Great service and lodging. We had rooms #2 (with a kitchen) and #5 (no kitchen. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms, grounds and common areas were clean. The rooms were cute, with simple but elegant decorations. There was little noise from the road or neighbors. Both rooms had decks with views of the bay and hills. The...

The room was small, unevenly painted and lacked a closet. We had to use an electric heater to warm it. The bathroom was chilly, and the woodwork quite worn, even though the sink was modern. We were able to enjoy our patio one day, and the private view was wonderful. However, all in all, we felt we paid luxury prices...

Sounds like you were disappointed in some aspects of your room. Your expectations were most likely not based on how we present the property. The motel was built in the 1950s so the rooms are smaller than new motels. The rooms have been refurbished over the years, are nicely furnished and updated, some of the rooms do not have closets...

My wife and I wanted to find a cozy, clean and comfortable place to get away from it all for a few days and this unique place fit the bill perfectly. The peace, tranquility, and relaxing atmosphere, coupled with the spectacular views, were exactly what we were looking for. To top it off, our room was spotless, well decorated, and...

I lead photography workshops for adult students. They like their accommodations to be special. Motel Inverness is one of the group favorites. It's great to stay where every room is different and spectacular and be treated like family by the amazing staff. When I advertise that our group will be staying here my groups fill up like magic!!

Thank you David for your nice comments. We love our groups and how much they add to our day. Groups use our Main Lodge as it is meant to be used as a gathering place for friends and family to relax by the fire, have a light meal, share coffee and biscotti, play pool, catch up and chat a while....

Was looking for a place to stay that complimented Point Reyes National Seashore. Motel inverness fits the bill. It is on Tomales Bay with a serene view to the eastern shore. I wasn't even checked in yet and I saw a coyote skulking the shore. The owners were really nice and helpful. The location is a great jumping off point...

Spend a night in a clean lovely room number 6.. the only thing I did not personally enjoy is the TV sets and people who are unconscious about the volume of their TV's. Had to ask our neighbor to tone it down around 11 pm, thanks God he did. The motel does state in each room that the quiet time...

Quiet and serenity is what our guests come here to enjoy. The natural surroundings and the views create a peaceful and relaxing place to enjoy Point Reyes. Once in a while we have a guest that falls asleep watching TV or turns up the volume and looses track of time. We look forward to seeing you again. Janice & Michael...

Mrs. Tigerseye and I had booked the Room With a View for a 3 day stay on an anniversary trip. Michael and Janice were excellent and friendly hosts. Just going out on the back deck and looking over the marsh, bay, and surrounding hills could last for hours and help wash any anxieties over the trip from SFO melt away....

This lodge/motel is peaceful and memorable. Although our room was a little cramped , the bed and bathroom were comfortable with the latter well appointed.
