My wife and I booked a cabin for five nights. We were staying with a group of friends who also had their own cabin. Our room was spacious, with a kitchenette we used used every day, and an upstairs bedroom which we did not use. We used the outdoor dining area and grill for our dinners and one breakfast. Short walks to stores and lakes made this a great location. Unfortunately we stayed during the wildfires, and had smoke a few of the days, but that didn't stop us from having fun. Looking forwards to saying here next year, and completing all the hikes and adventures we could not complete this year due to the closures.
My wife and I were trying to book a last minute stay in June Lake over Labor Day weekend and were recommended to try The Villager. Spoke to Cara and Nicole and met both during our stay - they were incredibly helpful and managed to not only get us a room, but help out in every way possible. Room was very clean, restock of any / all items was easy and location was right in the middle of town. They always picked up the phone, even over such a busy weekend made even busier and more crazy by the nearby fires unfortunately and we only wish we could have stayed longer. The courtyard in the middle of the property is truly unique, very well kept and our dogs loved hanging out there while we BBQ'd :) Would highly recommend and look fwd to going back, next time during ski season hopefully! 5 minute walk to June Lake marina...10 minute walk to Gull Lake Marina...comfortable beds...great value and pleasant proprietors...restaurants and bait/tackle shop and grocery store within a 3 minute walk
This place is easy to find on the main street into town. The check in was fast and friendly. The room was of decent size and very clean The bed and pillows were excellent. The bath was small but worked. The only complaint was the the room could have used more lighting. The wi-fi was fine. Oh, remember that they don't serve breakfast, but the place across the street does.
We planned a short visit to Mammoth to ski but didn't want to stay near the resort. I found JLV online and they had good reviews so I called. Ro handled all of the booking details and was very friendly and helpful on the phone. We rented the three-bedroom cabin and it was awesome! The beds are very comfortable (all of them), and we had plenty of room to spread out. The cabin is somewhat rustic, but very clean and nice. We didn't use the wood stove and that is our only regret. It looked like it would have been really cozy, we just didn't have any energy left to work it up. The location is perfect, right next to the Tiger Bar and the food there and at the Lift down the street was very good. Great atmospheres! Ro continued to be helpful when we arrived. She made sure we were comfortable and was really interesting to talk to about everything! This would be a great place to stay in summer and winter. Great town, fantastic motel, and super friendly people.…
