This is a favorite B and B for us. Friendly staff and helpful with information. The staff is helpful in every way. Every detail in the decor was spot on. The shower heads are ceramic. The chain flush toilet is real. The needle point pictures are real. The open doors make it fun to see the other rooms. You could... More

The feel of an old cowboy hotel and saloon with really friendly staff. Everyone does a bit of everything so it all runs smoothly. There aren't any TVs in the room but you can ask for one if you need your fix. We didn't want one as we didn't want to spoil the authentic feel of the hotel. We had... More

Up in the Big Tree Country and we over nighted in Jamestown. A sort of funky blast from the past village and we were booked into the National Hotel for the night. Decor very Victorian and mine host cheerily greeted us and showed us our rooms which were all set out in period furniture. Although quite compact the rooms were... More

One of our favourite hotels we stayed in. I was really looking forward to staying here and it didn't disapoint. The decor was amazing lovingly restored and decorated as it should look when it was a hotel in the 1800s. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of information of things to do. There was a lovely patio where... More

We visited the National Hotel last month on a road trip round California and after a day in Yosemite. Its a really charming friendly hotel in a lovely town where you can feel the gold rush theme. The room was cosy yet comfortable the banter about the resident ghost was fun. You could spend an hour just looking around the... More

I was looking to say somewhere the had a story and the National hotel ft the bill. I loved the possibility of saying hello to Flo the resident ghost. Great historic hotel in Jamestown, that was clean, comfortable and historic. I was in town for the Sonora Gold show and wanted to stay somewhere that had some history to it. Wonderfully... More

Lisa....Thank you for your positive response. Indeed, it was a pleasure to meet and talk with you, especially, with all the gold knowledge that you shared. The fact that we accept gold dust upon check-out from the hotel is not just a novelty, but a continuation of history in the West. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing... More

We enjoyed our dinner and stay here so much the first time in June, that we arranged our schedule so we could stay here again and have a wonderful meal on their patio again in August. Historic hotel rooms are beautifully detailed, each different decor. I love their cheese tortellini, just as good as the first time, and my husband... More

On our roadtrip in California this summer we had a night in Jamestown. As we entered the little town we felt we were back in the wild West. Such a lovely town! If you need a quick getaway but still want a cozy atmosphere, this is for you! Here you can experience both history and comfort. We have been here several times and enjoyed it each time. An old hotel from the 1800's, very quaint. The staff is great and the restaurant and bar are really good. Lots of shopping on the street. Be on the look out for "Flo", the hotel ghost. Clean rooms and no tv's.
