We drove in from Los Angeles for a weekend getaway and had a great stay at the Sands Hotel. Every corner of the hotel is a beautifully decorated and my wife found plenty of Instagram-worthy shots! Haha. The rooms are unique and we loved our balcony on the deluxe room. More importantly the rooms are quiet and there is low foot traffic as there aren’t many rooms at the hotel (45??) The pool area was relaxing with big cabanas and excellent service. The food prices are on par with a higher end hotel and we were very happy with everything we ordered. Check-in is 4pm and we got there early and had some drinks at the Pink Cabana which is attached to the hotel. 4pm is on the later side and with COVID they took the time they needed to clean all the rooms so we didn’t get in until about 3:45pm. Overall we had a nice, relaxing weekend at the Sands Hotel and Spa and we will definitely come back again.

My fiancé and I have been looking for places to plan a small elopement in 2021 and we came across the Sands at the recommendation of some friends of ours. We have been in communication with Olivia, the wonderful Area Director of Sales who has able to give us more information about having our event there and assisted us with setting up a short overnight stay there so we could take a look at the property for ourselves.
We were warmly greeted upon arrival at the front check in desk and were quickly shown to our beautiful deluxe king room- I can’t say enough how much we both loved the room! The sitting area was very comfortable with the fun mini-bar, the bed was very luxurious, and the music already playing as we entered our room was a nice touch!
I think the best part of our stay was the wonderful service we received while sitting outside the Pink Cabana restaurant from bartender Faith, and later that evening from server Yazmin. When we told Faith that we were considering the property for our wedding, she kindly showed us around the olive grove area so we could envision what an outdoor wedding would look like, and let me ask her questions about what the weddings had been like during her time working at the Pink Cabana. Her friendly, upbeat, welcoming attitude was just so pleasant to be around while we relaxed with our drinks outside the restaurant.
When we went back to get dinner on the patio later that evening, our server Yazmin was also incredibly gracious and attentive as we enjoyed dinner together, always checking in on us, making sure we had everything we needed, which really made for the most pleasant evening.
We really enjoyed our quick getaway to the beautiful Sands and I can’t express enough how much I appreciated the warm and friendly staff that maintained an amazing attitude at all times while adhering to COVID guidelines- I did notice that as soon as someone got up from a seat to leave, a staff member was there right away to wipe their spot down to make it ready for the next guest.
Thank you so much again to the wonderful staff of the Sands for a great overnight trip!

This is a fairly small and intimate resort and we loved our two night get away here. We stayed in a standard King room with a very comfy bed. There are fresh coffee urns at the pool area at 6 AM with an nice assortment of creamers. The servers come out to the pool area starting at 8 AM. Ordering our breakfast both mornings and having it served right to our lounge chairs started our days off perfectly. We both agreed the food was so good here we didn't need to go anywhere else ... and we didn't want to go anywhere else. The pool area is clean and quiet, no kids (yay!). We watched them clean the pool each morning but yes, by mid day there were bugs floating on the top as they are trying to get water and get caught. Hazard of hot, desert pools I assume. There was low background music and for a few minutes Saturday afternoon the volumne whent up but then it went right back down. Had no problem talking by the pool. We ate breakfasts and lunches by the pool as well as had cocktails and the service was spot on. We ate dinner in their awesome restaurnet one night and again, we had fabulous service and food. I can't say enough about all of the staff. Everyone was delightful, friendly, helpful and courteous. We will be coming back and I'm coming back with hubby too!

This hotel is nice looking, but really falls short on just about everything else. First, be prepared, they have an "aroma system" that pumps a synthetic flowery smell throughout the hotel. I guess some people like it, but if your not one of those, it's inescapable. My check in was smooth at the front desk, although when I got to my room there was someone else's luggage already in it. They quickly changed my room, which was fine, but later in the evening when I went to grab water, the bottles were empty and re- sealed. I went for lunch and the service was inattentive and slow. Later that night, I discovered 1/2 the rooms of the hotel are right on the 111 and loud. I was tired enough the first night to sleep through all but the occasional truck and sirens.
The only common area is the pool, which when I was there, was loud with inebriated middle aged women. Not the most pleasant spot to hang out, as the hotel is more of a converted motel with a pool in the center.
The next day I went for breakfast at 8:15 only to be greeted by bartenders and servers lining trash cans, dumping trash, folding napkins on the bar next to me and having loud conversations about the Dodgers. I would have thought good management would ask the employees to finish that type of work before opening so a guest could enjoy their breakfast. The food itself, was uninspiring, an overpriced avocado toast on a single, small, soggy slice of bread. We made a couple of complaints and were able to check out early.

The rooms are comfortable and the hotel makes for great pictures, but the service really left us wanting more. There were other instances where we thought the hotel could have done better, but the poolside service is what really stands out as being poor.

First, the pool service was incredibly slow- we only saw our server once every hour. When our lunch came out they only gave us 2 place settings when there were 3 of us eating. No one ever checked on us, so the 3 of us shared 2 forks to eat. Later, we ordered a bottle of rose and it was still corked when they brought it to us. Again, no one ever check on us to open it so we had to take it back to our room to open it ourselves and bring it back to the pool. Later on one of the staff accused us of bringing outside alcohol to the pool.
At checkout I asked to see an itemized bill of all charges made to the room. I found a receipt that was very clearly supposed to be charged to another room.
I did appreciate that the food and beverage manager called me to ask about my experience and I was very honest with her that I would not book this hotel again nor recommend it to anyone. She graciously offered to comp our first round of drinks at the bar. I thought that was a generous offer since I was not expecting any kind of compensation. However, instead of comping my card I was charged for another round of drinks. I had to call the hotel again and ask them to remove this charge as well as refund me the original charge they offered to credit. It took about a week to resolve.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, but if you do book this place make sure to check your room charges and monitor your credit card. The hotel design is lovely, its a shame that the service does not equal the decor.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We strive to provide excellent service and apologize wholeheartedly for falling short of that goal. Your feedback will be discussed with our team in order to improve in that area. We also regret that our food and beverage manager's attempt to resolve the situation was unsuccessful. However it's good to know the additional charges to your card were addressed. It saddens us that you wouldn't return, despite our beautifully decorated, photo-worthy property and comfortable accommodations. Your comments are welcome and we wish you safe and pleasant travels. The hotel is lovely and we have loved it. Have stayed numerous times over the past four years. This time it looked as though some deferred maintenance and refresh is needed. The outdoor patios are very enjoyable, but our private patio was dirty, lots of ants and the furniture cushions really need to be washed. Our bathroom faucets did not work well, and the makeup mirror was falling off the wall. These are little details that can be easily overlooked by staff, but for a luxury hotel they should be addressed. We also found the restaurant very hard to work with for groups.

I'd really forgotten what gracious hotel staff can do for your psyche after even a few days. The Sands in it's entirety was a wonderful experience: Each person we encountered was so welcoming, helpful and gracious beyond measure. We enjoyed the deluxe king with wet room & soaking tub - LOVE! The pool is perfect, just the right size with daybeds galore - unbelievably at no up-charge. The Pink Cabana prepared marvelous food & drinks: Pool Thyme & Moroccan refresher, the BEST frito misto ever & a salmon tartine were the perfect refreshments to compliment our relaxation. Thanks to Lisette at the pool, we wanted for nothing, except maybe a few extra days to relax & indulge. Thank you, Sands, we'll be back ASAP!

Spa: fantastic massages by Richard and Stephen! Only wish they had additional facilities like a steam room.

Hotel: loved the Moroccan decor, nice change from the typical mid century modern style in PS. We appreciated the heated pool and jacuzzi + complimentary iced tea and coffee. Rooms were comfortable though the shower water pressure was low and the rugs could use a shampoo. Adults only so the vibe was relaxing (though plenty of guests had yappy dogs).

Restaurant: lovely ambience but service was awful. We were totally ignored for the first 15 mins and finally had to flag a server down. Fritto misto was mostly olives with only a tiny bit of calamari and artichokes. The mezze platter and club sandwich were pretty good, but we were starving by the time the food arrived so would’ve been happy with stale crackers at that point. The Turkish coffee ($8) was delicious! There are far better restaurants in the area at this price point, especially given the lackluster service.

Overall would recommend this hotel for a relaxing getaway but would skip the restaurant.

I stayed at the Sands last week for work. I typically have to be in Indian Wells for a work event every January, and we always have room blocks at another hotel (big, blah chain). This year, I chose to stay at the Sands as not only was I in love with the decor, the room rate was lower than our block and the hotel was closer to our event location.

I had been to the hotel a year ago but only to dine at the Pink Cabana. Absolutely love how Martyn Lawrence Bullard redid the place - so photo-worthy! It reminds me so much of riads in Marrakesh.

I stayed in room 8 for two nights. This room was on the highway side, and while you can definitely hear the noise when the patio door is open, I could not hear anything when it was closed.

In the room, I loved everything, from the cute decor, functional layout, nice outdoor patio with water fountain, and the adorable and unique bar area.

I also loved that the hotel is very dog-friendly. A dog I follow closely on Instagram (who happens to be the dog of my celebrity supercrush) was there the same time (with his dad, whom I did not see 😩).

Pool area was great, with different sizes of chairs and beds. It was also never crowded during my visit.

Definitely will stay here every time I am in Indian Wells.

What a wonderful and gorgeous hotel! Every detail of the rooms and the pool and the Pink Cabana restaurant was just beautifully designed. The staff was always attentive and kind - even learning your names after just a day and making you feel so welcome and cared for. Paige at the pool was an amazing host, and the manager Shanny was so gracious and helpful at every turn. The restaurant has amazing food, and the pool is just a grown-up paradise just 25min from the airport. There was even a sand-storm and because of the hotel design we were sheltered from it and didn't even realize it was happening. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone. Enjoy!
