This is a large hotel complex situated within restored building in large grounds. It was quite difficult to locate our room as none of the signs showed it, the QR code was not helpful. Room 18 was well appointed with a sofa, desk & chair with velux windows and the original half moon window. The room was never completley dark due to the outdoor lighting and the difficulty in curtaining these windows. The shower room is large, modern with plenty of space for toiletries, had a hairdryer and underfloor heating. Very good lighting. Breakfast was very good with a mix of hot and cold options, good coffee. Free wifi with good reception in the room. large grounds to walk around.

I spent one night at Vihula Manor, located in a wonderfully scenic area. The manor building and restaurant were beautifully decorated, offering a truly delightful visual experience. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive.
Unfortunately, the overnight stay did not meet my expectations. The room I stayed in was stuffy despite keeping the window open all day and night, which made the stay uncomfortable. Furthermore, the beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable—I couldn’t sleep at all, which ruined the overall experience.
There was also some confusion regarding the restaurant. I had booked a table a week in advance, but no one informed me that dinner would be served buffet-style. While the food itself was excellent, it would have been nice to know this detail beforehand.
It is also worth mentioning that the spa is located outside the main building. While this might not be an issue in summer, it becomes inconvenient during winter due to the cold weather.
Overall, Vihula Manor is a beautiful location for enjoying nature and relaxing for a short visit. However, based on this experience, some improvements are needed. For example, better ventilation in the rooms, more comfortable bedding, and clearer communication during bookings would enhance the experience significantly.

Wonderful property, well restored, old mansion style is combinef with modern comfort. A la carte was very tasty, service was excellent both at dinner and in reception. Spa had nice hot sauna and seating outside was nice addition during sunny day. Spa drinks were overpriced, but there was an option of free water as well. Interior of rooms was authentic, good size, but you could consider having shampoo and conditioner as room amenities. Good place for holiday.

The hotel doesn’t care about the safety of its guests: in the Covid environment, customers stand close to each other in a small room at the breakfast. It's the same with the spa dressing room. In the spa room, the water wasn’t removed from the floor at all, so my child fell and other clients slipped on the wet floor.
The bathroom in our room smelled like sewage, the bathtub was moldy, and there was no cleaning for three days. After a reminder, the cleaning lady threw out the trash, but the floor was not cleaned. Moreover, looking at the plastic bottles sticking out of the bin, she asked me what I mean by cleaning the room. Ha ha, I didn't know I needed to take cleaning instructions for the hotel staff.
At the dinner, the waitress refused to provide any table we liked on the pretext that she didn’t want to change the number of cutleries at the tables, forcing us to sit at the only table set for 3 persons. Despite the fact that 7 out of 9 identical tables were free.
Even though I had booked a suite with a queen bed and a sofa bed, the sofa bed for the child was not prepared. In response to our polite request to prepare the sofa bed, the hotel staff began to argue with us that we should have informed them in advance that we wanted to prepare the sofa bed for sleeping (of course, there was no third set of towels).
Generally, there are enough beautiful places and nice hotels in Europe. And the main thing that distinguishes them is the quality of the service that Vihula Manor cannot provide.

Hotel was lovely. Location was beautiful. Staff were nice and friendly. SPA was small but cozy. Food was delicious in à la carte restaurant.
The only reason why I gave 4* not 5* is because I was not too happy that all premises are scattered around. During summer season I do not see any issues with it but in colder season like now, getting from room to SPA or restaurant was quite unpleasant.

Vihula Manor is a lovely property surrounded by vast green areas. A dream! Our room was a romantic place where old meets new, where time just stops and brings us back to just being "us". The perfect harmony between stone and wood, the view of the river and the continuous sound of the water just out of our window was an immersive experience in the power of nature and a lullaby at night. And then, early morning, walking along the lakes and bridges, what an amazing, refreshing experience! Dinner and breakfast were rich, elegant, tasty and beautiful. Every ingredient carefully chosen, local ingredients, milk, meats...fruits and vegetables just from round the corner. Oh yes! In fact just behind the spa building you can walk through the orchard and see a variety of spices, herbs, fruits, vegetables and pick yourself from the trees if you want to try. Absolutely a place to come back to...do not forget to explore the Museum, the Café, enjoy the spa, sports and more! My personal suggestion is to be there for at least two nights or even three. No less! One night is not enough :)

Vihula manor complex is a great place to spend a holiday. We stayed at the hotel of Vihula manor for one night while visiting the sights of Lahemaa and we were very satisfied. The surroundings are very beautiful and calm and quiet. Breakfast was very rich and delicious. As for the price of the hotel, it seemed a bit high (114 Euros for a double room) and the rooms did have a refrigerator, which was unfortunately empty. The bathroom would have assumed the presence of shampoo and conditioner as appropriate in 4-star hotels. The other things were all on level and the overall impression was great. I dare to recommend to everyone!

This is a fabulous and elegant country property in Estonia which is in desperate need of repair.
Promising a top end spa retreat, it is not.
Its crazy golf, for example, costing €24 felt like a derelict and overgrown legacy of the past.
The pool was closed.
Our room in the out building was on the top floor and after some very steep and spidery stairs. Our room smelt bad and was dark and dirty, had a poor shower, and furnished with poor furniture and no taste….AVOID THE OUTBUILDING
Staff were, in general, over-stretched and grumpy….
With so much potential this was a real disappointment….with one highlight: dinner was good.
Overpromising and overpriced and disappointing

Vihula Manor is beautifully renovated, a big complex of the main building and outhouses with accommodation available for different prices. The kitchen serves tasty breakfast and delicious dinner. The staff was very careful to look after the safety and social distancing of guests.

It was the 24th wedding day for us, and we arrived at the manor very happy, but unfortunately the reception staff ruined the mood in just 5 minutes. Everything was very formal and inhospitable, we ourselves had to carry into the room not only our suitcases and flowers, but also a flower vase, which I asked at the reception desk. The cappuccino was also given to my wife simply "in hand", although she asked if it was possible to carry it into the room. In short, the staff did not want to do anything to make our stay enjoyable. Also, the temperature in all rooms of the main house was low, which also did not contribute to the feeling of comfort and happiness. The food selection in the restaurant is very poor. The restaurant was served by the same girl as at the reception, which was somewhat strange for us, and of course unpleasant, I already wrote how she met us. On the plus side, I can note the cleanliness of all rooms and a good breakfast. By the way, I didn't like the spa either, but that's my subjective opinion.
I will hardly return to this place myself or recommend to friends.
