting coupons! Our favorite part of the weekend was having breakfast at the cottage while watching the beautiful horses. Joan also put out some lounge chairs to start gaze at night! The location is excellent, you feel like you are tucked away in a nice private setting but only 1 mile (which we walked) to the center of Kenwood where there are a number of wineries, tasting rooms, and a few restaurants. We drove to nearby sugarloaf park where we did some hiking. If you are looking to stay in this area, you can't go wrong with Kenwood Oaks!…

Thank you for your kind words. My favorite part of your visit was that you were so delighted with the accommodation! You are a darling couple and I so enjoyed your resourcefulness in finding everything we discussed. I hope your afternoon in Sonoma included some oysters (!!), and that you will be back to stay at Kenwood Oaks again one day.

We returned here for a 20th anniversary trip to spend a week in wine country and couldn't have been happier. Exactly what we wanted and so appreciate Joan and her hospitality. The rooms are perfect, the location is laid back, the animals are a joy. Just a wonderful week. We will be back!

Everything about our stay was excellent. The property is peaceful and well maintained without having to over-groomed sterile feel you get at some spa hotels. The rooms are all very well appointed. We were originally only staying 2 nights but enjoyed it so much we added a 3rd. In fact, we like it so much we are hoping to return next month. I think the best aspect of it all it that you immediately feel at home. Joan has a gift for striking a balance between being attentive and warm while making sure you have privacy and peace. I slept better here than at home! At home I wake up 4 or 5 times a night. At Kenwood Oaks Guest House my head hit the pillow (soft, lovely pillow) on our king sized bed and I was out like a light all night long. We did the typical Wine Country tours - all fun - but the best part was the peaceful evenings out on the desk watching the sun go down behind the hill while the horses grazed in the pasture. Joan has a special helper - Sienna. Sienna is a rescued pup who is the official greeter. She immediately becomes your new best friend - if you want her to do so. She is uncanny in her ability to know she should not go into guest rooms, who she should and should not approach, and when; Joan and Sienna are the perfect innkeeper team!…
