Wonderful location to walk downtown, to the coastal trail with easy access to Hwy 1. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We were a party of 3 with separate rooms. Each different and charming. Nice amenities in the rooms. Nice breakfast. Nice outdoor seating in courtyard. Request 1st floor if you can’t manage luggage on the stairs. Front rooms pick up a bit of street noise if the windows are open - lovely breeze! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Enjoy!

I treated my sister, for her birthday, to this exquisite B&B, in one of her favorite Northern California little beach towns, Half Moon Bay. This was our first visit to this unique, charming, chic Inn. The house was tastefully decorated with lovely antiques and artwork, interspersed with the crisp, clean, blue & grey decor of a Nantucket, Mass. ocean cottage. The bedrooms were very cozy, spacious and light, with large picture windows that overlooked their lovely gardens. The sheets and towels are creamy soft. The bedrooms are also very quiet, for a peaceful night's sleep. The backyard sitting area was both intimate and welcoming, with a firepit to keep you warm on chilly evenings. David, the owner and host, was sooo gracious and accommodating, that we loved just sitting and chatting with him, and his charming husband, Jerry, over a glass of wine, after a day of sightseeing. David serves a plated, sit down breakfast, of one of his own delicious, culinary delights, every morning. My sister and I had an incredible, relaxing time in this lovely B&B, with the wonderful host and owner, David. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone with discriminating tastes in the finer, unique enjoyments of life.

Made a last minute reservation for 1 night. I understand there was a change of ownership in September 2021. This accommodation has so much character, is really clean and the attention to detail evident in the beautifully furnished bedrooms. Quality towels and toiletries provided. Excellent WiFi. The complimentary wine and banana cake available in reception was delicious and much appreciated. We had a lovely cooked breakfast prior to departure. Would stay again in a heart beat.

Very conveniently situated along Half Moon Bay's Main Street collective shops and cafes, and less than a mile from the Pacific Ocean. What a treat to stay at this Bed & Breakfast! David, the inn's host, is a very gracious and helpful person and an outstanding chef - breakfast was a different culinary treat each day! The rooms are beautifully appointed, private, and very comfortable. We had the best time at Half Moon Beach much due to the fact that we chose to stay here. Since we were fully vaccinated, and according to CDC, we were able to go without our face masks at the hotel. Only vaccinated guests can do so, so we felt safe.

My partner and I have visited the Nantucket Whale Inn a couple of years ago, and we were so happy to be back again. We got away for both a quiet birthday and to find somewhere from wildfires for three days. Very clean, though due to COVID - 19 precautionary measures, requested amenities should be discussed with David. David is an excellent host and can offer ample information of the area, from restaurants to places to visit. He was especially informative when booking over the phone. We look forward to our next stay.

We had a great time at the Nantucket Whale Inn! Our room was cozy, clean, and had a great view of the Inn's garden, and breakfast each morning was delicious. The Inn is also within walking distance of the beach and numerous restaurants and shops. Once we arrived we never really needed to hop in our car. David, the owner, was a fantastic host and we were very impressed with all the COVID measures he is taking. Our favorite part of the Inn was the enclosed garden- it was a great place to drink our coffee and tea in the morning and enjoy a glass of wine later in the day. We would definitely go back and plan to recommend it to your friends.

So Charming! My husband and I just stayed at the Nantucket Whale Inn for two nights and had a lovely stay. I was worried it’d be too hot because our room didn’t have air conditioning, but the temperature was perfectly cool and with the window open, the smell of the fresh California air was so nice. The cleanliness, location, complimentary breakfast, fresh flowers, wine hour and the outside patio area were wonderful. The only improvements would be to have more durable shower curtains because water was getting everywhere in the bathroom and explicitly state that guests need to request daily housekeeping. Overall, we had a positive experience and would stay there again!

Very comfortable room and beautiful bathroom. The breakfast was very good (pancakes, bacon and fresh fruit). The only issue is that we had a room on the lower level and the back of the room faced the outside deck. We could hear people on the deck talking and the scraping of chairs on the deck. Fortunately for us, it started raining by 9pm so people had to go inside. I can see that being a problem on a nice summer evening with people staying outside later. Maybe they have a notice that they have to be off the deck by a certain hour. I would certainly check that rule before booking that room. The people working at the B and B were very nice and the place was very clean. For a wonderful meal walk down the street one block to Pasta Moon. Half Moon Bay is a cute town. Worth the stop by with great beaches close by. I would definitely stay there again just not on main floor.

We live not too far away but stayed recently for a little getaway. The location is especially nice, only a block away from Half Moon Bay's downtown district, where we spent hours exploring the little shops and art galleries. Lots of restaurants downtown, too, we ate at a different place for every meal without ever needing to drive. The place itself was clean well kept-up and the staff were great, everything you'd expect from a small-town inn. There were too many nearby places we wanted to eat at (Johnny's, just down the street, was amazing), so we didn't try the breakfast.

Check in was fine. Nice that they offer wine in the evenings and they don't pick it up at a certain time. Inn was clean. Breakfast was very disappointing. Bowl of fresh fruit was fine. Standard issue scrambled eggs, toast and potatoes. No none ever asked if that was ok or if we needed anything else. No cereal, or baked goods. They advertise Hermes bath products but there were none- should take that out of the description. Gives people a false sense of luxury. If we go back to HMB we will look for another place.

Hello Robin, sorry for the late response. I apologize i missed your question. We do not allow pets at the Nantucket Whale Inn but will make exceptions for quite, smaller and non-shedding dogs.
