The old Butterfield Stagecoach area was a great place to go Camping back in the 1980's! However this place still has a pool even though the fires wiped most of this area out Years ago. It is nice to see that it has reopened.

If your looking for the middle of nowhere, this is it. Great if you have horses! Fortunately it was a warmer weekend so we had the pick of the lot. We got a great lot under some trees. Lots to do. Pool, basketball court, kitchen, trails....I even saw someone coming from a Yoga class. Staff is friendly. Close enough to... More

We spent a night here in January and the place empty, we did not see anyone else our entire stay. However the campground was very nice and they had lots of group meeting areas for cooking or just hanging out around a firepit. This place must rock when it is full of people.

This is a gorgeous campground in a desert setting with 360 degree views of the mountains. We stayed one night and would have gladly stayed a week just for the relaxation and beautiful scenery it provided. We stayed on New Year's Eve, the campground was not crowded and we were pretty much by ourselves. The ONLY reason I rated this... More

Used a coupon for two day trip we end up only staying one due to the extreme heat and wind storm that came in and literally blew the entire day and evening it was so bad we couldn't start one fire but then again it was so hot we don't want to start a fire Very cute spot if you're... More

Stayed here while hiking through. They have specials just for Pct hikers. Free showers with your stay full laundry services. Grocery store NOT overpriced at all. Could resupply here if necessary. Ice cream it's the best! Definitely recommend for future hikers

Form the moment we pulled in we were treated like VIP's. My husband and our two horses camped over Labor day weekend for four days. It was exceptionally HOT, so I don't advise outdoor camping during this time of year. Luckily we were able to rent one of their bungalows which was equipped with 2 air conditioners. The grounds were... More

We've camped here a few times and it's always quiet and serene. We went on a few hikes that start right at the campground and head up into the canyons. There is always so much to see, and the view from the top of the hills is amazing! It was fun to check out the geocaches around the area too.... More

3.5 miles south of where PCT crosses Cal Hwy S2, just prior to Scissors Crossing, but pretty easy hitching, this place works very well for hikers. Beautiful pool, great laundry, shelter is just what is needed by a hiker, and overall price is right - good value. Store covers need for minimal hot meals onsite, including pizza & ice cream,... It was our first time desert camping, and be warned that even though Stagecoach Trails is located in Julian, it is definitely more desert terrain than mountain. Upon entering the campsite, which is located in a valley near the southern part of the Anza Borrego State Park, there is a small store. The campgrounds are on dirt and rocky gravel... More
