We love this place and plan to return! My husband and I just returned from our stay at the historic Julian Gold Rush Hotel for our anniversary. We stayed in the honeymoon house which was idyllic! The little fireplace kept us warm while we played games on the table in the main room and the canopy bed in the bedroom... More

Stayed 2 nights in a cottage unit with fireplace and loved it. This historic hotel from years gone has modern amenities. Antiques galore, music in the parlor from the 40s, plenty of board games, books, puzzles, sitting areas both inside and out made for a wonderfully relaxing 2 days. Although no TVs, the Internet was adequate and worked most of the... More

We've been to Julian many times, but this was our first stay here. Loved the ambiance, the staff, the breakfast, and picking our own room. The rooms are small, quaint, and very comfortable. Julian is great for hiking, wine tasting, shopping, and especially apple pie! Small town, big fun!

We arrived earlier and were allowed to check out all the available rooms. Every room was clean, bright and with period furnishings. There are also to adjoining rooms for parties of four. The parlor was spacious and afternoon tea was served with delicious gourmet biscuits, cookies, dried fruit, and jellies from local vendors. The morning breakfast was outstanding and freshly... More

Wonderfully antique accommodations with modern touches. Food and beverages served in the parlor at scheduled times, and everything served is healthy and good tasting. The rooms are the average size for the era of this hotel, and all furniture is antique. Like staying at great-grandma's house in the 1930's. Absolutely love the decor and the hospitality.

We were so excited to stay in an original Hotel, built to accommodate the miners back in the 1800's. Super cool old place! Fantastic hospitality, felt right at home. VERY comfortable bed and the wall heater kept us nice and warm through the rainy night. Great ambience and scrumptious food. Thank you, we will be back!

Extremely friendly and hospitable staff. Rooms were lovely and clean. Beds were very comfortable and nicely appointed. The afternoon tea and breakfast was excellent. They even provided us with a recipe to the yummy breakfast quiche.

We have stayed at the Julian Gold Rush Hotel for 5 years. Every visit is wonderful. The staff is friendly and smiling. Lisa makes you feel right at home and the beds are really comfortable. The afternoon tea is a great touch and the breakfasts are delicious. Looking forward to next year's stay there

I called tonight to book the "Cottage"...what a mistake, condescending lady answered the phone and the disrespect began. Me- Hello my wife and I would like to come tomorrow night for two nights and stay in your cottage as we are looking for an upscale experience that includes privacy and a fireplace. Ms Unprofessional- Ah i see the cottage is... More
