Great place to relax from it all. Comfortable accommodation with everything you need. Wonderful views whichever way you look. Sylvia & Giampaolo were very hospitable and offered good advise of places to visit. Giampaolo's home made bread is well worth a try.

We just came back from a week (12-19/September) at Borgo Poggiolo. We are two couples that are traveling a lot in Italy, and after staying in more than dozens of deferent AgrIturismos, we can say that - Borgo Poggiolo is our Numero Uno!!! All was perfect; an excellent location for exploring Umbria, a grate place for stay-in and relax, a... More

At the end of a long winding road that seems to go on forever, you arrive at a lovely, peaceful spot in Umbria, surrounded with trees and breathtaking views. The farmhouse is beautifully restored, inkeeping with the style of Umbria and stylishly decorated. A swimming pool with relaxing recliners tops it all. Rustic villages nearby and within easy acces of... More

It looks like the end of the word, but you will arrive in Paradise! Since 2001 we are visiting Borgo Poggiolo now and then and every time we are surprised again: the Borgo, the rooms, the beautiful garden, the lovely swimmingpool , the tranquility and the great hospitality of Sylvia and Giampaolo. they are all wonderful! The other reviews don't exaggerate: Borgo Poggiolo is truly a paradise. Fantastic location with green panoramic views in all directions, at the end of a 2 km unpaved road. Beautifully restored old farmhouse complex with spacious and clean rooms, and a wonderful swimming pool. But most of all: salutary peace. Sylvia en Giampaolo were professional, helpful and hospitable, and we... More

I can't believe I've never written up Borgo Poggiolo on Tripadvisor. We have been there three times now and a fourth visit is around the corner. If, like us, your idea of a perfect holiday is time spent in exquisite surroundings, looked after unobtrusively by superb hosts, and with access to some of the greatest art and architecture Europe has... Ten days we spent at Borgo Poggiolo were the vacation of our dreams. First time in Umbria and definitely will come back! The location is amazing - secluded, on a hilltop with breathtaking views and sky full of stars at night. The valley and the small towns in the neighbourhood are perfect for trips both on foot and by car... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The farmhouse with pool, overlooking an untouched wooded valley, is set in the gentle Umbrian hills. The 17th century farm buildings have been faithfully restored in the typical local style, retaining many original features and all of its authenticity and rustic charm. It’s divided into four self-catering apartments and three separate double rooms. All apartments have an outside seating area. The perfect place to come and explore the tranquil Umbrian countryside. We are ideally situated for walking or mountain biking, great way of exploring the hilltops, valleys and woods. Breakfast with home-made bread and conserves, delicious meals cooked with local ingredients, including our own produce, could be provided by the owners. The large swimming pool, 6x17 m² with spectacular panoramic views, is complete with garden loungers. We offer also mountain bikes-archery - lawn bowling and a games room equipped with a table tennis table. Our farm is a ten-minute drive away from Borgo Poggiolo and has 13 ha. of pasture, woods and olive trees, a little herd of cows, a horse and some donkeys. ... more   less
