Websites said ocean view.. definitely not. Blinds covered in dirt, furniture was filthy and stained, construction going on, spiders in bathroom, no hot water in the kitchen, sheets were stained, floor was covered in dirt. This room hasn't been cleaned in months. It was very dirty and I don't recommend staying here.

Dear Casey: Thank you so much for taking the time to provide your feedback on your stay at our Sand Castle Inn in Imperial Beach. First, let me say that I am sorry you felt mislead by our website. I found the term “Ocean View” in the description of our Penthouse Suite and our Apartment Suite with Kitchenette. These accommodations...

I love this simple place. It is so 1950s. Not a luxury, but very convenient and unpretentious. Hope it stays like this, but IB is getting a bit fancy and overpriced, imo. I think Room 20 is the one on the South end. That's where I stayed and it's a bit more quiet.

The motel location is truly what you are paying for at this motel. We heard the waves crashing from the front door of our room. The room was quite clean and dust-free (which is a big issue for me), but there were a lot of items in the room that were old and dated. However, it is under new management,...

I am a veteran and NIKI called me 12 hours before check in time and canceled my reservation through a voicemail for someone who was willing to pay more. IT WAS VETERANS DAY! We had no place to stay because of her and when I walked into the office NIKI was rude, inconsiderate, nasty, and refused to help us find...

The Sand Castle Inn is a small motel on the beach in the heart of Imperial Beach with excellent parking. That's important in the summer. The surfing can be great, fishing on the city pier is always productive and great fun for children of all ages. The VFW hall is a couple of blocks away. The Mexican border crossing is just...

I recently stayed at the Sand Castle Inn and I was elated to discover that the hotel not only is under new ownership, but also the hotel rooms have all been updated. I was in town for business, but I was able to relax as well considering the hotel is right across the street from the beach. Also, it didn't...
