Very comfortable accommodations with easy access to park. Little amenities like the basics in the kitchenette to the very informative book of places to go and things to see, in addition to how to run the stove heater, pool rules, quiet hours etc. meant I did not have to hunt down any of the information for a comfortable stay. Convenient parking and picnic table on the porch added to the coziness. I will definitely return in the future.
Room very nice, just cold in the morning as expected. Lots of great places to go nearby Point Reyes and Tomales National Park Nice Kitchen and utensils Lots of blankets Recreational activities, hot tub and pool
Booked a cottage for 2 nights during Thanksgiving long weekend for my family. Very conveniently located - not very close to the village nor very far from the sightseeing areas. Self check-in was easy. Cottage was clean and cozy 1-bedroom suite with a kitchenette. Kitchenette was tiny but well equipped for cooking meals. Beds were well made with plenty of pillows and blankets. The property has pool and hot tub and plenty of towels. It was refreshing to be in the hot tub on a cold evening. Andy was helpful and provided adequate information. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay at the Cottages in a rustic environment. Will definitely recommend this place for a getaway at Pt. Reyes.
We had a one night get-away to Point Reyes. We hiked around on a cool December day and went to check into the Cottages at Point Reyes as the sun set. Check-in was handled, in covid times, so we just had to get the note from the kiosk as we drove in. So easy! The fireplace heater was already going and the lights on. So welcoming! Cooking dinner in the kitchenette worked out great--it is a mere kitchenette but sufficient of everything. OK, washing dishes in the tiny sink took attention but hey, kitchenette, right? We were there for the glorious outside experience of Point Reyes. The cottage room had tons of windows so we still felt part of outside while having a warm room with a stove fire. If it had been warm weather we would have had coffee on our patio. The next morning I kept overlooking the drawer with the coffee filters. I called and got someone right away who told me where they were. I wish I could do such a cheerful tone for a silly question. Good coffee too, with generous amount. We strolled the pleasant grounds. In December we did not use the attractive pool area nor play tennis or use the sports equipment from the sports shed. We didn't even get out the board games or puzzles from the shed. This would be a good place for a family group. The energetic can hike all day at Point Reyes. The less energetic can hike some and spend some time hanging around at the abundant picnic tables and chairs or at the poolside or doing the nature walk that starts from the place. Children would have places to frolic. Downsides: our mattress was little firmer than my tastes. No electrical outlet next to the night table on my side. The location is intended for a country get-away so the local restaurant choices are limited, especially in the winter during Covid. These are minor, obviously.…
This was our 1st getaway since covid and it was the ideal spot. The landscaping and fall color around the cottages is delightful. It was so peaceful and inviting with a waterfall feature outside our cottage and comfy adirondack chairs. Also, the cottages are on a large expanse of property with a trail, large open meadows and a tennis court and pool. The rooms are very comfortable with great views to the outside. We highly recommend this lovely place.
1. Visited Oct 2nd week-12-15..3 nights-Thrush Song room.- 2. Cleanliness is a lot better in all aspects. 3. Good number of pillows.Place is typical garden type. 4. Tree branch need to be trimmed, too low for 6footer along the way from Parking. 5. 2nd bed -spring type , too noisy when rolling over. 6. Ceiling SkyLights -No cover..Too bright..not good for late sleeper. 7. Flooring - unstable in some area near the dining table.
The cottages are located amidst the beautiful Point Reyes National Seashore. Our unit had everything we needed-no detail left unattended to! It was super comfortable and even had a small outdoor porch with table and chairs to relax outdoors. A perfect getaway for couples and especially families-a very family friendly place.
Rooms are kitchenettes with two units in each building with separate outdoor deck for each unit for al fresco dining and relaxing outdoors. Units are clean, modern and comfortable, a nice balance of enough amenities yet retains the feel of a a country inn. Conveniently located to Inverness and Point Reyes Seashore points of interest. Very quiet and feels secluded. Great for families.
This was my first time staying at the Cottages, although I have been to Point Reyes many times. I loved the woodsy, friendly atmosphere of this place. The weather was unusually warm, so having the pool (as well as the beach a short walk across the road) was an added plus. Susan was very responsive and made sure I had everything I needed. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
We are two adults and stayed in King #12. On the positive side is the location, so close to Pt Reyes. It was very quiet and the grounds are beautiful. The bed was very comfortable, and the table and chairs were perfect for enjoying the dinner we brought and prepared in our kitchenette. On the negative side; several of the dishes, pans, and utensils were dirty. There is a sign over the sink stating there is a $25 charge if dirty dishes are left. Clearly no one checked the dishes and pans in the cupboard. The shower was a nightmare. It is a tub/shower and only 1/2 of the water came out of the shower spout and the other half came out of the tub spout, so the flow was very light from the shower spout. In addition, the temperature fluctuated sporadically between scalding and cold. It was a shock to my system. Basically I had to stand out of the water and clean myself with a wash cloth getting it wet from the shower flow when it wasn't scalding. I could not wash my hair and it sure needed it after 2 days of hiking with a sunhat on. My husband opted for a bath. The last morning was a bit nippy so we tried to turn the heater on, but it would not work. There is a binder with thorough instructions which we followed, but it did not work. The light over the sink in the kitchenette is so dim I could not see to wash the dishes. Fortunately there was a lantern in the closet which I could rig up over the sink. One of the lamps at the bedside table did not work. I sent an email when we left to the owners explaining the problems we encountered. Their response was "Thanks for your comments. We will check these issues." We are disappointed in their response, and will not be staying at the cottages again.…
