This classic Victorian Plantation landmark manor house, built in 1880, once presided over a huge empire of hops. Converted to an intimate country bed and breakfast in 1980 it sits upon a knoll above an unspoiled Russian River vineyard valley ringed by redwood forested mountains. Lovingly preserved it is a place of quiet beauty in the hills of Healdsburg Wine Country. Return now to a time and place that has not quite yet gone by.

We stayed in the Strawberry room end of October. The dining room is closed so breakfast is in your room. There is also outdoor seating available that is spaced out and includes an amazing view with each grouping . This room is nicely furnished with period pieces and it is immaculately clean. The bed is extremely comfortable and the sheets and coverlet are cotton. Oh, how I love people that make traveling be comfortable! The attention to making travel safe is obvious! It somewhat limits what the host/hostess can offer and my thinking is that making it safe for us is their priority. Obviously they also have a beautiful property that is cared for in great detail. We went out last evening and the approach as we returned was beautiful. The house is tastefully lit and quite a sight! It is atop a hill and the addirocnack chairs are super comfortable so a few moments outside were quite the treat. We look forward to breakfast and will add pictures later.

We had been wanting to stay here for years, for every time we drove Westside Highway, we would see the remarkable Raford Inn victorian home. The location is in the heart of the Russian River wineries, with easy access to downtown Healdsburg and the Dry Creek Valley wineries. We were most amazed to discover that the service, friendliness, and hospitality of the owners was even better than the location. Dane & Rita made our visit a home away from home with their welcoming presence and hospitality. Rita’s spinach & feta frittata and homemade fig scones were magical. The 5:30 “happy hour” on their wrap around porch was out of a classic movie. If you are goinf to visit wine country, this is the place you must stay. It is the vacation spot you are dreaming of, for a wine country vacation.

We loved our experience at The Raford Inn in Healdsburg. Dane and Rita were so hospitable and kind. Our stay was in July, during phase 2 of COVID reopening. They did a wonderful job of making us feel safe during this uncertain time. They were very cognizant of putting protocols in place to maintain social distance and kept our room very clean. The property itself was beautiful and in such a relaxing place. We really enjoyed being able to lounge in the adirondack chairs, drink coffee and read while enjoying a such a peaceful view. We hope to be back again!!
