We left our stay feeling like we were put a room that never should be in use for guests. The room was as dilapidated as any hotel room I've ever stayed in. We documented the various issues, which are listed below. - Sofa cushions were worn out – you literally hit the fold-out bed frame when you sat down. Also, the fabric was very worn. - Sofa bed was completely unusable. Mattress was completely shot, which caused us to have to change our plans. - Two of the four faucets were leaking. Plus, the toilet had to be finagled to keep it from running. - Paint was badly chipped around sliding door. - Fabric on balcony chair coming un-sewn - Sliding plantation blinds on balcony door blocked the locking mechanism so the door was nearly inoperable when blinds were opened - Paint badly chipped and then badly painted over around entry door - The finish on the kitchenette cabinets was badly chipped. Hinges were loose, making doors nearly inoperable. You'd have to reposition the doors to get them to close properly. - Edges of desk had the finish chipped off. - End table by sofa had the finish chipping off - Insufficient electrical outlets - No microwave - No full length mirror If aesthetics are important to a guest, which they are to us: - None of the finishes on the furniture match and were of different vintages (desk, end table, dresser, all different-colored finishes) - Art is dated, doesn’t color coordinate, and is badly hung (off center and crooked) - Everything closes at 10, so if you're there In the end, it felt like a pretty bad highway motel, not something labeled a resort. That level of property neglect and willingness to subject a guest to a room literally falling apart will make me reconsider ever staying at a Hilton property again. When I wrote the hotel, I was asked if I had complained to anyone because they had remodeled rooms they could have moved us to! This was utterly maddening to know they had nice rooms, but they put is in the awful one and we needed to complain to get a nice one. Dumfounding. The only reason for a '2' instead of a '1' is you can walk to the beach.

Hotel's Favorite
My three teens and I just finished a stay at the Waterfront Beach Resort. While hotels are being impacted by the pandemic all across the country, this hotel has worked hard to work around those issues. Everything was fantastic - no restaurant issues, the pool was staffed well with servers, and everything was operating as it should be. And the location cannot be beat. There is so much nearby - food, shops, and a wonderful beach. Highly recommend it and cannot wait to go back. My kids really loved it too.

No matter how beautiful a Resort is if the first person you encountered does not have the right attitude on how to treat a guest well, it deeply affects and changes your perception of the place. The front desk staff here needs serious training on customer service. Although the manager had reached out to make our experience better and I deeply appreciates her for doing that. Beware of any upgrades offered. Make sure that if you initially booked at the Twin Dolphin Tower, which is the newer tower, upgrade offered must be in the same tower especially if paying upgrade fees. Important points were not not made very clear by the front desk staff. He gave us a so-called upgrade with additional fees but he did not say that it will be at the old tower. The old tower has this musty smell and old furniture. How can that be considered an upgrade? When I changed my mind and decided to just keep my original booking, this lady from the front desk was not very happy about it and she just blatantly exposes her unfriendly demeanor. Very disappointing experience at a hotel that claimed to be 4-star. Advice to the manager: Please tell your front desk staff to never underestimate your guest. Treat all your guests fairly! Be honest and transparent when offering upgrades and being warm and pleasant should always be the nature of a front desk staff! We read reviews and we do research before deciding where to stay especially if paying almost $600/ night. We expect better service!

I stayed with my firm at its expense, after providing my Hilton Honors number. Although I am a diamond level member, the property refused to pay me any points for the substantial cost of the room. I have stayed at the Paséa and a Hyatt and found them to be much better properties. The layout of the Waterfront and the decor were not as nice as what I found at those neighboring hotels. I would not stay here again if it were my call.

Although this is named a RESORT, the service and amenities are lacking, therefore I consider this a hotel. The location is across the highway from the sand, so be careful when crossing. The hotel offers beach chairs, bike rentals and umbrella's for a charge. HB allows firepit's on the beach and the hotel will provide a space, chairs and wood for $200. The rooms are on the small side and a partial ocean view will have a very small balcony with two chairs and a table. We had to put the table in our room to move the chair positions. It's tight. We faced south and had a good morning view of the sand and waves in the distance. There is a bed and small couch in the room. The bathroom is minimal, so don't expect Q-Tips, shower cap or thread kit. Housekeeping is "by request only" and you must notify the front desk early in the morning if you want service. You will not sleep well if you expect to leave your window open. Pacific Coast Highway is very busy with racing cars, loud motorcycles and poolside partying. No wave crashing melodies. There are two pools, one for families and children, the other for adults. It appears that the hotel doesn't care if children use the adult pool, as it was packed with children. Over the weekend the adult pool had a DJ which was nice. The pool service was terrible. Both days drinks took up to an hour and food took longer than that to be delivered. There were three servers, so the problem was the bar and kitchen. You have three choices to eat a meal on site. The main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They only offered a buffet on Saturday and Sunday for breakfast, no ala carte. We tried to order coffee to take it upstairs and they said we would have to go to the marketplace gift store. 10 people in line, slow help and an hour later we walked away with two cups of coffee and a croissant. This place has a few gift store items, however the snacks available were minimal at best. They do offer a decent (not great) pizza. Although it is advertised as thin crust, ours was thick. The main Boardwalk restaurant has an eclectic array of food and for many, it may be difficult to find something satisfying to eat. We ate lunch and dinner here on one occasion. The third restaurant opens for dinner only. The menu items didn't appeal to us and it's likely others agreed. All three nights there were very few patrons. There was a guitarist playing music on Friday and Saturday evening. If Huntington Beach was your destination and you happened to stay at the Hilton, the location is ideal. You are a 20 minute drive to Newport Beach, to enjoy fine dining in the evening, or visit the number of restaurants next door at the outdoor shopping mall or Main Street which is 1/2 a mile away. It's an easy walk. The crowd on Main St tends to get pretty rowdy at nights, and I wouldn't suggest leaving your teenagers there alone or with friends. It's a big bar scene, but great for people watching. For the amount of money spent over the course of three nights, four days, I feel cheated and expected so much more. A morning breakfast, good service and more hotel variety would be a good start. Feel free to ask any questions, I am happy to answer your inquiries.

From the moment I arrived in the valet area until driving away in my car I enjoyed every moment of my stay. Valet was organized and immediately responded to arrival. Was nice being able to park and be centrally located so could eat at property or be within walking distance to a variety of eating establishments that would fit all budgets. Check-in was rapid and felt welcome. All areas of property were very clean and sanitizer stations available. Never had to wait long for an elevator. Room had a safe in closet and bathroom area very large, shower had a handheld shower head if needed and was placed lower, also higher shower head for those taller could be used. Enjoyed sitting out on balcony, watching the waves, sunset or just reading. Didn’t go to pool but appeared those in area were enjoying it and the added bonus of water slide. Hotel has connection/agreement with bike rental place across street which provides a great discount, great trail to ride bike in either direction. All in all a very well maintained property, a staycation that was greatly enjoyed.

Pro location is great. Close to beach and close to stores and restaurants. Staff was extremely friendly. Cons: way over priced. No less than $500ish a night MIDWEEK before taxes and a resort fee. Breakfast buffet for 2 people came to about $80, $5 for a bottle of water, and more just to name a few. Toilet paper is like sand paper for the price we paid, I’d expect a MyPillowntype softness. Facilities were run down for a place calling itself a resort. I’d stay here again if the price was closer to $200-250.

B level hotel with A level prices. Hotel is nice enough. Location is great. Finishings are poor for the price. Some examples…Broken/missing beach chairs/umbrella/boards. Maybe the worst attribute; One ply toilet paper in a $600/night room!

Great vacation hanging out at the beach and pool. Food and hospitality was great. Valet service was awesome too they shuttled us down to main street to go out to some shops. Cole G was out valet. He got us right where we needed to go. He then came to pick us up later in the evening!
