Jim and Julie are hands down two of the most gracious B&B hosts we've encountered! The B&B is clean, friendly, welcoming, comfortable, relaxing, convenient and the 5 Goldens are the icing on the cake! We stayed here 14 years ago and decided to take our daughter to Julian this time. We all had a great time in and around town.

( Carla ) For the Eaglenest review Such a peaceful setting, and a very relaxing area around the pool and Jacuzzi. The breakfasts were incredible with a selection that differed each morning including some amazing French toast that JIM made and an egg soufflé type dish that just melted in your mouth. Both Julie and JIM made us feel very welcomeAt their B & B. Their golden retrievers were well behaved but ready for petting when we wanted. ( Mitch ) As a slightly belated birthday celebration, I searched online for traditional Bed and Breakfast Inns (B&B) in Julian. One gave me a hard time due to local restrictions, even though I am an essential worker. Eaglenest came up as number one on Yelp. After seeing how many 5 star reviews, I called and Julie answered. We came up with a plan to celebrate Carla’s birthday. Since they were completely open, as many have been cancelling due to the Corona Virus-stay at home order, Jim and Julie were anxious to get some guests. We were lucky enough to look at all four rooms in the Guest House then choose the room we wanted. We chose the Spring room, upstairs. (Note, photos on webpage aren’t exactly what the bedroom looks like. It has a more flower full bed spread and I believe the wallpaper is different now. Better than in photos. I’ve always picked the upstairs room if given a choice, even though we were the only guests. The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Lots of windows allowed fresh mountain air to flow through, but there is an AC unit if temps would have dictated. We turned the bedroom fireplace on one morning, but truly didn’t need it. The King Bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. Great for two very relaxing nights. Bathroom is large, with a big double shower. The shower control was not labeled, but I had it figured out by the second shower. Front room with sofa, fridge, cable tv (Which we never turned on) was also super comfy. There was also a TV in the bedroom which we never turned on. Wifi was fast and consistent. The town of Julian had about 6 shops, eateries open which was more than we anticipated. One of the reasons we looked for a traditional B&B was the breakfast. Jim was a great chef, and the meals and service reminded me of being on a cruise s

My husband and I needed a getaway and this was the perfect place. Jim greeted us with an afternoon snack of apple crisp. Our room (Spring) was on the top floor and features a sitting room, super comfortable king bed, two TV's, mini fridge, coffeemaker and huge shower. Even though others were staying here, our room was quiet and peaceful. We had an amazing hot breakfast and met the sweet and kind hostess Julie and the very mellow, friendly dogs. After breakfast we were surprised to find Julie had already made our bed! I still can't figure out how she managed that and the breakfast! (I guess with Jim's help.) The B & B is close to Main Street and you can walk to the shops and restaurants easily. The gold mine is also close by and I recommend the tour. I don't think you will find a better place to stay in Julian! Everything was perfect! We will be back.

We have been coming for 10 years. this weekend is my 50th birthday and I wanted to be here. Jim and Julie are the most thoughtful kind people the place is amazing the food is delicious today we had eggs bacon poached pears and pumpkin pancakes. I saw a previous review of someone complaining about a cancellation fee please ignore that persons bad review this is a business and there’s a policy and if you cancel you get a tiny fee! it is no reason to give someone a bad review make sure to stay in the winter room it has a wood-burning fireplace !
