Great Location. The front desk service was good. The inn is very family friendly. Also very quiet and close to beaches. Cute local, nice restaurants. We felt that the cleaning staff also was very accommodating.

Currently under construction on the upper level. We were advised not to park close to building due to dust. Covid protocols in place. Disappointed that the in floor heat was no longer working. Tile floors very cold, even in shoes, due to my personal neuropathy issues. But remodel is being done as I type.
The location is good. Lovely view of the water on the other side of Hwy 1. Hwy noise is audible but not loud.
Continental breakfast delivered in individual sacks at a time you request. Juice, yogurt, danish or muffin, and an apple. Mini coffee maker, microwave and little refrigerator provided.
Good value. We are here 2 nights then headed south. Definitely stay again. Registration staff so nice, very friendly! First travels since our first Covid shutdown a year ago...

Less expensive than some other accomodations in the area, but with significant drawbacks. The rooms face south and are not air conditioned. Open the windows and the noise from the highway (between the hotel and the harbor)invades. It was too warm in March to leave the windows closed during the day. There is some view of the harbor, but mostly of the highway which is very busy day and night. Originally we were given a main floor room (with an even more limited view) and for an additional fee were allowed to move upstairs. The inn was nearly empty so this room likely would have been vacant.

Cons:
1. Noisy and busy street, no soundproofing..
2. Broken furniture.
3. Bad mattress.
4. Black Mold and mildew growing on windows and walls.
5. Front desk staff refused to get us extra towels- told us to “wait until cleaning staff comes in at 8am”. Request made at 630am because we needed to get to an event. We spoke to the relief desk person around 7 and asked what the night desk persons problem was, She replied “ I asked him the same question...he’s new”- wrong answer!
6. Strong carpet fresh chemical smell that never went away. Had to “try” to sleep with the windows open because of smell.
7. Window crank handle broken.
8. Overpriced by 50%

How this place has stayed in business in this quaint town is beyond me......All in all, a horrible nights sleep- stay away

We booked a remodeled Queen room for one night. When we arrived the bed was dirty, the chair in the room was filthy and the heater didn’t work and it was a Full not a Queen. We complained and they said they could change our room but it would $20 more. After some arguments they moved us to non-remodeled room. This room was also dirty. There weren’t any washcloths and there was a high pitched noise that we couldn’t find the source of. Around 4 am the pipes began gurgling. The bed was hard as a rock and lumpy. We complained but they didn’t care.

A great motel near the harbor. A great location. Currently undergoing a full renovation. We stayed in a renovated room and it was amazing. Wood rooms. Comfortable bed and bedding. Nice bathroom. Will definitely stay here again. We were with friends staying at the RV park and we were able to walk to the RV park and the beach. Plenty of restaurants across the highway. We parked our car didn’t use it until we left.

Small, well-maintained hotel with fabulous front desk staff! We stayed in a ground floor room due to my husband’s mobility issues so the bay view was not as good as it would be on the second floor. I loved that there was a window seat, abundant bed pillows, quality temperature control, and a fireplace (although it is a wall insert with simulated flames and coals). The room and bathroom were immaculate and appeared newly renovated. No carpeting, which made us hear the woman walking in high heels on the floor above us. I absolutely will stay there again when I able to stay on the second floor with its better view! Great value for the price!

On a day trip with our lab, we decided to spend the night so I googled dog friendly hotels half moon bay. The list in the city was just two choices. I chose Harbor view which was just a few miles from the restaurant we were at. The man who answered the number given on the screen was friendly and said there would be an extra $10 fee for the dog. He took my card and info. On arrival, the lady at the hotel desk confirmed my info and reservation and the amount. She said there was construction so we got keys and went to an upstairs room. The room was recently remodeled but they didn't do anything with the windows that let in road noise all night. The gentlemen in the adjacent room spoke normally but we could clearly hear them through the wall by our bed. The next morning the new lady at the front desk saw my dog and said that is he doing here? I explained that the man who took our reservation said it was specifically dog friendly. She said they changed their policy several months ago.

As we were about to leave, I went back to the office to advise them to notify the company making their reservations to not sell dog friendly rooms so this doesn't happen again. The manager came out and said they had no control about what got booked and they just had to live with it. If a "snuck in" a dog, there would be a $175 fee. I said their booking company was quite aware that we had a dog. After we left, they tagged on another $40 fee which I have disputed on my card.

We were tired of the big corporation Covid-19 nonsense, so we stayed 1 night here. Reasonable rates. Front desk lady super sweet and helpful. Rooms clean. Close to the harbor and restaurants. Nice and neat. Comfy bed.

My family and I just stayed at this hotel last week and while it is in need of some work and isn't the cleanest hotel in the area we were pleased with the location and the price. Unfortunately, we were treated horribly by the manager Marina. After all the years of staying down at the coast I have never seen such blatant disregard for a paying guest. My experience with the hospitality industry is that they pride themselves on courteous customer service but not at this hotel. My family and I took a blanket from the room down to the beach (as was witnessed by one of the hotel staff) for the sole purpose of having somewhere for my children to sit and enjoy the ocean. When we were done for the day we BROUGHT it back from the beach on our return. When we checked out the next day we found a charge for $50 on our credit card. We were told that we had taken the blanket and were now being charged because we couldn't prove that we had returned the blanket. Ridiculous and so insulting!! I explained that we had returned the blanket and demanded that they remove the charge. They refused. Marina went so far as to tell me that she had no way of knowing if I had left the blanket on the beach. Wow!! So now I am a liar. I told her to ask her staff because the blanket was left in the room. I will dispute this ridiculous charge with my credit card company and warn anyone who plans to stay at this establishment that the manager Marina is really a piece of work or possibly she hires staff that lie about old cheap blankets and their existence. My advice to anyone is to go down the road to the Comfort Inn because they have affordable rates and a wonderful staff. We have stayed there numerous times and have always been treated with the courtesy that we deserve.
