Just had a 3 day stay at the Kenwood Inn to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with a glass of champagne and shown around the beautiful property to the last breakfast in the fountain courtyard, everything was fabulous. We particularly enjoyed the pop up dinner on Saturday night. The rooms were extremely comfortable with a seating area with a fireplace as well as an outside patio area. I made use of the Illy espresso machine and having a fridge in the room was a bonus too. l’Occitane products in the bathroom were wonderful.
My husband and I went to Kenwood Inn and Spa for 3 nights in early April 2022. We needed some relaxation time and this was just what the doctor ordered! I purchased our room through a discount site and got a great deal. This was an anniversary trip and rather special. The first room they showed us was not what we were hoping for. They offered us a room upgrade for a bit more a night and we decided to go for it. Our suite was very spacious and the amenities were great! We had 2 fireplaces, 2 water closets, a living room, a self cleaning soaking tub, and a large walk in shower. The garden views were very soothing. The weather was very temperamental and we couldn't figure out the thermostat one day. We told the front desk and they said they would take care of it. When we got back from the day, our room was the perfect temperature. I have 3 suggestions for the room. The decor was very bland. They may want to hire a designer to go through and make the rooms a little more special. I would also recommend cleaning the outside of the windows with a cobweb duster more frequently. There are some busy spiders there! The mattress was brand new however it was very stiff for our taste. I can see how some would prefer this. Maybe they can offer a pillow topper for people who like a softer mattress. The staff was wonderful. They were all very kind and tried to find a solution to the hard mattress. The pool is beautiful and it is a saline pool. There are fountains all over the property including into the pools. Hot tub is very small, but it worked just fine for us. The warming pool was wonderful and we used it several times a day. My husband loved standing in the fountain of the warming pool while the hot water beat on his back. We enjoyed massages at the spa. The masseuse was very warm and listened to my needs and I got one of the best massages I've ever had. My husband enjoyed his as well. The pool has a small bar with a small menu. If there is not a server (there was some days), you can call on the phone by the bar and order food or drinks. There is free water and cans of soda available at the pool all day. There are cabanas you can rent as well. We opted to relax on the double covered loungers instead. One day we ordered lunch by the pool. I'll add a pic. I got a beautiful salad. It was fresh and delicious! We also got a glass of wine and a panini. Really good! The food ~ Wine and cheese hour each night was very enjoyable. We found that most of the guests gathered at the tables in the courtyard awaiting wine and cheese hour (which we found was usually around 2 hours). There is a fireplace and fountain in the courtyard and it is a nice place to wait. The cheeses were very good and a pretty good variety, served with crackers. The first night, there were bottles of wine out and you could help yourself. The third night they had the lounge open and wine tasting was hosted by Lasseter Winery. That night we brought back a loaf of sourdough from the Sonoma market to enjoy with our cheese and purchased a charcuterie board from the pool menu. It was a wonderful dinner! (I prefer sourdough with my cheese!) Breakfast was so good! I don't know if the chef has changed since other people reviewed the breakfast but it was very good. You are given a menu and you are able to choose the time you would like your breakfast delivered each morning. It was always on time and delivered in a warm bag. The entrees are different every day and you don't get to choose the entree. You can choose fruit, parfait, juice, coffee, etc.. There is a coffee maker in the room but they will bring you a fresh pot if you'd like. My favorite entree was an individual apple and bread casserole. It was just perfect and served with bacon and potatoes and a tiny jar of syrup as well. Delicious! Staff was outstanding here. They gave us great dining recommendations.…
It was out second trip to Kenwood Inn & Spa and it was a wonderful as the trip before. You are able to text Guest Services if you need anything (wine glasses, tea, etc.) and they bring it right up. All the staff is super helpful and accommodating! Our massages were wonderful as well. We will be retuning!
This place is glorious. Stunning scenery, the garden is immaculate. The vines coming up the stone walls uggghhhh it really is so beautiful just to look at. You can definitely entertain yourself just walking around this place. This is the only hotel I’ve ever gone to where the POOL + HOTUBS ARE OPEN 24-7!!! 2am dip?? No prob! Want to drink champagne in the tub?? No prob just use plastic glasses when you inevitably drop one. There’s a big and lovely standard pool, a small standard hot tub, and then this gorgeous combination pool/ hot tub that is warm and relaxing. The SMELL in the courtyard is sooooo good, I think it’s the citrus blossoms. every time I have been there it’s never been overly crowded. Just the opposite. Certainly since The pandemic it is even more low-key, but I like that about it. You can TEXT ROOM SERVICE!! So Awesome. And they are at your beck and call. Extensive channels on the TV. Gorgeously beautiful shower and bathtub. With jets. Really nice shampoo and conditioner I might add. Oh also a complementary breakfast every morning delivered to your room at the time that you choose… as well as complementary wine and cheese tasting in the evening… Oh and contrary to what you might think, this place is family friendly. I brought my kids down for the day for swimming and fun and they were being an acting like kids, which was not a problem at all. The spa is glorious as well. The best massage I’ve ever had in my life was at the spa with one of their massage therapists. What more can I say? I adore this place. Go there.…
The Kenwood Inn is my favorite place to go for a night or two to escape our very busy daily lives. There are obviously many options of places to enjoy but I can’t help but always go back to Kenwood. Why I love it: - its a boutique hotel located across the highway from a vineyard and therefore it’s quaint, quiet and serene - all rooms have a fireplace - each room is spacious, comfy and comes with robes (yes, please) - it’s pool area is beautiful and I love the views from every angle - all the lushy flora - the details of the architecture, think Italian Villa - it’s romantic and sensual - the Magic Hour wine tasting in the evenings - the breakfast delivery in the morning - coffee with a view - they have an onsite spa - it’s perfect for couples, best friends, sisters - the staff are engaging, helpful, and check in is super easy - onsite parking is simple and included - it’s down the street from some beautiful wineries - I like that it’s not Sonoma/Napa - we happily just relax, bring our own wine, lay by the pool, play cards by the pool, and just enjoy the peacefulness of it…
Bottom line-not worth the price The Good-Staff is very professional. Grounds are gorgeous. Very nice location The Bad-Breakfast is subpar. Had better at some Hampton Inns. If you have a ground floor room it is very noisy. You can hear every step above you.
I stayed here for 5 nights in late February early March. The property itself is pretty but it is located right next to the main road that is busy day and night. They placed many water features to mute the noise but it is not peaceful. The breakfast is okay and there is no option for the main hot dish and it's not very good. The yogurt is good and the fruit but you can't have both. Never saw any cordials when I was there and you get the same boxed cheese each day. I also heard another reviewer say if you don't book with them they take amenities away. The location is also not very close to many of the better restaurants and will require a car. I think other options are better at this price point.
Perfect location for a lovely getaway. A beautiful resort with an excellent spa. Treatments are limited right now but the massage was amazing. You can bust so much of the wine country form this spot. Also, great restaurants just a few minutes away.
My spouse and I stayed here only for one night. Big mistake! This place is so amazing and incredibly romantic. We stayed in a king room overlooking one of the heated pools. We did participate in the happy hour which was a delight. Many of the people joined in and it was fun meeting others on their journey. Breakfast was brought to our room the next morning and we had breakfast on our terrace in our robes. Before we headed out we took a quick dip in the heated pool. Very relaxing. When in the area again, book it! And trust me, you will need more than one night!
Great Mediterranean ambiance, the fireplace in our room, in fact in most rooms, was a nice touch. Breakfast was included, the coffee was really good, as were the yogurt, granola and the fresh fruit. But the proffered chefs species each morning could be much better (toast the muffins, make a nice quiche, warm eggs). We ate the rest of it. The wine and cheese each night was a nice prelude to our evening. We each had great massages in the spa, and we enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi near our room. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We were in an upstairs room, and would always ask for that when we go back. This was a great little get away for my wife and I.
