Nice hotel. Great location directly across PCH from the beach and close to the Huntington Beach pier. Rooms are clean although cheaply decorated. There are a couple eating places on site and many nearby. Beware of the much hated and unethical “resort fee”. Customer service was nice but unpolished. I had to stop the valet from driving my car off before I took my suitcases out of the trunk. Lol. The Hyatt next door looks higher end but I was perfectly happy at the Hilton.

Thank you Hilton for awesome memories of our 29th. The beachfront upgrade was unexpected and much appreciated. Loyalty does payoff. We did have trouble with the bill and continue stay, as our 1st night was a loyalty bonus. However, Sean who pleasantly checked us in was there to fix things at checkout as well. Hayley, Rodolfo and Travis went above and beyond to make us feel special at breakfast. Best too eat breakfast between 7 and 9am as there was a 50 minute wait at busy time. Lots of COVID spaced tables, not enough staff. That's why Hayley, Rodolfo, and Travis are so special, they work hard. Huntington beach area is beautiful and clean. We never used valet once we checked in our car. We brought our bicycles to get around and walked. Thank you Waterfront Hilton. We have great memories.

This was a great resort it was expensive but worth it. The location and view was spectacular. The room was growth a beautiful view and balcony. The staff was top notch. Very friendly and helpful. They really cared. Saw the staff picking up trash blowing outside. Above and beyond. The drinks and food was very good. Beds are very comfortable. The room walls could be a little thicker. Could hear dogs barking and doors slamming shut. We would love to stay here again.

Great view and facilities made better by the fantastic employees. We always include a stay at The Waterfront when visiting So Cal. Good location with the beach and HB nearby. The 9th floor bar a great place to watch a sunset.

The hotel itself was serviceable, although I've been more comfortable in a Best Western that cost a tenth as much. We had a couple of full beds, which were very mushy, a TV, a small room, a coffee maker with bad coffee and powdered creamer. The best you can say about the room was it appeared to be clean, although after seeing hotel staff and most hotel guests maskless, I wonder about that too. There was an ocean-facing balcony which we paid a large premium to get -- what they don't mention on the website is that between your balcony and the ocean view is the extremely noisy and smelly Pacific Coast Highway and a large parking lot. The traffic noise drowned out any ocean noise, and noise from the frequent motorcycles at all hours was extra special. The noise and the view of the parking lot is not what I expect for this price. Would have been nice to mention it's extremely noisy and smells of exhaust. We wanted some waters and snacks for the room and we found the one little "store" which wasn't really a store -- it was a nook with one cooler of drinks that was almost empty and a small table of snacks. Again, I've stayed in Best Westerns with better amenities. There was no water at all. We were there 5 minutes before its 7 pm closing. We managed to get three diet Doctor Peppers and one unsweetened tea. We don't even like those drinks. We just wanted water but there wasn't any, and we didn't want sugary drinks. There were almost no snacks in stock, and nothing we wanted, so we didn't get any. I would not call this place a "resort." It's functioning at the level of a poorly stocked motel. But here's the coup de grace. At least half the guests were not wearing masks indoors in the common areas, and they don't bother to keep their distance either. They'll crowd right up to you in the hallways, they'll cram right into the elevator you're riding with your masked family. Who are these boors, and why are they above following public health guidance for the State of California in a public hotel? Where is the management of this "resort," who should be insisting that people cramming themselves into elevators and crowding you in the halls at least wear a mask? Well, a look to the front desk might give a clue as to how this place is run -- one gal had her mask on, one had a mask completely pulled off her face, and one guy had nothing on his face. Two of the three people sitting at the front desk, unmasked. No wonder so many of the clientele thought they didn't need to wear masks either. Is this a Hilton policy? I'll be crossing all Hiltons off my list, and I'll be telling everyone I know to stay away as well. What a mess this place was, and a complete ripoff for the price. Someone ought to call the County and complain, although to hear about Orange County's attitude to public health, they don't care either, so maybe we should all steer clear of Orange County in general. I won't be back to Orange County any time soon to spend my tourist dollars. I guess this Hilton would be nice for the loudmouth ignorant bare-faced crowd who seemed to be roaming its halls, but is that the demographic that Hilton is going for? The valet guys were nice. Slow but nice. They wore masks, they were polite, they got our car as needed. I would not stay here again, though, even if it were free.
