Just stayed here two weekends ago, which was our second stop on our babymoon for baby #2. The hotel was aesthetically pleasing, but didn’t offer much for us beyond that. Here’s why: - We paid extra for a room with a patio/balcony, and we got stuck in a cave-like room that was very dark and had an un-inviting patio (room 21 I believe). Right by the pool - convenient, but noisy. - We could hear EVERY footstep of the people in the room above us. I believe they had a dog, too, so extra noisy. - Overall hotel was not the right vibe for a babymoon - better suited for a bachelorette. - Super steep prices for food. We ended up splitting a pasta entree for dinner (and no drinks) and the bill was still $60+ - No seating by the pool unless you stake out a spot early. Luckily we did this. But be sure to grab some towels, because otherwise you’ll be sitting on sunscreen-and-sweat stained cushions. In conclusion, we were supposed to stay for 2 nights, but we ate the price of the second night in order to get out of there. We had more peace and quiet that second night at home with our toddler. If you’re a couple looking for a romantic stay, or just a person who hopes to get some sleep at night or a reasonably priced meal, I think there are other places to stay that are better suited for that. Unless you want your photo in front of the cute, pink walls. But the price per night isn’t worth that photo, in my opinion.

What a truly memorable trip. I don't want to run too long but this is by far my favorite hotel in the desert and I've stayed at a few high end properties. The Sands is a true gem and the service and accommodations surpass all others- including the private villas at The Hyatt. We had the pleasure of staying in room 15 on the ground floor, which was steps from there quiet luxury of the intimate daybeds at the pool. Mellow pool music played and misters came on when it started to get a bit toasty warm. I truly wish I could have stayed longer but alas, work called. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed if you are lucky enough to snag one of the fabulous rooms- however the deluxe rooms with that soaking tub and large patio are to-die for!! From check-in with Shanny, who set us up before check-in time; to Lisette at the pool; to all the rest of the phenomenal support staff- you all make a gem of a property truly shine!!

I'd really forgotten what gracious hotel staff can do for your psyche after even a few days. The Sands in it's entirety was a wonderful experience: Each person we encountered was so welcoming, helpful and gracious beyond measure. We enjoyed the deluxe king with wet room & soaking tub - LOVE! The pool is perfect, just the right size with daybeds galore - unbelievably at no up-charge. The Pink Cabana prepared marvelous food & drinks: Pool Thyme & Moroccan refresher, the BEST frito misto ever & a salmon tartine were the perfect refreshments to compliment our relaxation. Thanks to Lisette at the pool, we wanted for nothing, except maybe a few extra days to relax & indulge. Thank you, Sands, we'll be back ASAP!

My husband and I came here for a 3 day weekend and fell in love! From the moment we entered onto the property, you feel like you are in a resort somewhere tropical and magical. The service and staff are top notch! The food and drinks were delicious! The layout of the pool is fantastic -- both shade and sunny spots. Rooms are really cool with great back patio areas. DOG FRIENDLY is a plus!! Everyone here (guests included) were really lovely! We will be back
