This hotel has fantastic location. Right across the street from the park in the center of IB... its a very charming historic looking building and its the cheapest on that strip. We stayed in room 9. With the windows open we had a nice breeze and could hear the waves crash. The landscaping was bad and the buildings looked pretty... More

As low budget hotels go, this one is good. I see other reviewers say 'dirty' ... it was super clean when I was there. You can always hire good maids. I've been in Vagas 5* hotels with ... well, that were disgusting. If you like fancy, stay at the pier. This is my favoite. Room 20 I think is at... More

We cycled from Santa Barbara and stayed in a total of 4 motels. This one was by far the worst! The entire room in our room #10 was dirty, from stains on the ceiling and walls, to the bathtub and bathroom floor just plain dirty. There was a coffee pot but no coffee, there was a window to let the... More

A fun and clean place to stay, close to everything. We will stay again when in town. Playground and water just across the street. Many great food places close by. Love the pier just a short walk away.

We stayed (for a few hours), the floor in room 7 was so dirty I had to wash my feet before getting into the bed. Only sat on the side of the tub because the black mold was terrible, and the shower was covered with mold. The pillows were stained yellow, so we got our own pillows out of our... More

We rented Room 11 at the Sand Castle Inn on the night of 28 December 2013. You folks have a great location there in Imperial Beach. However, our experience in the room we rented was far from satisfactory. Here are some of the more serious problems we encountered in our stay. a) The faucet unit in the bathroom shower needs... i stayed at sand castle inn last year and was pleased with the price and location, the room was rather small, the bathroom ergonomically wrong but being able to see the ocean from my room was a plus. i have just returned from the same hotel and am unhappy to report that the quality has gone down quite a bit,... Waking up and going to bed with the sound of the Ocean waves was amazing!! Also amazing is this location is kid friendly a must for me having 4 kids. Our room was in the back (118) the kids were able to play and run round around safely. This is truly like living an a apartment complex and that’s a... More

Being across from the park and the beach was the best part. The pizza parlor next door is very delicious! It's quiet at night which made it very relaxing. We felt extremely comfortable and the rooms were perfect. The staff was always friendly. Price of the stay was perfect. I will definitely always stay here when I come to visit!

Do not be fooled by photos. Everything about this place was wrong. The pails had garbage, no toilet paper, no hangars, no soap, lights in bathroom didnt work, TV didnt work, the window couldnt close, FILTHY DIRTY DISGUSTING, when I told the old man at the front desk we were leaving he replied "Si, Entiento" I understand. Very sad that... More
