Your basic motel ambiance, with friendly staff and decent food in the cafe. Nope, not a spa, just your basic slightly worn but quite serviceable lodgings. Significantly less expensive than just about everything else in the area. And for those who found the WiFi slow, it's satellite based with 2Mb down and 1Mb up. Don't plan on streaming, but works for email and lightweight web surfing. Heater in the room worked just fine, bathroom was slightly cramped but clean. Just the thing for a road trip.

The best, was comparable to any home cooked Thanksgiving Dinner. Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans & cranberry sauce. Options: large or modest portion. Simpler deco, friendly staff. Apple, pumpkin or pecan pie. Perfect! Visit the Sea Ranch Chapel nearby.

My wife and I were staying in Gualala, and decided to take a top-down trip along the coast to have lunch. We hadn't been to the Ocean Cove Grill for a while. As it was a beautiful, warm day, we thought we'd sit outside on their deck and have a nice lunch. So we drove down to Ocean Cove Lodge and went inside. The hostess came up to us, and we told her that we'd like to sit outside on their deck, which had a beautiful view of Ocean Cove and Salt Point. The hostess looked like we had just asked her to carry us to our table. She said in a dismissive tone, "I'm not serving out there today." My wife and I couldn't believe that on a day when the temperature was in the 70's they wouldn't seat us outside. So I said, "We'd really like to sit outside. Is there a reason why we can't?" She just shrugged her shoulders, and said again that she was not serving outside. It's not like it was a lot farther to go. The deck was right outside the door. It might have been an extra ten steps to serve us outside. We thought she was being unreasonable, so we told her we had decided not to eat there. She shrugged again like she really didn't care, turned around and walked off. The Kincaid Fire had been going for a day or so, and two days later the power was turned off. So I guess the Ocean Cove folks must be doing really well to turn away guests over a perfectly reasonable request. I wish them well, but I can tell you that I'll never go back there. But obviously, they don't seem to care.

Delicious food and great service ! Beautiful view of the ocean . Nice place to sit and have a bite to eat and a drink. Weary travelers can stop here and enjoy a little respite from the drive . The ribs were tender and delicious. As were the fish and chips . Burgers are double patties and fries are good crinkle fries

First, let me say Ocean Cove Lodge is NOT in Jenner, CA. Every lodging website you click on says this is in Jenner but it's NOT! It's located in a separate town 17 miles from another little town named Jenner. The town this Lodge is in is Timber Cove which is easy to miss while on Highway 1. Then, if you try calling or pulling your phone, there's no internet signal in the area. The worst part is when I got there to check-in, I met the the front attendant who showed up my name incorrectly in his system. When he finally found my name I explained why my name is the way it is. He started making racist comments like this is America, etc. He also said he had a relative working for the Immigration Dept., etc. I couldn't believe I was really going through this. He really was trying to lure me into an argument. I chose to walk away and headed to my room. The room? Well, this lodge is very run down. The room I ended up with was tiny and with a tiny bed a TV. The Bates Motel had better rooms! I don't recommend anyone staying here. In the mornings, the same racist person makes the coffee and watches you as you serve yourself coffee. Their spa didn't have water either. As for the Bar & Grill, we ate here too. We had their clam chowder which was good but a tiny cup for $6 - Expensive! I ordered an entree with Not much flavor. Was like a nightmare on steroids for me. I will never stay here again.
