The front desk attendant was very nice. She made it a quick and easy check. Explain everything about the hotel. She was able to answer the question I had. Room was clean and the bed is comfortable. There was plenty of parking.
I work at Cal State, East Bay. One evening I was just too damn tired to take the long commute back to San Francisco. So, decided to stay in Hayward for the night (I always keep an overnight bag in the trunk just in case I think IO might not have the energy to drive safely back home). Every motel close to the campus was sold out - but the Vagabond Inn, about a 15-minute drive,- had one room left. Believe me, I did not want to pay the $149.00 room fee, but by Bay Area standards, I suppose that is par for the course. The hotel is in an especially gritty part of , generally, gritty Hayward (I saw a hooker in short pants (the weather was frosty) standing right outside the motel. However, the motel's clientele all appeared to be law abiding citizens - for instance, many contractors/trade union folks. My room was spacious and immaculate. Also, I had my little doggie - the room fee was a very reasonable $10. The breakfast was just cold cereal, a bit of fruit, and coffee/tea. In conclusion, I would not hesitate to stay there again.…
Our house is currently renovation and this is our 3rd time in the past 3 weeks we have been here. At first we were a little nervous based on it being rated as a 2.5 star hotel. We’ve stayed in the Marriott, double tree and Hyatt in the past year. This hotel is underrated. Not only is it super affordable it is also clean and the rooms are renovated. The front desk manager is one of the nicest managers we’ve ever came across at a hotel. This will be our new go to. Forget the Marriott and Double tree prices. We will continue to stay here and get the same thing for half the price :)
My truck was broken into during my stay at this hotel. There appears to be a lot of homeless, drug usage and prostitution at and/or around this property. I will not recommend anyone I know to stay here.
Fairly expensive dated hotel. Breakfast?? No abit of fruit, yoghurt, and the smallest bagels ever. Not in a breakfast room. In the reception check in area, no seats and about 30 people trying to grab what they can on paper plates. Not worth the money. No plug for bath. Apparently it's a shower only!
We stayed 1 night at this hotel because we were catching a Oakland flight the next morning. The room and bathroom were cleaned and the room served its purpose. I did like the flavored water in the lobby
Stayed for two nights at the end of our road trip. The front desk staff couldn't do enough for us letting us check-in early and recommending places to go shopping/ eating etc. The room was large, bed was very comfy and the room was well equipped with a fridge, tea/coffee etc. we were on the top floor, only downside was no lift but at least it was quiet . Plenty of parking and just off the freeway.
The room smelled like cigarettes. Dogs were running up and down the hall and their owners were shouting after them (throughout the night, not just once). They were shouting after them and using profanity and frankly scaring me. Everything was disgusting. Breakfast felt like it consisted of a corner store banana, a plastic cereal bowl, and sugary juice. I did not get it. All the noise kept me up and completely ruined my day and the work meetings I had to get to - which I ended up being late to because I overslept! I have contacted management several times through email and received NO response. When I complained to the woman at the front desk she said "at least it's over for you now." I am considering reporting to FTC.
The rooms were the worst. The bed spreads and sheets were old. I didn't like anything about my two night stay. The breakfast was cheap and tasteless. The smells were like nothing I ever smelled before. They have no elevators the stairways smelled like urine. I should have guessed by the name, that I was in for a surprise.
I travel for work over 100 nights a year. I know hotels!!! This one had promise - it looked clean and a good bargin...BUT it is in Hayward CA. When I checked in I asked if the parking lot was secure. I was told it was. The next morning I found that my work box had been stolen during the night. I was parked RIGHT outside the office window!!!! Additionally, there were about 60 international tourists staying there. They were very noisy and rude - shutting doors loudly AND USING THE hall way as a conference room. Their noise went on well past 9:00PM no one at the hotel tried to quiet them or expain acceptable hotel behavior. The "breakfast" is non existant....the WiFi is slow. Ok the room was clean.....spend a few more $$ and go to a Best Western or La Quinta. I won't be back hre. I'll sleep in the truck 1st.…
